She goes rolled down the window, you know. And she goes, i dont want to be too bold, can i give you my phone number . Im thinking, oh, i still got it. You know . [ light laughter ] so im about to say, well, thats very nice and im, you know, a happily married guy. So i go, thats very nice and she goes, im a private nurse. If you ever need a nurse, you call me. [ laughter ] i realized, you know, she doesnt oh wait, she doesnt recognize me. Im just an old guy in an old car. [ light laughter ] and im like, oh jimmy im a private nurse. Im a private nurse. Jimmy oh, my gosh. If you ever need a nurse, you can call me. I go, yeah, no, im okay. Yeah, hilarious. Hilarious. Jimmy im sure youve heard the news, the sad passing of don rickles. I know. I just found i got here tonight when i got to the studio. Jimmy yeah, yeah. Yeah, that was really sad. It was really jimmy its always sad to see a legend go. You know, i love that whole generation of comics. Don, and of course rodney. Jimmy yeah. You know, ill tell you a a great rodney story. I was pretty close to rodney. And when rodney was in the hospital, he was in a coma. And he only had a couple days left to live. And his wife joan, god bless her, she was by his side the whole time. And i go to visit rodney and were standing there and she goes, well, jay, take rodneys hand. So i take rodneys hand. And she says, rodney, if you know jays here, squeeze his finger. Okay, so i feel my finger get squeezed. And i lean in and i said to rodney, rodney, thats not my finger. [ laughter and applause ] and rodney and i could see rodney kind of you know, he just [ laughter ] you know . And i felt i felt good. I made one of my favorite guys laugh. Jimmy hes the great oh, man, he made me laugh. Rodney, thats not my finger. [ light laughter ] jimmy its its sad to lose legends, but, you know, when comedians just talking about other comedians but theres nothing greater than comedian funerals. I mean i know it sounds morbid but everybody [ light laughter ] because everybody does everybody does the best jokes. Jimmy yeah. The best one i ever went to, there was a comedian named joey roth. He was old when i was starting out. He was on car 54 a lot. Hes the guy that would go, oh, oh. He would jimmy oh, yeah, yeah, yeah of course. But he spent every dime on hookers. Every dime of it. [ light laughter ] so when he died, at the service the rabbi says, anyone who would like to speak. So theres a line of hookers. [ laughter ] all in their mid50s with the leopard skin halter tops, you know. [ light laughter ] and the first one got up and says, joey always paid. [ laughter ] he always paid. He always paid. Jimmy always and then another girl gets up and she goes, joey was a a gentleman. He always stopped the car. Other guys would just slow down and push you out. [ laughter ] but he always stopped. He opened the door. Meanwhile, the rabbi is like going like this, you know. Then another one gets up. And she tells a story i dont know how to put this delicately. You remember the old cars from the 60s and the 70s, they had all the chrome, horn ring with all the chrome . Jimmy yeah, of course, yeah. Okay, well she got her hair caught in the in the metal part of the horn ring. The cop pulls them over. The cops going, you want to get out of the car . She goes, i cant get out of the car. The cop takes his pen knife, has to cut her hair to get her out of the car. [ light laughter ] shes telling this heartfelt story heartfelt story. But my favorite one, the last one gets up and shes got a a glass eye. [ light laughter ] and shes crying. But shes crying like this. [ wailing ] [ light laughter ] and the eyes not moving. It was like it was like the most surreal. It was like the craziest thing id ever seen in my life. Jimmy i thank you, i love every time we ask you to come on and do a thing for us and do a thing. Jimmy so you would just be going just going to texas, and just vomiting and then just getting there. But every time you got there, why that state line . Just, it stuck in your head . I guess so.
