Philadelphia schools have been borrowing millions of dollars to stay operating through december. Some nutrition programs say they are running out of food ahead of the holidays. And bucks county is considering not turning over some money collected for the state as long as the budget stalemate continues in harrisburg. Developing story we are following involving new jersey governor chris christie, a flight christie was on was delayed and searched a little while ago. The flight from headed from San Francisco to boston. We heard from San Francisco police. They are telling us a passenger was taking cell phone pictures of the crew. Another passenger told police he saw one of the pictures on the mans phone and said it was a photo of a cell phone with wires sticking out. The suspicious passenger was removed from the plane and detained but has no criminal history. Now we do have a new photo of christie taken at the airport in San Francisco, we also have a statement from the christie campaign. That Statement Reads in part a passenger was removed from the plane before takeoff at the request of united airlines. It goes on to read, at no point did governor christie interact with this passenger, nor did the passenger pose a verbal or physical threat to the governor. Any other inquiries should be directed to united airlines. And united tells nbc 10 the flight is now in the process of taking off. Right now at 5 00, video shows the terrifying moments inside a hotel under siege in the african country of mali. Hostages rushed to safety as gunmen threatened to kill more people. The siege has ended, but tonight there are conflicting reports about how many people died. French officials are now telling us 19 people were killed in todays siege. That number is lower than the initial report by the united nations. Security forces stormed the Radisson Blu Hotel this afternoon after islamic extremists armed with guns and grenades took some 170 people hostage inside seven hours earlier. A group of quickly organized, their words, civil Rights Groups leading a rally against islam phobia, basically saying the attacks in paris are not a reason to start going after muslims and people who happen to be of the islamic faith, trying to make a point theres not a need to be racist against all people and it was, in fact, just a small group of extremists that have caused the attacks in paris. Their words, racist warmongers in europe and the u. S. Are using the attacks in paris to bolster their violent campaigns against migrants and refugees. Thats their words from their release they sent us a little while ago. We understand they are about to start marching in some direction. On sunday, ben franklin parkway between 18th and 25th again and closed until about 4 00 p. M. On sunday. Additionally, we have ramp closures on the vine street expressway closed sunday after 4 00 a. M. From westbound to 22nd street, eastbound to 23rd street, may close if necessary, so just a heads up there. Parents and students react tonight after a Police Investigation focuses on allegations of sexting at a local high school. Officials say as many as two dozen students may be caught up in the case. Reporter police say they have pulled the drop box and now are working to identify the students and former students involved. Its astonishing. Its astonishing these pictures are out. Reporter Marie Williams has a daughter whos a sophomore, she says her daughter knows some of the kids involved in the sexting investigation and says shes all for the filing of criminal charges. I think they should be, lesson learned. Reporter police say it is too early to know what, if any charges could come of this. In a Statement Police say they are looking for more information on the case. Police were called wednesday after a parent made an anonymous call alerting them to images found an a students phone. Some graduates, some graduates that were a part of this dropbox file. And its our understanding that the pictures were taken approximately two years ago. Reporter the images included photos and videos of juveniles in bathing suits and underwear and even less. They are working to find how the files may have been circulating among the students in the school. Theres absolutely no indication any School District Technology Systems were involved in this. Reporter investigators say they are in the process of getting search warrants to continue the investigation here. And another sexting scandal led to criminal charges in chester county. This one involved middle school students, one as young as 11 years old. Police say nude photos of students were viewed by other students. Four students faced charges, including distribution of child pornography. Were learning more about racist texts shared by former Prison Guards at a Camden County jail. Officials released more than 5,000 Text Messages. Nine Corrections Officers sent the messages on phones they smuggled into the jail. The messages contain so many racist remarks that investigators listed the ten most commonly used slurs, then added et cetera. There were thousands of, quote, highly inappropriate, crude, and racist comments and jokes referencing africanamerican coworkers and the warden. Well, colder way to end out the weekend, thats going to lead us into a cold night tonight. Colder temperatures will settle in. Well see lows in the 30s in some areas north and west in the 20s, so it will be a cold weekend both saturday and sunday, so if youre going to the eagles game, if youre tailgating, youll want to bundle up. Chilly for sunday especially, but as we go into next week, we have a nice thanksgiving forecast. Ill show you that in just a second. Temperatures in the 40s north and west mostly, 45 pottstown, westchester, 46 in wilmington. Philadelphia in the low 50s right now. 48 degrees in millville, 47 in dover and atlantic city, but take a look at whats going to happen over the next several hours. 