Tonight investigators on scene tell fox 25 the officers are lucky to be alive. Also very lucky that there was no one walking on that very walk when the crash happened because it could have been a very different outcome. Two plane clothes Boston Police officers were stopping the driver of this Nissan Murano when they were dragged. It happened around 7 00 on stratton street in front of the franklin apartment housing complex. The driver put the car in gear. The officers tried to stop them took off with the two officers inside the car changing out from the car driving approximately 100 yards. Investigators on scene tell fox 25 when officer approached the s. U. V. The driver floored it. One officer we know as he was being dragged his foot hit another parked car being dragged down the street a possible egg injury. Reporter the suspect went so fast he crashed into this toyota 4 runner that slammed into this tree. This girl lives right in front of the crash. She says one of the suspects tried to make a run for it. The police got him. I was a little bit scared, yeah. Tonight police tell us the suspect was going well over 70 Miles Per Hour on a very, very you busy street. The suspect tonight is in the hospital. You can its moving off to the panhandle of florida then move up the u. S. East coast watch how these two systems become one. The green are areas of rain and moisture thats what kate. Theres our system in the gulf of mexico and watch how these two kind of merge into one as we head into tuesday. Now heres what has been changing a lot over the last several hours. How much of that moisture reaches us depends on the track this takes. If its more easterly track more of that moisture the remnants of Tropical Storm kate stays out in the atlantic we get maybe a quarter inch of rain late on tuesday. If it hugs the coast we get insure, inch and a half maybe two inches of rain thats a big difference now this morning the computer models are indicating more of a direct hit and higher rainfall amounts than just this evening last couple hours you can kind of tell when more of that green stays out into the atlantic and tense lower rainfall amounts.
