And tonight shes talking only to nbc 10. Good evening, im jacquelyn london. The bullet that hit this 17yearold girl came from a shooter who is still on the loose tonight. Denise nakano shows us how the victim ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. I still cant believe it. Reporter struck by a stray bullet and sitting down only with nbc 10 to talk about it, the 17 year old from northeast philadelphia who does not want her face shown came within inches of losing her life. I was watching tv, and i was getting up to go to the bathroom when i heard gunshots, and they hit me. Reporter the bullet went in and out of center of her chest, just missing vital organs. She was released from the hospital to rest at home only hours after the shooting on b street. She was in her boyfriends house in her Old Neighborhood when the block came under fire. Her father says hes grateful he didnt lose his only daughter to a stray bullet last night, calling it a miracle. I think god protect her from the shot. Reporter police say a halfdozen rounds were fired on b street following an argument. One bullet hit the 17yearold. Another went flying into this womans home and flew over her 4yearold daughters head as she was sleeping. We looked for where the shot go and looked the window broke. The wall. Reporter still groggy and wearing her hospital band, the victim started to tear up, realizing how close she came to death. Its crazy. Reporter her family says they left the neighborhood to escape violence but somehow it still found their daughter by way of someone elses disregard for life. We need to stop people getting hurt. Reporter and the family is still in disblecht police are looking for at least two shooters as they review Surveillance Video taken from a corner store. Denise nakano, nbc 10 news. Also tonight, another one bites the dust. For the third time in ten days, a member of the white house senior staff is out of a job. The longer the shooters on the streets the more it puts homeowners on edge. In overbrook park, theres something catching the eye of homeowners. The flyer from police shows two important things. The man officers say killed john lee, and a 5,000 reward for his arrest. The this is the first time youve seen this flyer yes, it is. Reporter they say the man fired shots hours before lees murder. The gunshots were a few feet from Christine Jones house. People called me at work and told me, because they knew that i lived in the neighborhood, and they were calling to make sure i was okay. Reporter she wasnt home saturday. But Lester Outerbridge was. I was in my bedroom and heard gunshots. Reporter after the shooting, outerbridge called police. I did see a guy jump in a car, i didnt see his face, but i saw him jump in a car and take off. Reporter the shooter left before police arrived. Hours later, he shot john lee as he walked to a friends apartment. Minding his own business . I dont get it. You could walk out of your house and never come back home. The sheriffs say they tricked a new guard to open an exit door. The inmates used blankets to help scale a razor wire fence to freedom. The sheriff describes how it went down. They pointed and said open up, i need to get in. He thought he was opening up the cell door to go into this mans cell, but in fact he opened up the cell door.
