Thats why we asked mr. Presidemr. Putin many questions about the alleged russian interference. President putin, you have repeatedly and passionately denied that russia was behind the interference of our american president ial election. As you know, the consensus view is that you did. Thats what the 17 intelligence agencies concluded and the republicans and the democrats on the oversight committees who have seen the classified reports have said. Are they lying . Translator they have been misled. And they arent analyzing the information on its entirety. I havent seen even once any direct proof of russian interferen interference in the president ial election of the United States. You said for months that russia had nothing to do with the interfeesrence of the election. And this week, you floated the idea of patriotic hackers doing it. Why the hanchange . And why now . Translator i didnt say anything. French journalists asked me about the hackers. I told them the same thing i told you. Hackers can be anywhere. They can be in russia, asia, america, latin america. There can be hackers in the United States, who skillfully and professionally shifted the blame, as we say, on to russia. I will tell you something that you probably already know. I dont want to hurt anyones feelings. But the United States, everywhere, all over the world, actively interferes with the electoral campaigns around in other countries. And so, in this regard, even if we wanted to, it wouldnt make sense for us to interfere. Theres been questions in america about Donald Trumps finances. He hasnt released his tax returns. Theres been questions about a secret russian dossier, which she says is fake. But reports to have blackmail information generated by the russians. Theres been questions about the kremlin and the trump campaign. All has americans asking, do you have something damages on our president . Translator well, this is just another load of nonsense. Where do we get the information from . Did we have a special relationship with him . There was a time when he used to come to moscow. But i never met with him. We have a lot of americans that visit us. Fascinating conversation. Outside of the conversation about the alleged interference, what else struck you . What was the most intense part of the exchange . The exchange we had on the economic forum, when i had a chance to get into it with him. And we had a Contentious Exchange on syria, which is posted online, where he tried to suggest that assad did not use chemical weapons on his people. And i said, the World Health Organization has conducted the autopsies of the bodies. Are you purporting to tell us it was fake . That the tapes we saw of the dying children are fake . And he said, theres another answer and you know it. And we got back and forth. It was the one time in all the exchange with him on stage and our oneonone, where i thought, may have gotten a little too far out there. He may be upset. Maybe i pushed it too far. But in retrospect, i think it was fine. He did sit with us for the oneonone after the fact. It ended fine. He denies the u. S. Meddling in the election. But our intelligence agencies say its not even a close call. He lied. Well, to say this is the first time he said first of all, you guys do it, too. I said that sounds like a justification. He says every action has an opposite and equal reaction. Thats close to, i ordered the code red, that were going to get. When youre sitting in that room, was it just the two of you. What was it like . Did he have a lot of people in the room . Oh, yeah. By that point, i had spent so much time with him, it wasnt intimidating. I had felt i had gotten to know him a little bit. We had dinner at the palace. And we sat together for several hours. And i did the interview. By the time we were across each other, he was warm behind the scenes. Did you have scuba experience before you did this . No. We had a crash course. An afternoon in a Swimming Pool in los angeles. We did two openwater dives. We were on our way to shoot the film. This movie, it is absolutely fantastic. My best friends wedding, noting hill, and this is right up there with it. Let me tell you why. Two sisters on vacation. One is having problems with her marriage or whatever. You can relate to it. But you hold this movie on your own. You make this happen, right. Then, how would i handle it . If i was under water like that. What would you do . Completely out of control. All these extenuating factors and circumstances, layer upon layer of problem after problem. Were trapped at the bottom of the ocean. We have an hours worth of air. We think we know where the movie is going to go. Were not sure. Youre filming, how often would you come up you know, while youre to change air tanks and stuff. We would go down with an entire tank. And we would surface again when the tank was almost finished. About 30, 40 minutes. An hour, hour and a half, depending how much youre exerti exerting ourselves in the water. Four to five oxygen tanks. Seven weeks under water. Did you have to worry about decompression and all that stuff . Yes. Because a movie had never been done with actors spent so much time consecutive under water, they didnt know what the affects would be. Thats crazy. I scuba dive and i would never do anything like that. We were also in a tank. We were only about 20 feet under water. Not like we were shooting didnt look like it. Its believable. When people go on trips, you do that. You get in a cage. Youll only be down for a few minutes. You get to see nature under water and you come back up. This takes a turn for the worse. I have done live shots under water, trying to talk in a scuba tank. The muscle control in your mom a stomach and getting everything not to sound breathy. Was that a challenge . It was a lot. It was a learning experience for the two of us. We had never obviously, i had some experience in a tank. But acting under water is different. Trying to cry with a mask on is really odd. You cant wipe your tears. Your mask starts to fog up. Dont die. Before you leave, i feel like our viewers would attack us, if we didnt ask you, really quickly this is us.
