Overnight, new jersey jumped from having the Second Lowest gas tax in the nation to the sixth highest. We found plenty of people filling their gas tanks before the tax kicked in. And its sad because people cant afford big vacations. But you can afford maybe a trip to the playground or the aquarium, the zoo. Now you have to factor in gas, too, because it is going to make a big difference in peoples lives. The state lawmakers approved the gas tax hike to help pay for transportation projects. Next week, new jersey voters will decide where the extra money will be used. Premature birth rates were nearly 48 higher among black women and 15 higher among American Indian women when compared to white women. Andersons nonprofit offers free haircuts to the homeless and she does it a few times a week. Anderson says she does this for her dad, a homeless vet who passed away recently. All he ever wanted was a haircut. Her charity has done almost 300 haircuts since april. Ic hear how they go out fo job interviews, how the haircut made them look and feel like a human being.
