Were told he went swimming with three other teens last night. The others returned to shore. The coast guard joined Philadelphia Police and fire crews in that search. This morning, the search continues for two men who opened fire on a father and his young son. They were sitting on their porch in kensington when the gunmen rode up on bikes and started shooting. Police say two men rode up on bikes, they fired those shots while the father and son were sitting on the porch. Neighbors heard the gunfire and the commotion outside. Makes me want to cry, because, you know, its a baby. Its not something that you want to hear from nobody. You know, especially, you know, someones kid that you were out there, just barbecuing or doing whatever outside with your kids, just trying to have fun. And your kid winds up getting hurt. An arraignment in Delaware County is set today for a man charged with the murder of his girlfriend. Crystalin thomas was found shot dead at her home in darby. Police say her child her children were at the scene. The suspect, edward moses jr. Of southwest philadelphia, is the father of thomas two kids. Police tell us the victims mother discovered her daughters body yesterday morning. Investigators believe an argument between thomas and moses led to the deadly shooting. Relatives and neighbors are now speaking out. Being arrested will never brick crystalin back. Okay . But give him what he deserves. Prosecutors say Richard Rojas was high on marijuana and pcp when he plowed his car into the crowd on thursday. He reportedly told police he wanted to, quote, kill them all. In a 2012 police report, investigators say rojas told police in florida that he wanted to kill officers. Rojas is now charged with murder and 20 counts of attempted murder in the crash. Passengers and crew members worked together to subdue a man who tried to russh the cockpit n an American Airlines plane. The flight was headed from los angeles to honolulu yesterday. Police say a Flight Attendant blocked his way by jamming a service cart in the aisle. Passengers helped duct tape him to a seat. In new castle county, a man faces charges after witnesses say he ran over a little girl, not once, but twice before driving off. Elijah meredith is free on bail in the hitandrun case. The toddler remains in the hospital. Youre looking at video of 15monthold leah purdue. Friends and family say the incident stems from a dispute with leahs mother over 100. Neighbors say they couldnt believe what they were seeing, as leahs mother ran for help. She came running in the house with blood all over her. And the baby had a big gash this her forehead. And it was like, the blook bld all over her. Reporter medics rushed little leah to the hospital with a skull fracture, cuts and bruises. Philadelphia is taking new steps to battle the deadly opioid epidemic. Yesterday, mayor jim kenney and Governor Tom Wolf joined Health Officials at city hall. Advocates hope the new guidelines will help boost prevention and education and improve Treatment Options for people battling Substance Use disorders. We have seen the cost of inaction to epidemics in the past and we cannot let this happen again to so many more families. Mayor kenney also says some recommendations from the task force are now city policy. Chaka fattah jr. , convicted felon and son of a former philadelphia congressman, is suing the federal government for 10 million. Yesterday, a judge set a june 20th date to hear the case. Fattah claims the feds violated his rights and damaged his ability to earn a living after an agent tipped off the media about a raid at his center city apartment. Fattah is now serving five years in prison for bank and tax fraud. This morning in philadelphia, more than 400 people will participate in the milliondollar bike ride. It begins at highline park on penns campus. The ride supports people with rare diseases. Over the past three years, the event has raised more than 3. 5 million for research. Notice we are seeing some showers moving into berks county, the Lehigh Valley, bucks county, it will also look like Chester County seeing one or two isolated downpours, and all of this will be moving from west to east, and we are tracking a cold front also moving down from the northwest towards the southeast, so cooler temperatures and a kickup in those wind speeds. Philadelphia neighborhood temperatures right now seeing lots of low 60s. Andorra currently at 62 degrees. Manayunk in the mid60s. For you, bustleton, 64. And somerton, current temperature, 61 degrees. Were pretty much going to stay in the 60s all day long. Temperatures unseasonably chilly for today. Lehigh valley also seeing chilly temperatures. Leonardsville currently at 55 degrees. Leaseport, 59. We have that northeasterly influence as far as the winds are concerned. White hall, current temperature, 58 degrees.
