Ten shots were fired. The young girl was sitting in her greatgrandmothers kitchen here on the 4400 block of north gratz street. A bullet went through the siding and the drywall and struck her in the right leg. Reporter police are trying to figure out why and who fired the semiautomatic weapon. Its not safe out here. Police were investigating whether these two shootings are related. Police responded to a medical welfare call this afternoon, and the decision to hospitalize west was for his own health and safety. In the past few days, kanye west made headlines for a verbal rant against jay z and beyonce at a concert and saying he would have voted for donald trump. A community is in mourning tonight after a School Bus Crash claimed the lives of six children in chattanooga, tennessee. Officials say 35 kindergarten through fifth graders were on board the bus when it rolled over and hit a tree. Nearly two dozen children were taken to the hospital. Chattanoogas police chief says investigators are looking at speed in his words very strongly as a factor. The bus driver is said to be cooperating with authorities. To bucks county now, where a Church Youth Group leader is charged with sex crimes against children. Investigators say the man assaulted two teenagers at the church where they worshipped. Police are concerned there may be more victims out there. Oxford Valley Chapel in levitytown is sending out blessings on its church billboard. Reporter Michael Walusimbi is charged with sexually assaulting a 13yearold girl and trying to sexually assault a 15yearold girl inside the church. Police say the 22yearold from bensalem even whispered to one victim in her ear during an alleged assault at the church that someday she would call him a pedophile before she was able to break free. We are truly very deeply saddened over these recent events. We are fully cooperating with the police and being an ongoing investigation, i cant really say anything more than that. Reporter prosecutors say walusimbi restrained the teens on two separate occasions and acknowledged the assaults to police. Church neighbors say the allegations in this tight knit community are alarming. Oh, its terrible. I hate to hear that. I hate to hear anyone taking advantage of a child. Reporter in middletown township, denise nakano, continuance 10 news. A tsunami warning has been lifted in japan in the wake of a massive 6. 9 earthquake earlier today. That quake hit off the northeastern coast of the island nation. Officials say a tsunami advisory for waves up to three feet remains in effect. The earthquake also shook buildings in tokyo some 150 miles southwest of the ep center. No initial reports of damage or injuries. The quakes epicenter is near the location of a powerful 2011 quake that left more than 15,000 people dead. That quake sparked a devastating tsunami and severely damaged the reactors of a Nuclear Power plant in fukushima. A murder suspect is in custody, charged with the ambush killing of a San Antonio Police officer. 31yearold otis mccain was taken into custody monday afternoon after an intense manhunt. Police say mccain walked up and shot and killed the officer while the officer was writing a traffic ticket in his patrol car. That ticket was for a driver who police say is not connected to the suspect. Detective Benjamin Marconi later died at the hospital. He was a 20year veteran on the force. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is under fire tonight. Wolf vetoed house bill 1538. If passed, it would have allowed Police Departments 30 days to conceal the identity of officers who shoot and kill civilians. The bill had been approved by both the state house and senate. Wolf released a statement that read, in part, while i am deeply concerned for the safety of the commonwealths police officers, Government Works best when trust and openness exist between citizens and their government. This all happened yesterday afternoon in the suburbs of pittsburgh. A bus hit the Police Cruiser, causing that cruiser to crash while narrowly missing the group of kids standing on the sidewalk. Amazingly, no one was seriously hurt. Two communities in new jersey are reeling tonight following fires that destroyed almost a dozen homes. Nbc10 was in wood bury and trenton as neighbors got a look at the aftermath today. In both cases, strong winds helped fuel the flames. In trenton, flames tore through a stretch of row homes around 3 00 this morning. More than two dozen people lost their homes. Three people were taken to the hospital, including a firefighter with an injured leg. Shaken residents described a frightening escape. I heard an explosion, and i looked through my window, and there was fire and smoke. Its something that you never see. Nothing youll never see in your life. Firefighters say winds were gusty, but falling power lines proved to be their biggest safety challenge. Utility crews had to shut off the power and gas before firefighters could work on the blaze. About 40 miles away in south jersey, a fire fueled by winds sent seven people to the hospital. It broke out overnight in wood bury. It leveled one home, destroyed a vacant home and two cars and left a third home boarded up. Wood burys fire chief tells nbc nbc10 firefighters had to play a waiting game for the gas and electricity to be turned off so their safety wouldnt be threatened by ul faing wires.
