Also doing just fine lets zoom in to the vine street expressway. Either direction, the roadways still pretty well out there now. Take your time. Watch for slick spots. As you see, eastbound 495, were going to be fine. Westbound for the schuylkill, obviously no delays. Thats always great news out there. Lets look at 422 now. Either direction, still very green. The memorial day holiday took to the skies last night as a fireworks display at penns landing there lit up the philadelphia skyline. That begins with a wreath laying ceremony at 2 00 this afternoon. Thats not all. Youre looking at video from last years festivities. There are several events happening throughout our area today that are centered around the sacrifice of our service members. In lansdale, a parade steps off on main street at 9 00 followed by a 10 00 ceremony at memorial park. Language horn and bristol langhorne and bristol bucks county has a parade. They placed 160,000 roses on graves at the cemetery. The practice began in 2011. Today the same volunteers will hand out thousands more rouses o visitors and family of fallen troops. Today President Trump will visit Arlington National cemetery to honor americas fallen. Youre looking at his visit the day before his inauguration in january. Today the president will place a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier. Hell also speak at a remembrance ceremony. Vice president mike pence will honor memorial day by kicking off the project hero bike ride in washington. The annual cycling event raises funds for a nonprofit that helps wounded veterans, particularly those suffering from post Traumatic Stress disorder. President trump is back at the white house after his trip overseas. Yeah. And hes facing new questions about the russia investigation. Reports say the president and his White House Team are bracing for those questions. Multiple sources confirm his soninlaw and adviser, jared kushner, is under scrutiny by the fbi. According to the washington post, kushner tried to set up Backchannel Communications with russia. Not a target, and so i think i would just wait. New overnight, south koreas president has called for a security meetings hours after north korea conducted another missile test. The u. S. Military says they fired what appears to be a shortrange missile off the east coast this morning. The missile was tracked for six minutes until it landed in the sea of japan. Thats about 280 miles from where it was launched. On sunday, north korea claimed to have tested a new type of antiaircraftguided weapon. Former Vice President mike pence is endorsing a candidate in the new jersey governors race calling the contest the most important in the nation. Biden was in north jersey yesterday at a rally for phil murphy, the democratic frontrunner. Murphy served under former president barack obama as ambassador to germany. Murphy and his rivals are looking to succeed republican governor chris christie. Six democrats are vying for the gubernatorial nomination. Thats when the state will announce who can grow, process, and dispense the drug. Nbc10 was in Lancaster County where advocates and doctors discussed details of the process. Pennsylvania legalized medical marijuana last year, but it will not be distributed until 2018. State senator andy dinaman supports it saying patients suffering from various illnesses will benefit. There is no reason why we should not make this medication available when we know that there are those whose conditions can be assisted. There have been hundreds of applicants sent in, but only 40 across the state will get to grow, process, and dispense the drug for medical purposes. 5 15 on this memorial day. Pennsylvania state police are warning residents about a spoofing scam. Police say a call appears to come from a number linked to a state police station. The caller tells the person that they are being investigated by the fbi for tax evasion, and that they must make an immediate 8,000 payment. Youre urged to never disclose personal information over the phone to an unknown number. And Delaware State Police will now be equipped with a lifesaving drug. Troopers will be given narcan kits to carry with them while on patrol. The drug is used to reverse the effects of opioid overdoses. State police say troopers will first undergo a Narcan Training program. Pennsylvania state troopers and new Jersey State Police are already equipped with the drug. A warning for all drivers as the summer driving season nears. This week is National Tire safety week. The national Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reminding drivers to check your tire pressure at least once a month.
