Family members stayed within range of the search that utilized heavy machinery in a back field. Investigators are looking for any sign that will bring them closer to finding 19yearold jimmy patrick, 18yearold dean, 22yearold mark sturgis and 21yearold tom mio. The investigation focused on a farm at 2022 new hope. Were getting strong indications this is where we need to focus the majority of our resources. Reporter its one of the properties searched the last few days, charge ding dinardo on unrelated gun charges. They searched the road on sunday where mark sturgis car was found in a home in bensalem earlier today where Cosmo Dinardo lives. One of the neighbors who asked not to be on camera said the dinardos are like family. Sdp its been very difficult. Ive been crying all day. Ds spot their missing friend and concerns about his safety. Hes always got a good spirit. We know our friend is not safe sorks thats all were worried about. Reporter i spoke with mark sturgis father tonight. He said the family is really struggling and this is the most traumatic thing hes ever been involved with in his life. Heres a look at how this mystery started to unfold more than five days ago. Jimmy patrick was first reported missing on wednesday. Just two days later, tom sturgis, meo and finocchiro were missing. They searched in the township and then it spread to bensalem. Well bring the latest to you as this mystery unfolds. Signs of alert breaks will be on the nbc app and anything that develops overnight. We have news out of mississippi tonight. 16 people are dead after this military plane crashed a few hours ago. Burning metal and a charred crateer crater is all thats left in the field. It is believed to have exploded after taking off from memphis. The weather team has issued a first alert. The radar shows a line of storms that could bring Severe Weather to our area over the next 18 hours. Tammy, what is the latest on the timing and impact of these storms . Lets get right to it. First alert has been issued for pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware. Originally we did not include the beaches, but at this point it actually looks like some of this might make it to the beaches late tomorrow afternoon and through the early evening. It is going to be between 2 00 and 9 00 tomorrow, so 2 00 in the afternoon and 9 00 tomorrow that we see the potential for these widely scattered storms to turn severe. Were going to have an atmosphere thats just prime for that. It will be localized wind damage, brief downpours. Those are the things were going to be looking for. Were also going to be dealing with a hot and humidc day, somewhere between 95 and 100 degrees. Right now were taking a look at the doppler radar. Were not seeing much of anything in the philadelphia area, a little ground clutter, a few sprinkles. What we have north and west of the metro area is this line of showers and storms starting to press into the area. Well, this is part of what was earlier a line of very severe storms. That has tamed down a bit, but the main body of the system is still to the west of us and its going to move into our area tomorrow in the afternoon. So ill break down the timing for all of this when i come back in just a little bit, and were also going to talk about how ir re hot its going to be. Guys . Was told by e mail that the lawyers information was part of a russian government effort to help his fathers candidacy. He told the paper he attended the meeting because he was interested in receiving damaging information about hillary clinton. A lawyer for donald trump jr. Says his client has done nothing wrong and pledged to work with investigators if asked. U. S. Army says one of its own soldiers is under arrest tonight for trying to help terrorists. Sergeant k. K. Khang was stationed in hawaii. The army claims he pledged allegiance to isis and tried to provide them with military documents. The fbi said khang was under arrest for more than a year. They believe he was acting alone. In south jersey, shattered glass and broken bricks flew through a waiting room in a Doctors Office after a car barrelled into the wall. It crashed through the wall at 5 00 this evening. The last thing people in the waiting room were expecting to see. I was sitting in a chair looking at a magazine and news and happened to look up, and i saw the car come right through the window. It was like, really . This is happening . Watch as this postal truck rams into that tree there in center city and then that tree falls just inches from that man on the sidewalk. Brandon is where this happened on locust street. The post office truck was on this side when it hit it going in reverse. All of this unfolded on a busy center city street with multiple milliondollar properties where people exercise, walk their dogs and park their cars. Talk about a close call. In this surveillance video, it looks like the u. S. Postal truck taps the branch of a tree, knocking it over and missing a man by inches. He quickly jumped out of the way and walks away no one cnchalant. He showed us where the tree was. Luckily there was no car here. Reporter thompson said the tree was knocked over saturday in 2100 block of locust street. The crew cleaned it up today. Thank god no one got hurt. Reporter thompson still cant believe it. His neighbors cant, either. This whole street has a lot of nice trees and were losing them. Reporter did you see anything like this before . A series of Text Messages reveals new details tonight about the death of a Fraternity Pledge