Reporter reactions we got range from its not a big deal, to shock and confusion. The white radio producer pretended to be that black radio caller and carried on that act for two years. Reporter a regular caller to 97. 5 was over the top dwayne who created banter for the show. Reporter im probably waking up the neighborhood, probably waking up the borough, man. Reporter turns out the caller was fake, invention of a white show producer impersonating a black guy who went after white women. A sports blogger first revealed the fake caller on his blog. I think the actions of the young white kid doing sort of, like, stereotype of a black guy made it a lot worse and sort of just, like, piled on whatever that initial shock was. Reporter some are calling out the racial overtones of the caricature that played the stereotypes of africanamericans. It just seems that theres so much racial issues going on around the country, why we continue to promote the stereotypes. Reporter some fans say they found dwayne entertaining. Didnt take it as being extremely racial at all. I kind of saw it more as just kind of a crazy funny guy creating reason to talk. Reporter mike directly addressed the controversy on his show today. The only thing i can do is tell you i wasnt in on it, had no idea about it. If you dont want to believe that, thats your choice. I can tell you firsthand, had i known this was a fake, i would have shut it down immediately, and i would have been sensed to the racial undertones of it. Tonight there is concern after the presence of diseasecarrying mosquitos was found. Officials say an advisory was emailed to residents warning them of the potential of west nile in the area. A county spokesperson says spraying has been scheduled for thursday night to combat the issue. Residents we spoke to say they appreciate the Decisive Action being taken. Im glad they are taking care of it. It is scary. And eventually would have come here anyways, so im glad they are trying to nip it in the bud. So far there have been no reported cases of west nile in the abington area. And now to the other mosquito threat, there are now five new zika cases in florida, including one in tampa bay. Four of the cases are connected to mosquitos in miamis wynwood arts district. The fifth patient is more than 200 miles away in pinellas county. To date there are 42 home grown zika cases in florida. The office of School Facilities and finance handed down a ruling that Florence Evans Elementary School will close next july 1st. The district put a transition plan into place. Police say the trooper tried to pull over Daniel Harris for speeding. Authorities say instead of stopping, harris led troopers on a high speed chase back to his home. He was shot and killed steps away from his front door. Harris family is hoping to create an alert system to let police know they are pulling over a driver hearing impaired. We have new video we want to show you tonight of rescuers pulling three missing German Tourists out of a ravine in northern california. The three women were in a car crash and were missing for more than 15 hours. One was trapped inside the vehicle, the other two ejected. No word on their conditions at this hour. Here is a look, philadelphia compared to the jersey shore. If youre heading there this weekend, temperatures will be cooler wednesday and thursday near 80 degrees, philadelphia getting warmer, 94 on friday. If youre at the shore friday, well be around 90 degrees. That will be the hottest day into the weekend along the shore, temperatures back down around 80 degrees and sunny. If youre in the philadelphia area, we are going to stay around 90 degrees and dry through your weekend. Thats the good news. Now well talk about the tropics, two systems were watching here. The one that were most concerned about is over the Lesser Antilles on the way to puerto rico. It may be getting organized in the next few days. The name of the storm, its not named yet, would be hermine. We are watching for possible development. We do expect it. The Young Baltimore boy who became the worlds first bilateral hand transplant recipient is celebrating an important anniversary. Its been one year since he had his hands amputated due to an infection.
