At approximately 11 minutes past 12 00 this morning on october 24th, the state police at middle borrow received a single call of a huangway operator travelling the long way operator travelling southbound was alone occupant of the vehicle. The preliminary investigation leaves investigators to believe that the wrongway operator vehicle struck the northbound vehicle head on. The crash impact caused northbound vehicle to become the crash occurred in left travel lane of route 495 northbound. The highspeed lane. Theres no indication at time allow for evasive action by the northbound Motor Vehicle operator to avoid the vehicle travelling the wrong way. The crash this morning was caused by the wrong way northbound lane. The union going investigation will determine the stimuli reasons why this crash occurred. Because the call came into state police within a few we had responding patrols at the scene and we have one person witness that called and all seems to have occurred pretty contemporaryialy with the call we received. I know its early. Any indication as how fast the wrongway driver is going . Can you tell us the vehicles involved not a this time. The investigation is ongoing. Notification of next of kin hasnt been made. With respect to the families were holding back all that information. Any sort of construction going on no construction. I no e this tough question. One of the vehicles the one probably on fire i mean you talk about how this kind of affecting the investigation trying to figure out whats going its affecting the investigation. With all sensitivity to the investigation i wouldnt want to go into factors at this time. Families havent been notified yet. Do you know the wrongway driver . We know that the people were involved all five people involve ready young adults. They are all massachusetts residents. State police cant say why the driver was go tragic wrong way. We know a witness call state happened very quickly from the time that witness called them about the wrongway driver and we know they are still trying to reach out to all the family of the people involved here. State police continued to say they are offering their condolences to those families. I would like to express our condolence to family of five young adult that lost their lives last night.
