Its moving at 20 miles an hour. Its moving to the northeast. Starting to make its way through as it tracks along to the northeast. These are not the only areas getting rain. You go a little farther to the north and see some of the deeper yellows. That means a little heavier rain. A steady rain in berks county. But no longer thunderstorm concerns. No severe thunderstorms on the right now. Only goes south, we see the pocket of rain just to the north extending into vineland. This may merge with some of the storms we were tracking over parts of Camden County. Very spotty in nature. Theres only one warning in lace. This is along northern new castle county. Because of earlier e today, dumped rain for e three hours in the area. This is in place for 5 45 for this zone. Flooding is still possible in those areas. The heavy rain is moving through. As a result of these storms moving through, temperatures are just plummeting. 71 in philadelphia. 70 in pottstown. These runumbers were around 90 just a few hours ago. In the days to come, more storms are possible. Well track the scattered thunderstorms. The owner of a daycare is under arrest charge d with sexually assaulted two children he was trusted to care for. The alleged abuse. Happened at the sprouts childrens center. Drew smith just spoke tos. The daycare remains open even though they have charged the oin owner. We saw parents coming to pick up their owner. They are saying they met the owner many times. Others told us an email had gone out from the daycare last week about the investigation. But they did not learn the full details of the accusations until today. Thats the most sickening thing i have ever heard. That a daycare worker that the task was the protection of kids was hurting them. As far as the owner, he se seemed like a good guy. Who knows. Reporter police told us the owner was here for ten years. Its unclear what its future will be. The Ridesharing Service lyft says it has no record of a driver involved in the robbery and abduction of a Delaware County woman. It happened early this morning. Lis say the driver took the 31yearold woman and her sister to a gas station in upper darby. The driver asked the younger sister to get him a bottle of water so he could take his medication. She gets out and goes and gets a bottle of water. Shes in the store a a few minutes. She comes back out and the vehicle is gone, the driver is gone and her sister is gone. The victim was later found at a 7eleven. Shes okay. She says the driver threw her out after robbing her. The sister had called lyft as they left the nightclub in philadelphia. Officers went to north Fourth Street for a fight and reports of gunshots that showed up. They didnt find anyone. He was rushed to the hospital. Police are trying to figure out exactly what happened here. A 7yearold girl nearly drown this morning in an outdoor pool at temples campus. Sky force 10 over the scene shortly after this. The girl was with a Group Swimming at the pool. She was rescued and flown to childrens. Hospital in tld. No word on her condition. Take a good look at this. The Camden County Prosecutors Office wants to put a a name to this face. Hes a suspect in several armed robberies. They happened in gas stations and delis in midjune. Police are hoping Surveillance Video will give them a lead in a shooting at a gas station in chester. He was filling up in edge month last night when someone opened fire on his car. He wasnt hit. He did get cut by broken glass. New at 5 00, several men arrested on drug charges in howell township. Police say Darnell Williams and joseph cohn trel were distributing heroin. They seized more than 800 worth of the drug. Two cases of alleged arson are under investigation tonight. Investigators Say Something was placed in the gas tank of a car as well as a a truck on 56th street. No one was hurt. Less than a mile away, a fire started after a suspicious device was thrown through the window of a home. The fire marshal responded. There are no reports of any injuries. But the worst off has been moving over parts of philadelphia and also into south jersey. The thing about this is each cell is taking its own path. And all the way to the tabernacle as well that youre seeing 2 to 3inch rainfall rates. And lightning over Camden County. As we track this out, this little cluster is moving to the northeast. So its spreading through trenton that we are looking at the timing moving through ben salem at 5 30, trenton by 6 00, this is going to continue mauve ing off to the northeast by around 6 30. But the good news is it is starting to weaken just a tad. Thats a good sign in that area. If i pull this out, this cluster moving to the northeast. These little clusters you see here mostly moving to the east and then this little south of vineland is moving to the north. These two combining may create a stronger cell in the next half hour. This is tracking more to the east. Same can be said for these cells in the deep reds and orange. They are mostly moving to the east northeast as well. This is turning into a south jersey event. At the jersey shore, margate is launching a new legal fight against a beach protection jogt project that many say is causing irreparable harm to the city at the height of the summer. We have been showing you scenes between beach entrances and newly constructed dunes. Ted greenberg is live in margate. A lot of that water now has been pumped toward the ocean. Reporter some of those areas look like sandy swamps. With the aim of stopping this project. Officials say dead in its tracks. Blocks away from the decimation of Margate Crown jewels, an overflow crowd applauded as margate commissioners