That being said, it is cooler this morning. Were running 5 to 10 degrees cooler. 76 degrees now in philadelphia. The suburbs starting to brighten up as were getting closer to sunrise this morning. 74 degrees currently in the suburbs and the temperatures will be climbing from the 70s into the 90s this afternoon. 95 degrees in philadelphia will feel like 100 degrees and into the 90s for the Lehigh Valley, new jersey and even at the shore today, topping out at 90 this afternoon. One person was shot during another night of riots over a Deadly Policeinvolved shooting saturday afternoon. Cars were set on fire and five separate shootings were reported. One Police Officer was hit by a rock. Another was hurt when something smashed the window of a squad car. The policeinvolved shooting of silvil smith smashinged these riots. The officer was wearing a camera and police say he was holding a gun. We continue to follow breaking news in philadelphia. We have seen a few people making their Early Morning jog around the city. We did see a lot of people over the weekend trying to cool off as best as they could, carrying water with them everywhere they went. The folks who did have to stay outside, we saw they didnt stay outside for very long before they took that break indoors in some air conditioning. We did have three heatrelated deaths in philadelphia over the weekend. And over the next couple of days, it will be a very good idea to check on the senior and the neighbors. Keep the kids and pets outside for as little time as possible. We also saw construction workers, firefighters, they were taking frequent breaks, especially with all the gear they carry. The heat, obviously is very dangerous. This happened in this target parking lot in bensalem township. An offduty officer spotted the car inside the car and managed to pry the door. The child spent 15 minutes inside the car in 115 degree heat. The baby is doing okay. The grandmother and aunt told police they forgot the infan when they went shopping. New details are expected to be released about a berks county murder suicide that left a family of five dead. Police found a gun an a suicide note. They have not said who did the shooting. Police say a woman was shot as she sat in the passengers seat around 11 30 last night. She was sitting in the van with a friend at wakeling street. The driver of the van and the shooter have not been found. This is video in to nbc 10 showing a massive fire the a Lancaster County business. It started just after midnight. No one was hurt. Were still working to find out what kind of business this is. Happening today in norristown, the jury in the Kathleen Kane perjury trial is expected to get the case after lawyers make their closing arguments. Pennsylvanias attorney general is accused of leaking grand jury information to the media and then lying about it under oath. Kane didc not testify. Her lawyers presented no evidence and called no witnesses but maintained her innocence. Kane faces up to seven years in prison if shes convicted. Atlantic city will honor americas military today. World war ii veterans will serve as grand marshals of the citys sixth annual parade saluting Americas Armed forces. Members of coast guard and Army Marching Band will also participate. Theyre either going to find Kathleen Kane guilty or not guilty of lying about grand jury information, giving that information to a reporter and then lying about it. The defense rested without calling any witnesses too the stand friday or presenting any evidence. Kane told the judge she felt like the case against her was so weak she would not take the stand. Prosecutors called multiple witnesses to the stand. They testified that kane was the source of the grand jury leak. The political operative on the other side of this information is josh murrow. He testified that he and kane plotted to get even with a former amplform former a. G. Staffer they blamed for the incident. Devastating evidence against the attorney general. Kanes Defense Strategy might work, that none of this actually matt matters. Thats what they are trying to tell the jury. If thats the case should could be found not guilty. Its burned down at least ten homes, mandatory evacuations are forcing some 4,000 residents out of their homes. No one has been hurt. Meantime, more rain and flooding possible today in louisiana. The president declared the state a disaster, meaning federal money will be available. More than 10,000 people are waking up in shelters today. In fact, around midday youll see that 90 degree mark at the shore and it will feel like 99 degrees at the shore this afternoon. Thats at 3 00 this afternoon. And inland, youll find those dangerously High Temperatures again today. So the dangerous heat continues. Afternoon temperatures will soar, which is why weve issued a first alert for philadelphia, the suburbs, new jersey and the shore. And for delaware today, tomorrow, into tomorrow evening, thats when we see very hot and humid conditions with feelslike temperatures of 98 to 100 degrees over the next couple days. Were tracking some showers and thunderstorms, not during the day today but tonight, thats a possibility for our area during the evening hours. This is 5 30 this afternoon. Were completely dry for scranton, philadelphia and wilmington. They will move through central pennsylvania and into the suburbs by 10 30 this evening. You can see the storms on the move. Heavy downpours are possible in delaware and south jersey. Thunderstorms will move offshore and well have another round of wet weather for tomorrow. For today, right now it is clear of any rain, but you can see the system that were watching for later this afternoon. In central pennsylvania and for this evening it is stretching from ohio through indiana, into Southern Illinois. So thats this evening.
