Now your nbc 10 first alert weather with chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz. Well, been in the 60s three days in a row, but that is all over with because weve got wind and weve got falling temperatures. Cold, gusty winds. Were tracking snow coming in thursday night and into friday, but thats not going to last either because we could get into the 70s next week. Some warm weather coming back. The flag still blowing hard, but its not quite as windy as it was a couple of hours ago. The temperature though keeps dropping, 41 degrees. The wind 22, gusting to 37 miles an hour, plus its 14 degrees colder than it was at this time yesterday. And as we go through the afternoon, you can see that its kind of leveling off with the temperature. And with the wind were seeing windchills the way it feels to your skin near the freezing mark. And then take a big drop as we go into the evening. So its going to be feeling like the 20s by later this evening. And thats in philadelphia it will be feeling even colder than that north and west where its only in the 30s right now and probably wont get into the 40s during the rest of the day today. 36 in pottstown and lancaster the cold spots. And the windchills, the way it feels to exposed skin, in the mid 20s north and west. And that is going to continue to go down. Its going to be colder this afternoon, at least the way it feels, than it did earlier this morning perhaps when you got up. 40mileanhour gust at mt. Pocono, 30 to 40mileanhour gust pretty uniform across the area. And pretty uniform sunshine across the region. Were watching way out to the west for the next system to be affecting us. Its going to take a little while. You can see on the futurecast just starting to show up on the map. And thats tomorrow morning. By tomorrow afternoon were still dry. So no threat for tomorrow afternoons rush. But then as we go through thursday night and into friday morning, weve got a storm down off the coast. And it should be cold enough for snow across much of the area, right into the morning rush on friday. And even perhaps into the afternoon. So were talking about a lot of hours of snow, but temperatures are marginal. And once we get past sunrise friday, thats a powerful march sun out there to fight against any snow trying to stick on roads. Theres thursday morning. And were in the 20s. And during the afternoon its not that warm. Were only in the 30s. So its plenty cold enough for snow as we go into thursday night and friday morning. But watch what happens here for the friday morning rush. Temperatures very marginal. And farther to the south its well above freezing. To the north and west where there may be a little bit less snow, the temperatures a little bit lower. But some snow should be falling during much of the morning rush across much of the area. And that darker blue indicating heavier snow. So if theres a potential for a good amount of accumulation, even if its just on the grass, it might be in central delaware, up into south jersey, because that will be closer to the center of the storm itself. Of course more coming later as new data is coming in. Gusty winds and colder this afternoon. Temperatures pretty much the way they are now. Sunny and cold tomorrow. And then the snow comes in later thursday night and into friday. A cold start to the weekend, but then look what happens next week. By next tuesday 66, and we could be 70 by wednesday. Amazing. Thank you, glenn. Cursed cruise ship. Details on another illfated voyage for passengers of the royal caribbeans anthem of the seas. And later, fashion commotion. Now your nbc 10 first alert weather with chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz. Yeah, it certainly felt like spring over the last few days, but that has changed. Its all ready changed. Its gusty and colder today if you havent gotten out since early this morning, it feels colder now than it did at that time. Were still tracking snow, but it looks like it could be affecting the friday morning rush hour. And at the same time were really going to warm up next week, we could hit 70 degrees at least one of those days chlgt bright sunshine out there now. Its not really helping to push the temperature up. Its actually been going down. 41 degrees, the wind 22 gusting to 37 miles an hour. That adds to the chill of course. Its not even to 40 Degrees North and west. Temperatures in the 30s, 28 in mt. Pocono. Its 40 in wilmington. 40 in millville. 39 in glassboro. 42 in dover and atlantic city. Those are the warm spots. And the feels like temperatures generally in the 20s north and west, low 30s across delaware and south jersey. And thats not really going to change very much during the day at all. The wind still gusting 30 to 40 miles an hour, strongest gusts right now at mt. Pocono weve had gusts of 45 miles an hour in parts of the area this morning. You can see the dry air here, the cold air coming over the great lakes cause those clouds and snow showers not making it across the mountains under these conditions. The next area were watching still pretty far away. Hasnt really built up that much yet, but its going to move quickly. And the storm is going to develop along the east coast. Its going to move fairly quickly, so theres not going to be one of those long lasting ones, but its going to be cold enough. Look at this. Theres tonight temperatures dropping into the 20s. And as you can see during the day tomorrow it doesnt really warm up much, may not even get to 40 in much of the area. So thats cold air mass. And then later thursday night the snow starts to come in. At first its light of course. Theres 7 00 a. M. Friday. The darker blues indicating a little bit heavier snow. Of course theres the rain farther to the south, so just north of this rain snow line could be the area that gets the most snow out of this, but a lot of this would be melting as you can see with temperatures above freezing and the strong march sun having a double impact on that. Heres one of our latest computer models as far as how much snow is going to fall out of this. An inch or two, perhaps a little bit more in southern delaware and extreme south jersey. Well update that this afternoon. Temperatures into the low 40s this afternoon. Not really moving very much. Were cold tonight. Cold tomorrow. Theres the snow tomorrow night and into friday. The weekend is cold especially the start of it. And then look at the temperatures skyrocket next week. Well be right back. Ive been a turkey farmer my whole life.