voted to seek a court order to halt the half finished beach protection project that local leaders say is killing the resort at the height of the summer. Thats what needs to get done. The project needs to get stopped. Margate relaunching its legal fight against the state ordered project. Which the city unly tried to block arguing it would bring serious drainage problems. Those predictions realized when sandy stretches between ends and newly constructed dunes were turned into ponds of standing water. Filled with high levels of bacteria after 5 inches of rain fell over the weekend. They have to figure out what went wrong and what was wrong with the engineering. And move on. Many beaches closed as a result and the agency hopes to make changes includes adding stands to the basins where the water collected. Other shore towns have had projects finished without this kind of problem with the pooling water. What makes this margate case different . Reporter heres a big difference. Other shore communities have outfall pipes, which drain water from the streets, from the storm drains across the beach and take that water out to the ocean. Here in margate, they dont have pipes like that. The water comes from the street. The streets slope towards the beach. It used to be that the water would come on to the beach and cross the beach and crews would dig drench trenches to get water to the ocean but now because of this design of this project, the water is getting trapped in these basins between the street ends and those new dunes. Ted greenberg reporting for us live in margate, thank you. In delaware the governor signed a bill to modernize the coastal zone act. It calls for responsible redevelopment of 14 industrial sites along the coastline. Officials say the work will create jobs and facilitate clean up. Leaders will present their master plan for a a system of trails of walking and bike paths. The public is invited to the hearing. Officials are in the process of trying to connect the trails. Lets take a live look at the rainy streets this is eighth right here in market. You see the ponding there on the roadways. Rien continues to fall. Its moving towards south jersey. Krystal klei joining us with the latest on the track with these storms moving through the area. Heavy rain is is moving through. The lightning strikes have gone down over the last several hours. This is a live view over center city. The rain is still coming down. The view is a little more clearer than only 30 minutes ago. Thats a good sign that some of the heaviest rain is starting to move out and weaken a bit. Heres our radar view. Were looking at the oranges and reds. Notice they are mostly focused over south jersey. Still some steady rain falling in the suburbs as well. Another batch of rain is starting to creep into chester county. We still have a few hours before this thing is all moved through. Not good because this is an area that yesterday was washed out with heavy rain. Then some of the heavy rain does extend farther north. When we track this out here, around 5 30, trenton by 6 15. This heavy band is move ining through. Its weakened in the last half hour. I do think it leaves steady rain. This is one of the few cells thats moving to the northeast at this point. The rest of this line is mostly koind of moving to the east more so now. This is where most of the lightning and organization is. It makes it difficult to track storms when they are moving like we see currently with the picture. The focus really is in south jersey now. If we and right near hammington, as this continues to track to the east, were still locking at at least another hour or so before some of the heavy rain starts to move out. Hes an hour by hour model thats showing where the steadiest stuff is. Still gives us some pockets near will moimington and mercer. Moves most of it out. And go into your thursday. The morning commute might be okay. Clouds overhead. But as we go into the afternoon, yet again, well start to see thunderstorms firing off through 2 00 to 6 30. We think it will be more small scale than what we saw today. And lets talk about the highs for tomorrow. Hot again before the storms roll through. Right around 90 degrees. New at 5 00, a husband charged with murder weeks a after his wifes body was found badly beaten near their backyard pool. The body was discovered in late june at the couples home. According to Law Enforcement who now say michelle longs husband killed her. My mom was definitely the best mom you could ever ask tr. She did not deserve this at all. This is along the edge of Camden County. Then moving along through and into atlantic county. You can see most of the warning is in place through 6 00. This may be extended to the shore. But at this point, the warning is through atlantic county. Even clipping into parts of cumberland county. Light rain scattered over the viewing area. Most of this is moving into atlantic county. Toms river at 6 30. Ship bottom will be seeing most of that move out by then. The timing is off. I think by 6 15 it should be to ship bottom and starting to move offshore. So this is moving 20 to 25 Miles Per Hour as it continues to move along. Look at some of the rainfall rates. Around 2 inches per hour falling across the map here. 2. 5 near winslow. 3 inches falling just near upper deerfield. Plenty of lightning is moving to the east. So this is heavy rain, light and were looking at the strong wind gusts. Also focused of that Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Yesterday police found 24yearold Derek Rollins car on 51st and just a few doors down they raided this house. I know them but. I didnt know who was this there.
