Have seen tornado the worst is over. This is all clearing out of the area. Michelle we are starting our coverage with amy sweezey. This is going to get dropped shortly because the threat of Severe Weather is gone off the coast. Polk county was dropped earlier, more county is dropped as the continue this whole line, the Central Florida stuff is off the coast of brevard county. Some down in south florida this morning. Cocoa beach, melbourne, i95, and a whole bunch of clouds for the rest of us as well. Thick clouds back through i 75 we get rid of this rain, we get rid of the clouds, and we get sunshine later today. We still see some lingering showers. Nothing like the storms we had earlier. That is no longer the case. A little bit of light rain left in a couple of spots but look how clear the radar is to the north and west. Marion county, you are done with the rain. Southern brevard and osceola still dealing with showers. Once the rain moves out, clouds begin to clear, and our temperatures will climb. We did have that Tornado Warning in effect and we were seeing some good rotation on the radar. Eric burris was here with me as well. Alex villareal, we sent her out alex we, right now, are traveling north on 95. We didn t make it down to melbourne. No signs of damage their. I did talk to Melbourne Police a short time ago and they had not seen any damage or gotten any reports. There were other areas hit harder. We are headed back north to cocoa and the area where we believe a tornado might have touched down. That area does not have a lot of houses so the damage may be limited. Rain has lightened up out here. Earlier, we showed steady down pouring. This is good news. We will be updating you as soon as we get to cocoa and we will see what we can see in terms of the impact on the community. Heading to some areas where there could be damage from that storm we saw overnight. Let conroy, we are seeing some slowdowns. We have got a couple of lanes blocked. There are some traffic slowdowns but no major delays as you can see. Drivers have to hit the brakes but they are getting through here. The westbound problems seem to be improving. Heading out, you are going to see no delays on the 408 or i ve for to slow you down. Michelle all this rain is part of the same system that delivered this damaging tornado up north. You can see debris left behind. This is in the town of century near the alabama florida border. A twister hit the panhandle. Escambia was hit especially residents are stuck cleaning up this mess. Those power lines are down, sending a Ripple Effect throughout the area. First responders are helping with the cleanup and assisting residents like one woman who had to be wheeled out of her home. The area was under a Tornado Warning at the time that twister touched down. Also portions of schools in that area were also hit, so classes were canceled as towns spend the day cleaning up. Now, it is a lot of clouds for most of us. That is all we are seeing. I95, south through melbourne and palm bay. Temperatures right now, 55 in melbourne. We will be warm today. Alex amy, the good news here, as you said, the rain has stopped. So we are drying out. But there are still models on the ground here. We are very close to the area where a tornado may have touchdown. We know that there were swirling winds, and it is possible that a tornado did touchdown. The good news, there are not many houses and buildings in this area. You see it is very rural. If something touchdown, it could ve happened in the woods, where there are no people at risk. The National Weather service has not received any reports of damage. They may and out to see if they can spot some. This area is just so rural. We spotted this image at 4 23 a. M. This morning. Again, rotating winds, 110 mile an hour.
