Right now on nbc 10 news today, 17 gun shots fired on the streets of north philadelphia. Two teens were targeted and one was killed. Well tell you what police say is one possible motive behind the shooting. And onlookers watched as a skydiver dangled from a plane. For this new work week, overhead bridge work on the vine street expressway ramp to 95 southbound and the 95 northbound between the boulevard and the vine street expressway and 95 southbound right around vine so you want to watch all of those places for intermittent closures for the overhead bridge work for this rest of this morning. Actually dont know what this is. The back of a whale. Go back to 422 and right around trooper road, 8 minutes, no problems to the schuylkill expressway. And average speed 61 Miles Per Hour, even through all of the road work around the trooper road section of 422. Bridges, doing great, but Burlington Bristol scheduled for an opening around 4 40. Maybe sit and take that cup of coffee longer this morning. Thanks. Were following developing story out of philadelphia now. A teenager is murdered. Philadelphia police really want to know if road rage was the motive for two men opening fire at the teen and his friend as they rode their bikes. Matt delucia is live outside Philadelphia Police headquarters. What can you tell us . Reporter chris, and tracy, no arrests at this point and the only witness in this case is one of the boys who had shots fired at him. Here is video of the scene. 17 shots were fired in all, police tell us a 16yearold was shot in the back and he died at temple hospital. You can see in the video the two bikes on the ground. And heres what we found out from Philadelphia Police. This happened yesterday afternoon a little after 4 30 on the 2200 block of west sedgely. The two were told were riding bikes down that road, came up behind a silver buick that had four men inside. At some point police say the boys realized that something wasnt right so they turned to get away, but at least two of the men got out and started chasing them, firing 17 shottings. We spoke with a pastor who is in that neighborhood. He says the streets have only gotten worse. Any time you hear about kids thats sad, its a shame you cant even ride the streets no more. Reporter at this point again there have not been arrests but the other boy, he is 15, he was not injured. He was able to talk with detectives last night telling them he has never seen these men before. And we talked with investigators so far no confirmed motive but they are working on the theory that this could be a case of road rage. Well stay on top of this. Matt delucia, nbc 10 news. Happening today in the lehigh valley, jury selection in the trial of a man accused of killing his step daughter and abusing her corpse. Authorities say gregory graph shot and killed jessica a year ago. Police found her body behind a shed. Opening statements are expected to begin next week. The cause of this deadly Apartment Fire in Montgomery County remains under investigation this morning, cell phone video shows the power of the fire at this apartment complex in plymouth township saturday. We know one woman died in the blaze. Fire crews say the building did not have sprinklers. Wood frame structure. So without the sprinklers it moves pretty quick. There are some fire walls but a lot of them. 30 people are receiving assistance from the apartment complex and the american red cross. 4 36 now. New word on whether a woman will face charges after spca officers rescued nearly 80 animals from her apartment in lancaster last week. Officials say a Maintenance Worker made the discovery in the town of litit. 65 guinea pigs, ten rabbits and a dog investigators found, also found three dead animals. President obama praised efforts by police to improve relationship with communities that are struggling with crime. Nbc news interviewed one of the victims last year in turkeyy and spoke to his brother after the attack. He says an old friend that defected moved next door and was able to lure them before they were killed. In the middle of the interview the brother says he even got a text from the suspect saying that he did it. He says i did it and were coming for you. Yes. He said just wait.