at penn state. The Text Messages were shown in court today. The judge must decide if there is enough evidence against the 18 Fraternity Members facing charges. Prosecutors said those students waited 12 hours before getting he piazza. They claim he was the victim of a deadly hazing incident and used several make their case. One said, i dont want to go to jail. Hazing a is a huge thing. Another one said, be sure the pledges keep quiet about this tomorrow. Theyre fighting back about a pipeline they claim is ripping up peoples backyard. West goshen township has issued a petition against the pipeline. The township is trying to get sunoco to stop construction. Sunoco sent nbc 10 an email saying it is in compliance with the settlement agreement. Its de javu and the governor said he will not sign the budget. Lawmakers have been fighting how to make up the revenue. Gambling funds and tax increases are all on the table. Also tonight, show me the money. A local Veterans Charity said it was promised thousands of dollars. That was almost two years ago. Tonight the group is still waiting for that donation. Then the director of phillies advisory commission. It carried the names of philadelphia dignitaries. But as months passed, leaders tell us the Comfort House kept waiting as browns promises kept coming. Mr. Brown stood next to me with witnesses and promised me that we would still get that money. Reporter that it was still coming. Yes. Reporter board member Bernadette Heenan said the whole time leaders feared upsetting the powerful director while they still desperately kneelneeded h funding. We as a group felt held hostage. Reporter they said they never received even a penny of that promised donation. Around the same time this was coming to light, the city president suddenly eliminated browns job with the city. Just days later they said they were setting up a hot line and asked anyone who paid a fee or received any type of service from the philadelphia Veterans Advisory Commission to contact the office. Why specifically did you decide is you needed to make changes . We make staffing decisions every day. Reporter when we pressed for details, the Council President who oversees the veterans commission, insisted he couldnt speak about personnel matters. There were issues with respect to the operation. There were a couple stories about some things. He didnt explain what those stories and issues were. We got the same story when we contacted the office of jerry lindfest, councilman mark brady, councilman mark squila and all the other members we reached out to. Were watching that in burks county. Its actually moving more northeast right now, off in that direction, than it is toward philadelphia. But it will sag in our direction overnight, so you kind of get the general motion of where everything is going right now. Its staying out of the area but it will start to move in this direction because you can see its slowly moving eastward, but its also start to go faing to apart. This line of storms produced a lot of damage earlier today in parts of the ohio valley and the midwest. This was all associated with a big storm system that is still kicking off severe storms coming out of parts of the midwest and right through ohio where they had a number of tornado warnings earlier today. All of this activity is going to make its way in our direction. What its associated with is a frontal boundary and this is the first of several little disturbances that are going to move by. Watch what happens. As that frontal boundary sag nz our direction, we start to pick up some of these stronger storms and thats going to happen tomorrow in the afternoon. Lets time it out for you. Watch what happens, here it comes, its going to sag through. Once its gone, it looks like wednesday will be a decent day. Maybe just a few instability showers, but then we get a bit of a break before we hit thursday. Thursday will be another busy day. It will abe a hot day tomorrow, too. We get showers coming in tomorrow night, still well into the 70s after midnight, then tomorrow morning we wake up. Well be about 83 degrees by 10 00 in the morning. It will be a hot and humid day. Here in the afternoon, here comes a few showers and storms making their way through the area. We see that between about 2 00 and perhaps 8 00 or 9 00 tomorrow night. Any storm could turn severe, could have heavy rain, could have damaging winds associated with it. Now, on wednesday we have some isolated showers. We hit the low 90s, so it is going to be a hot day. Not quite as oppressive, though, as were going to see tomorrow and on thursday. Now, as far as the risk, this is sort of our death con of risk. This is where well be tomorrow, with a marginal risk. Isolated and severe storms are limited in duration, its limited in coverage, and it will be low damaging winds anywhere from 40 to 60 miles per hour. 89 was our high today. Highest wind gusts 29 miles an hour. We should be at 87 this time of year. We are a little bit above that and were going to feel a lot more above that. Today i put us to nice and comfortable. Tomorrow were at oppressive with our feelslike which is going to be between 95 and 100. Thursday well see a feelslike that will be way up there near the dangerous level above 106 could be the feelslike, the heat index. 94 tomorrow, 92 on wednesday. We could see strong storms tomorrow. A break on wednesday. More strong storms. 97 fire hior a high on thursday. We see that oppressive heat rolling in there. We get a break and a nice weekend to follow.
