Police are investigating a deadly crash in dorchester. A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a car. The driver of the car suffering just minor injuries. No word on any potential charges. This really frayed some nerves on friday, and if this guy thought it was a joke, nobody was laughing. A lawrence man will be in court charged with planting a hoax investigators believe this is 50yearold James Derepentigny, captured by surveillance camera on bostons atlantic avenue. Oh, my gosh. Wow. Jonathan derepentigny allegedly hurried away from a Homeland Security vehicle after leaving a suitcase by the left rear vehicle. The bomb squad blew it up as a precaution. [explosion] heavily armed Boston Police and Office Workers on edge, even after it was discovered there were no explosives in the suitcase, just clothing, wires and a power source. Thats a little sickening i think. Its really sickening if someone takes that for a joke. Jonathan Lawrence Police got a 911 call tipping them off of derepentignys location. He was arrested within hours after the suitcase was left by a Government Security cameras at u. S. Coast guard headquarters late friday morning. He was treated as a dangerous i kept him on the ground at gunpoint until backup officers arrived, and they placed handcuffs on him. Jonathan an Online Search shows derepentigny is no stranger to the back seat of a police cruiser. Hes been arrested in at least three states that we know of massachusetts, New Hampshire and florida. His lawyer is expected to argue Municipal Court for a Mental Health evaluation. Jadiann a little boy is home in dartmouth recovering, and his babysitter is facing some alarming allegations. Police say Richard Pinheiro beat the child and eventually sent him to the hospital. The 28yearold is being held without bail on assault and battery charges. Police say it happened on wednesday at an apartment complex on ledgewood boulevard. Syed farook and Tashfeen Malik killed 14 people, injured 21 others during a holiday party, and they were later killed in a shootout with police. Maliks family members say they noticed she became more passionate in her islamic beliefs over the past few years, but friends say really there was nothing out of the ordinary that she was your typical girl next door. Before the massacre investigators say malik pledged on facebook, but there is no evidence that the terror group knew about the attack beforehand. At the same time, farooks father is speaking for the first time saying his son was shy, who later in life became obsessed over israels fate. They released new information at this meeting last night where parents met with the Police Commissioner, and the Police Commissioner told these parents that the increased security at the schools will continue. So this morning once again when the students show up for school in cambridge, theyll be greeted with a strong Police Presence. This after multiple email school. Police blame a dark web of Sophisticated Software for making it really hard to figure out who is sending the messages. They also told the parents theres a good chance that the person who anonymously tipped them off is actually the person behind this. Parents want to know whats the plan moving forward. How are you going to reassure these kids and say, look, were back to school, its okay to be here, and dont let this hamper your education . Victoria police told the parents last night that the last email indicated that the threat is over, but police say that they will continue the increased security and they will take things day by day as they move forward. This guy will be charged with planting a hoax device and also perhaps causing a public disturbance. 50yearold James Derepentigny of lawrence will face a judge in Boston Municipal Court. He repeatedly said no comment as Police Walked him to a prisoner transport vehicle. Lawrence Police Arrested him after someone called 911. The caller recognized derepentigny in a very clear photo released by the police sunday. Derepentigny left the suitcase by the rear wheel of a Homeland Security vehicle. The bomb squad used a robot to get the suitcase out of there. They did a controlled detonation. Police say there were wires and a power source mixed in with clothing in that suitcase but no explosives. Police say the suspect has been in trouble for years in several massachusetts, New Hampshire, florida, and he may also suffer from mental illness. Christa also this morning, president jimmy carter says he is cancerfree just three and a half months after announcing the disease had spread to his brain. The 91yearold sharing this news at church on sunday. Carter had been undergoing treatment with a new drug that helps the body seek out new cancer cells. Carter says hell don receive regular immunotherapy treatments to help his cancer in remission. Jadiann some pediatricians are call for younger people to undergo some common medical screenings.