8 30 tonight, 9 00, temperatures in the low 40s, but it will be on the clear side. Then we go into tomorrow morning, and we have temperatures that will be bottoming out in the 30s for most of the area. Its going to be the same thing as we go into much of sunday morning and monday morning, so its going to be a cold start to your weekend. So that is one thing that well be watching in the forecast, how low the temperatures will be dropping. Right now were nice and dry, so thats one thing thats going to help us get colder. Heres a look at future weather, the colder air is going to set in through the overnight hours and by early tomorrow morning. Thats when we expect the temperatures in the 30s and 20s north and west. By saturday night, though, we start to see the clouds increasing across the area. Then we get that next rain chance. Now this i dont think will affect your weekend at all. This is 3 00 sunday morning, so this is another weather system moving through, could give us light showers across the area, but really does clear up in time for sunday morning, then we get windy and colder into sunday for the end of your weekend. If you were traveling this weekend for the holidays, we have one weather system were watching. Most of the country pretty quiet, but by tomorrow we could be seeing airport delays from chicago, over to parts of ohio, so basically the midwest. Six to ten inches of snow wanted, travel delays expected because of it, and down in florida the cloud cover is locked in with some showers here and there pretty much across the whole weekend so that weather system is going to stay to the south. The other one is going to head into new england but start to break apart quite a bit for your sunday, then well start to see that clearing out. Thats because its National Adoption day. Tonight were sharing the story of one family whose adoption journey was inspired by nbc 10. This is nbc 10 news. In honor of National Adoption day, dozens of foster children in our area became permanent family members today. One local family tells us they were inspired to adopt after watching nbc 10s wednesdays child series. You know, we just kind of looked at each other, lets just do it. Reporter after watching wednesdays child with vai sikahema on nbc 10, jen and dru decided to act, becoming foster parents to sophia, whos just six months old. Its been a great experience, i wouldnt change a thing. Today they officially adopted sophia, now 3 years old. Shes one of nearly 50 children who became part of her forever family in Camden County today. Finally. Finally im going to get the little girl that stole my heart. Working to make the process as smooth as possible. It might take a little time, but the reward youre getting at the end is so worth it. She is our miracle, definitely our miracle. In philadelphia, 2yearold peyton was one of 20 foster children adopted today. Her mother often calls her by her middle name, miracle. My family and friends are all going to help me with miracle, so i wont be alone. Believing its important for sophia to know her roots, they forged a relationship with sophias biological relatives, a gesture that means to the world to her grandfather. It means the people taking her have halos and wings, thats what it means, they are wonderful people and were close to them and see them all the time and get to see our granddaughter, as well. Its a very long struggle, but this is what i have at the end, so its worth it. Right . Yes right more than 4,500 children are waiting for adoption in pennsylvania, new jersey, and delaware. Sophia is precious. To this, though, have you heard about this . Doctors in kentucky have successfully separated conjoined twin girls. The surgery was performed on the sevenweekold girls on november 11th. The twins bodies were joined at the chest and abdominal cavity. Their livers were joined and they shared some of the same heart structures. The girls are both still on ventilators but the hospital says they are getting stronger and stronger every day. Breaking news right now, protesters are blocking traffic in center city. Tim furlong is up in sky force 10 tonight. Tim . Reporter thats right, jacqueline, we are over rittenhouse square. You can see they are putting one person from this protest into a police van. Just a couple minutes, but weve been following this for two hours, very peaceful, small group of protesters, you see one person being put into the van. That person appeared to get into a scuffle with a police officer. We dont know who started it, obviously, from up in the sky, tough to say how it started, but everything was moving along peacefully, blocking maybe a half block at a time of traffic, but everything was sort of herded in by the shepherded by the police officers, at one point they stopped in front of a septa bus and thats where a little bit of a fight broke out. You can see the protesters there protesting basically the American Government and western powers over the last few years since 9 11 going in and basically saying the paris attacks, horrendous example in their words as the bitter fruits of endless War Occupation, shocking all bombings and regime change. Its a small group of protesters, clearly very vocal and active. They cut back toward ritt rittenhouse. Police have been going along just fine, then a couple minutes ago from about 1,400 feet above we saw a scuffle that quickly escalated and deescalated
