For hours weve saw tow trucks cycling back and forth to clear this mess and reopen the interstate. vo Indiana State Police say 40 cars and trucks many of those semis smashed into each other almost like a domino effect as a blinding wall of snow was moving through. Were told there were two separate strings of collisions the first beginning with a jackknifed big rig. Many of the people caught up in this were brought to a nearby store for shelter. As this was all happening some of them rescuers by guiding them to the people in need. Another guy we were helping i gave out my coat to john from all this Indiana State Police say only 6 people were taken to the hospital of them with lifethreatening injuries. Smith died after being taken to the hospital. The driver of the semi was also taken to the hospital. But is expected to survive. Elderly man was found dead in an icy pond days after family reported him missing. Ohio county sheriffs deputies believe 87year old clarence marker was checking his muskrat traps when he fell in the water.
