So it is another cold morning but notice the winds at or below 10 miles per hour. So no brutal wind chills to pass along this morning. Winds are going to turn around to the south this afternoon. Look what happens to our temperatures. We sneak up into the teens here by noontime. And into the 20s this afternoon. Sunshine this morning though going to fade behind increasing clouds. Morning but the clouds coming at us from the south and the west whistling along with this warm front. An area of snow breaking around d. C. This morning. That will be moving in here during the evening commute. We have a wirnt weather advisory up for that reason through early tomorrow morning. Just a little burst of snow and then it changes over to some freezing rain, sleet and eventually all rain but it does get a little slippery out on the roads as we head into this evening and first half of tonight. Sneaking of the roads lets get you out there now. They are dry. Olessa the roads are dry and quiet. The mbta wants to make sure that trains are running smoothly this morning. Crews spent the day in charlestown preparing replacement rails. Several rails broke from the cold today. Temporary rails are in, and permanent rails will go in soon. The t says it will keep red and orange line trains underground in tunnels overnight to limit their exposure to the cold. Of course if there are any problem s with the trains ill keep you posted. Breaking overnight. Raging flames tear through an Apartment Building in worcester. Just look at the dramatic video from the scene. And this was a brutal battle for firefighters. Crews leaving the scene a short time ago. We have cell phone video of this raging fire from earlier. You can see flames bursting from the roof and the windows. One man was inside the building at the time of this fire. Firefighters say the sub zero temperatures made fighting this a real challenge. The deputy chiefs tell telling us the hydrants were not frozen but the lines and ladders were. Basically all of our equipment is frozen. The pipes are frozen. The ladder pipes are frozen. It was just a difficult time getting some water on it. Frank this is the third fire in the city overnight. Firefighters also battled a pair of two alarm fires.
