Officials say nearly two dozen people were injured in the blast that happened just before right now investigators say not everyone is accounted for. Firefighters are searching the building to see if they find anyone else trapped inside. It took firefighters several hours to knock down the flames. They rescued several people out of the building. Officials say two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion while battling the flames. The conditions of the other victim is not known right now. The explosion damaged several other buildings in the area. Debris from the blast is scattered on the street and the sidewalk. Right now the cause of the investigation. Investigators say a threeyearold goldendoodle was bitten more than 400 times while staying at briarwood kennels. When the dogs family picked him up, they said he was bitten from neck to tail. A mob of teens surround a young woman and suddenly attack her. Police say it happened in the back bay a little after 10 00 tuesday night. So we have a dog and were on walks often at that hour, an we have a newborn baby, so its obviously very scary. Victoria the woman was on marlborough street. Police say one boy punched her and another teen stole her cell phone. This neighborhood has always been thought of as one of the safest in boston, so its obviously disconcerting. Victoria the group of teens ran off. Police searched the area but could not find them. It sounds like its time for someone to take some action to know, being watched and taken care of, because that has to stop. A big draw for us in boston generally is a really safe environment and a friendly neighborhood. And its too bad. Its sad and its uncomfortable. A former mob boss now charged in a 23yearold murder case. Salemme appeared in federal court on wednesday. Hes charged with the murder of a south boston nightclub manager in 1993. The f. B. I. Nancy ebner plans to take time to reflect on his olympic moment, but one of the highlights was marching in the Opening Ceremony with that that was really cool. That Opening Ceremony was fantastic, just being there to watch that whole thing. Watching it so many years as a kid. To see that in person, it was awesome. Nancy and the team does actually play once more again today against spain to determine if they finish in 9th or 10th place. And all eyes later today will be on aly raisman. She and going for gold in the womens individual allaround. Biles heavily favored to take gold here, but aly is considered a serious contender after a strong showing in the team allaround. And for her, no matter what happens today, she says she will be happy. I think all the girls agree that there is nothing as amazing and special as being able to win that team gold medal. Jennifer christa, Officials Say at least five people are missing this morning, two dozen people were hurt after an explosion at an Apartment Building. This is maryland, a Community Just outside washington, d. C. The fire start just before midnight after an apparent natural gas explosion. That natural gas continued to feed the flames. Firefighters at a station a mile away felt the blast and rushed to the scene. It took firefighters a few hours to knock down the flames. Several people trapped inside were rescued down ladders extended to the building. Officials say two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion while battling the flames. The conditions of the other over the scene as we see this in daylight. Of course, it started around midnight last night. You can still see smoke rising from that Apartment Building. Other buildings were damaged in the explosion. Crews are trying to clean up all the debris that was scattered out on to the street. Theres still no word yet on the exact cause of the explosion. In the newsroom, 7news today in new england. Christa police are investigating after a man was stabbed at a home in dorchester on millette street early this morning. Investigatsa stabbed six times in the stomach and chest. So far no word on the victims condition or if police have made any arrests. A back bay neighborhood on alert after a woman says she was attacked and robbed by several teens. 7s victoria warren live with the very latest on the sarah. This woman with a scary story to tell. She says she was out walking in the back bay when all of a sudden a group of teens came at her. A mob of teens surround a young woman and suddenly attack her. Police say it happened in the back bay a little after 10 00 tuesday night. We have a dog, so were there at that hour. We have a newborn baby. So its obviously very scary. Christa neighbors on edge. Police say there were about a dozen teen, the woman was on marlborough street. One boy punched her and then another teen stole her cell phone. This neighborhood has always been thought of as one of the safest in boston, so its disconcerting. The group of teens ran off. Police searched the area but did not find them. It sounds like its time for someone to take some action to make sure the neighborhood is being taken care of because this has to stop. A big draw for us in boston generally is a really safe and its too bad. Its sad and its uncomfortable. As scary as this was for the woman, physically she was okay. That natural gas continued to feed the flames. Firefighters at a stights a mile away felt the blast and rushed to the scene. It took firefighters a few hours to knock down the flames.
