For the past five days, protesters have taken to the streets and more protests expected today. Vai, no signs that protesters are going to stop or slow down. The demonstration they held lasted several hours as protesters moved from west philly to the delaware river. What you see is part of the protest that took place in the city last night. Protesters shut down streets as they marched through center city to get to city hall. Police followed along shutting down Market Street so that protesters could demonstrate safely. There were no issues reported between police and protesters. Former Police Commissioner, charles ramsey, was on meet the press yesterday. He said here in philly, there is a task force on the team. There need to be a real change. Protesters are calling for attention to the divide. We need to keep it in context. Police officers have a very challenging and often dangerous job. That is not to say we should not be mindful of the fact that we have some officers that use Excessive Force and shoot people when it is not totally justified. We have to address that and hold them accountable. It is not a reflection of the department and policing at larnl. There was also a demonstration in lower maryland. This issue of police in the public moving from the city and suburbs as protesters have said they will not stop until there is change. Philadelphia was not alone last night. Protest demanding justice for africanamericans killed by police in continued in cities across the nation. In atlanta, in memphis, dozens of people occupy the bridge there. In los angeles, protesters carried signs. A limited number of arrests. The National Bar Association is offering legal help to people that were arrested. Lawyers want to know why the protesters were arrested on state charges which require a judge to set bond before they can be released. Lawyers say city charges could have been applied which set bonds automatically without a judge the skyline in dallas texas is bathed in blue. The city continues to pay tribute to the officers both killed and wounded in last weeks sniper ambush. The tragedy could have been much worse. Officials are learning more about the shooter who ambushed and killed five Police Officers thursday night. Authorities said Micah Johnson practiced setting off explosives. They are hoping these additional cars help alleviate the travel headaches that arose last week after they unexpectedly had to remove a third of their train from service because of structural problems. Out here live along the melrose park station, you can see, there are very few people waiting because a train just pulled up and took as many people as they could. The conductor was telling me, most of the train cars on that one are full. Regional rail trains are already running late here seeing problems. It they are by passing other stations.
