The man police were chasing was caught soon after the crash. He was not hurt. Police did not say why they were pursuing him. Charges have yet to be filed. Another violent night left eight people wounded on chicagos streets. A 56yearold man was shot on this street, in the 18 hundred block of South Central park avenue. The youngest victim was a 14 yearold boy, shot near 70th and maplewood, in the Marquette Park neighborhood. Police say that shooting grew out of an ongoing gang conflict. This man is due in court today for a deadly hit and run. Maurice mcdowell is charged with three felonies for hitting a woman with a car and leaving the scene. Jennie davis was crossing the street, near north avenue and luna, when she was hit by a car sunday night. She was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries. Prosecutors say mcdowell was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he caused the accident. Divers continue to find the bodies of children who drowned in the south korean ferry disaster. 150 bodies have now been recovered. 152 people are still missing. Divers are feeling for bodies with their hands since they can only see a few inches in front of them. The coast guard now says the first distress call came from a boy onboard, not the crew. The captain and eight crew members now face charges. Authorities say they left the ferry as it sank after they told passengers to stay in their cabins.
