with a 2-run deficit. he was a 1-run lead. 9 4 2 5 to get lucroy third but after the go ahead run had scored so it's rodriguez against soriano and campana at the pitcher spot. fastball at the needs for a strike. swing and a miss. we talked about k rod in the past bob. he has largely replaced his slider with a curveball. and off the glove of izturis he could not haul it in. it's a base hit on an 0-2 pitch. breaking ball caught too much of the plate. soriano took advantage. >> trying to look it up but i'm guessing alex gonzalez is a couple inches taller for cesar izturis so for no other reason they miss glefz on this cue shot off the bat as izturis couldn't get up high enough to make the play. >> izturis at 5'9" gonzalez 5'11 you're right. >> they play taller players. >> ramirez way in at third against the pitch hitter campana he pops up the bunt attempt, it will be caught in foul ground by lucroy. one away. >> it's hard to figure how a guy is such a good bunter and tony campana is a good bunter how you can come through in a sacrifice situation. he usually has more success bunting for a base hit. that time he popped it up. >> welington see oh. -- see oh -- castillo. it was 1-0 into the seventh. each team has scored four runs since. lefty james russell up for the cubs. john axford has had kind of a bizarre year. he was working on a streak of 49 consecutive converted saves. but what he has not pitched in a save spot it's been a real struggle for him. you see that happen occasionally with even the best closers. up in the air to right. hart goes over into the corner. and soriano will have to hold at first. axford is 6-6 in save chances, in the other five appearances where he has not been in a save situation he's allowed runs in four of those five games. he's not allowed a run in a save chance. it's very strange. he's either been lights out or bad and it all depends on the spot he's in. >> and he's not the lone ranger. a lot of good closers some of the best closers in the game suffer a similar fate. they just for whatever reason lack of adrenaline just can't seem to get the outs they need when they're just getting their work in. >> carlos marmol injury a right hamstring sprain. that's why he came out. now backed by barney. to right again. corey hart about the same exact spot. promising start to the inning with a leadoff single but it is wasted. 5-4 brewers. ♪ it's getting hot in -- ♪ enough! no pepsi for you. aaaah! >> he wasn't good but the reasons he came out was the rain. throw to second. little late. normally when they expect rain in the first hour or so they won't even start the game for that very reason. the rangers weren't concerned about the angels pitcher. darvish continued on. >> have you seen yu darvish pitch much?
