Of course we came to the beach. Reporter on the delaware beaches a great place to be. Reporter the water is extra warm, the sand is extra hot. No flipflops, sprint up to the Ice Cream Store where sales actually go down when the temperature goes up this high. Quite a few people are coming up. Not as much as a normal day because its so hot. The ice cream melts really fast. Reporter out at the water park, water, water everywhere. A huge bucket will dump on your head. A cooler alternative to the beach today. Being in the sand, being real hot walking through it. The water parks great, too. Reporter not much breeze to help them out today. One of the few days it may not be great to work on a beach, its that hot. Drink a lot of water, try to find shade whenever possible. Reporter businesses do okay today. Fewer people on the sand can mean more people in the shops. The cultured pearl restaurant has one of the best decks on the beach. The atmosphere is unbeatable up here. Reporter not a great day to have lunch out here. But when the sun goes down, the breeze will pick up and this place will be packed despite the heat. It will be fine. Today lawyers for Kathleen Kane closed their case without calling a single witness. Multiple prosecution witnesses testified that kane leaked grand jury information to a reporter, but today kane told the judge she doesnt feel prosecutors made their case saying she didnt think it was necessary to testify. Closing arguments are now set for monday. Innocent children shot. Two 6yearolds victims of gunfire in different parts of philadelphia within just 48 hours. And this is the face of the most recent victim last night. He is in Critical Condition right now. Tonight phillys top cop wants people to speak up and come forward with information. Randy gyllenhaal joining us live from Police Headquarters on the heartbreaking stories. Reporter jim, police are offering up to a 10,000 reward in both of those cases. They say these suspects were firing discriminately last night, dozens of shots, one of them actually had an ak47. At this point police say they dont have many leads and need help from the public. So, please, come forward even if you dont want to give your name. Reporter a plea for help from philly police after two 6yearolds were hit by stray gunfire just days apart. The citys Police Commissioner left shaking his head. Reckless disregard for the life, and now you have a 6yearold fighting for his life. Reporter brown was the most recent victim, sitting in his godfathers car last night when a gun battle erupted outside. The boys family says he was hit in the chest with highpowered ammunition. Somebody needs to speak up and say something. Peoples children are dying for no reason. Reporter three others were wounded in the shootout. Police believe two rival groups may have taken a turf war to the streets. One suspect had an ak47, sending bullets flying into homes and bedrooms. Over here reporter Julian Williams was nearly caught in the crossfire. Almost penetrated the brick. A big hole. Looks like it was a rifle. Reporter police are now searching for a new model mercury mountain ee the suspects were caught on video leaving the scene. But many on this block now worry theyll come back. Whos selling these guns to these young people out here. It doesnt make no accepts. This is not a military reporter earlier this week, a 6yearold girl was also hit by stray gunfire. Philadelphia feeling near 100 degrees right now. But it felt hotter earlier today. Were in heat wave number five right now. Today we got to 97 degrees in philadelphia. Felt as holt as 108.
