She came ashore last evening in florida as category one hurricane, spent much of the Morning Hours over land and so that has led to some weakening. She now a Tropical Storm at 50 Miles Per Hour but still a more fridayable Tropical Storm moving up the 95 corridor with he heavy rain. That High Pressure Northern New England will block the northward advancement of hermine, but the water east of new jersey and maryland very warm and so thats likely going to lead to restrengthening to perhaps back into a hurricane monday morning at 75 Miles Per Hour. But still you notice very slowly moving to the north and so because of that i think well be the area of High Pressure blocking the strongest winds and heaviest rains south of us. A piece of this will break away and move up into new england late sunday night and through the day on monday. Winds at this time looking like gusting 30 to perhaps as high as 45 Miles Per Hour on the cape sunday night and into monday. Crews in cedar key assessing the damage this morning, sender block walls and this dock couldnt withstand the thrashing hermine has dropped to Tropical Storm status and is headed up the east coast. Pats of georgia and carolinas under a state of emergency. We do expect Tropical Storm force winds between Miles Per Hour sustained. Preparations and way in hopes of preventing excessive damage there. Water and it will it will repin a Tropical Storm. It means a lot of moisture and rain is on the north end of the center of circulation and so these hurricanes and Tropical Storms, they transition over to nontropical but its a challenging forecast because the gulf stream water is very warm here and so this is likely going to lead to restrengthening of the Tropical Storm back into a hurricane east of new jersey. Winds at 50 Miles Per Hour and again it passes through south then North Carolina then off the carolina coastline east of virginia sunday morning 6 00 a. M. , 65 Miles Per Hour, still south of boston and from there only crawling to the north. Monday morning again you notice here the winds going back up so the Hurricane Center thinks its going to become a hurricane once again. Category one hurricane and still only drifting to the north. At this point still well south of new england with most of the effects being felt back toward metro new york city and really focused on the injuries shoreline unfortunately a similar set up, not exact but a similar setup to hurricane sandy. For us, High Pressure big brother up in to come barreling up into new england, but there will be some effect from the storm. So your Holiday Weekend looks like this. Tomorrow thats the of thy part of the forecast. Those a fun day. Looks good. Lots of sunshine. Pleasant. Temperature in the 70s. Sunday morning sun with clouds taken over in the afternoon and there will be a breeze developing from the northeast and it will be a little bit windy on the cape and islands meaning winds will gust 30, perhaps 35 Miles Per Hour and then i think we will see some monday but monday does not look like its raining all day long. So the wind gust potential right now pace based on the current track looks like strong of the winds will be down through the south coast and cape gusting at times 35 to 40 Miles Per Hour. The south shore from the northeast again these are northeasterly winds 25 to 35 Miles Per Hour, boston north and west winds gusting 15 to 25 Miles Per Hour. The amount of rainfall on the way sunday by 6 00 p. M. Nothing. So again i think you are okay sunday. Its dry. Then we will see tropical mo and some of these tropical showers could be loaded with quite a bit of moisture, beneficial rain i might add for the drought with many of us picking up a half inch to perhaps as much as an inch of ben fill rain but until then High Pressure calling the shots. Your 7 on 7 forecast, there you go. Monday showery with the wind dying off and then tuesday clearing skies, mid 70s and more heat coming the end of the next week. See you at 4 30. The Bangor Daily News reports a 61yearold man lost control of his truck and went flying into union river. Anchor up next here on 7, notorious mobster cadillac Frank Salemme gets indicted for murder. Anchor plus, student at a ticket to get into the dance. Why they have to blow into a breathalyzer. Anchor ahead at 5 00 staying on top of breaking news patriots defensive end Rob Ninkovich said he is being suspended for a positive drug test. Anchor a former stanford swimmer convicted of rape walks out of jail after serving half his time and it was the sentence that caused a lot of controversy power shouldnt come from money and influence. Power comes from the people. Im mark connolly, as your financial regulator, i went. After big corporations when they did wrong. Ssault weapons off our streets. Ill take on the Drug Companies that caused this crisis. And protect planned parenthood to protect womens healthcare. The power is in our hands to make New Hampshire safer. And stronger. Mark connolly. Anchor furs at 4 30, we are tracking hermine. Category one hurricane, system now downgraded to a Tropical Storm, but hermine just hit georgia and is now moving through the carolinas with powerful winds and heavy rain. Anchor were going to get an aerial view now of some of the flooding in florida that it left behind. The storm toppled trees and damaged buildings, chief meteorologist Jeremy Reiner is tracking the path of that storm and when it could hit us here in new england. Jeremy . Reporter again, i think well be on the fringe of the storm so we do not anticipate a direct hit from hermine of the e carolina, spent the morning in georgia. It did weaken since last night to a Tropical Storm but still a healthy Tropical Storm at 50 Miles Per Hour moving northeast. There you go. Moving northeast at about 18 Miles Per Hour. Then it moves out of the North Carolina outer banks and at that point its at 65 Miles Per Hour sunday morning at 8 00 a. M. The Hurricane Center thinks and so do the computer models well restrengthen back into hurricane early monday morning at 75 miles line only slowly drifting to the north. We have that blocking High Pressure in Northern New England which will not give ground meaning that this red line, the center of the storm, does not come barreling up into southern new england. In fact, i want to show you the Ocean Temperatures here. If you notice this deep, red coloring right there is the gulf stream and the thinking is that the center of the storm is going to go right over the gulf stream park itself then these tropical systems they feed off that warm ocean water so sit there is going to likely hurricane, something well have to watch but the thinking still even if she does the word im searching for here, get back into i ahurricane is that it would not be able to directly affect new england. So tomorrow were talking sunshine, sunday breezy conditions with monday scattered showers and that wind dying down and again we will detail your forecast coming up in a few minutes. Anchor all right, thank you
