Checking with new jersey roads, over in bellmawr, theres a closing of the ramp around the pike. Power outage caused problems for passengers starting around 6 30 last night. This was tweeted out by a rider, who says he spent hours on a stalled train without electricity. The problem was the result of downed wires. Crews have been working through the night to get the line up and running for the morning commute. Well let you know as soon as we have information. Now, to a developing story. Electricity was just restored to a highrise Apartment Building in south philadelphia. Nbc 10 was on the scene at the Wilson Park Apartments along jackson street. It was one of several locations that lost electricity because of a problem with a nearby electrical pole. At the height of the outage, almost 900 customers lost power. Philadelphia police want to know who shot a 6yearold girl. A bullet hit the child outside of her home in philadelphias germantown section. Matt, tell us what you know about the shooting and the victim. Reporter the girl is recovering at the hospital at this hour. She was hit by two bullets. And her aunt tells us she suffered a collapsed lung and broken ribs. The girl was hit by the bullets last night on the 6300 block of North Woodstock street. This is in the germantown neighborhood. Police say the girl was playing in front of the house when that gunfire started. 21 shots were fired from two different guns. And police say they cant imagine in a anyone would intentionally shoot a 6yearold. They think these are stray bullets that hit her. No arrests or motives yet. She was transferred to st. Christophers after her condition stabilized. They are looking for the person or people who fired gunshots last night. And police are checking the area for Surveillance Video. If you know anything, give them a call. Live outside of st. Christophers hospital for children. Police are investigating a shooting just before 1 30 this morning in germantown, about a block from where that girl was hit. Theyre looking into the possibility that the shootings may be connected. Officers found a car hit by gunfire. They followed the blood trail to norwood street, where a man had a gunshot wound to his arm and leg. Hes in the hospital in stable condition. Philadelphia police hope that new Surveillance Video will help them find a second car that was street racing before a crash that killed a child earlier this week. Video shows two cars moving down center street. The lighter colored car killed esther palmer. The darker colored car hit a traffic light and took off. Police are searching for that car. A memorial grows for esther. We spoke to one man who considered her to be like a niece. I used to love to see that little girl smile. She was so precious and beautiful. She was a bundle of joy. A strict confidentiality agreement prevents them from talking about. Eight people died and 200 were hurt when the train sped into a curve and crashed in may of last year. A new Justice Department report finds Baltimore Police routinely stop, search and arrest africanamericans with little or no cause. The problem was traced back to a 1990s decision by the police department. The department pushed zero tolerance enforcement. Encouraging officers to make stops and arrest without much training. Over a fiveyear period over 300,000 people were stopped. The city has agreed to make reforms to stop civil rights violation. And the death of freddie gray sparked the investigation.
