Fill us in on what youre hearing. A robbery gone wrong, according to police. Investigators have been out here for the better part of three hours now. They are still out here. This entire block is cordoned off on clarissa street by juniata street. You can see the crime scene investigators and the detectives out here. There are a lot of evidence markers out there on the ground. There are so many shell casings out here please have not been able to give us an accurate count just yet. The scene has been out here since 2 00 this morning. I spoke with a Police Captain earlier. Heres what he tells me a man in a mask appears to have walked up to a group of people and attempted to rob them with a gun. Someone in that group that was being robbed also had a gun, an Assault Rifle mind you. He started shooting. The suspect was hit several times. He tried to run away but collapsed about a block from here. We asked police if this appears to be random or targeted at this point . Homicide will have to do their investigation with our crime scene unit as well. Thats basically what we have. It does appear to be a robbery that has gone bad. To recap for you, two men are dead including the robbery suspect. Two others are in the hospital this morning. A man and a woman with gunshot wounds, they are stable right now. One other thing you see, the cars over here on juniata street, several cars, hit by gunfire, one bullet even punctured a gas tank. The Fire Department had to be called out here. There was also a house with a window hit as well on this block. No one in that home was injured or bystanders around here. We have seen family members here at the scene over the past few hours. They are visibly drought. Some of them screaming, yelling, so you see right now, this investigation is still early on. Those evidence markers still on the ground. Theyre still count the shell catesings out here. They have two different caliber bullets. There was one with that Assault Rifle. Police plan to be out here for quite some time. Police say she was beaten and her throat slashed in an apparent robbery. Yesterday homicide detectives went to this row home in West Oak Lane with a search warn the. Sources tell nbc 10 they found crucial evidence including a laptop, possibly belonging to the elderly victim. Neighbors say a woman has lived there for years. Calm woman, you know. Be surprised then . If she was involved id definitely be surprised. Nbc 10 was learned that a woman is one of the three people being questioned by detectives. Police continue to collect evidence including the victims car which was discovered tuesday. It had been stolen the day she was killed. New this morning, pennsylvania casinos post their first slots gain in three years. The states 12 casinos earned more than 2. 3 billion from slots in the fiscal year that ended june 30th. Lady luck casino in southwestern pennsylvania reported the biggest gain of 25 . The state uses casino taxes to Fund Property tax cuts and to support local governments. As expected the pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf vetoed a republicanbacked bill that would have privatized liquor sales in the state. The bill would have to let those who already hold about 14,000 licenses to sell beer in the state to pay more for the right to also sell wine liquor or both. Eventually the 600 stateowned Liquor Stores would have closed once the private sector sales were up and running. Wolf says selling off the liquor system would not have been a Good Business decision. A Nonprofit Group released rankings of top beaches and all of the top five were from cape may county, including the beach that came out on top, ocean city. This is the First Time Since 2009 that its been named new jerseys best beach. Were just so happy. It just shows that ocean city is a location with loyal guests and visitors that really enjoy that tradition and they pass it from one generation to another. Sores tell us that fence will be eight feet tall and crews will begin putting it up sometime in early midseptember. We dont know which streets will be cordoned off by the way. Well today, much nicer thanc it was yesterday. Drier conditions across the area today. Yesterday morning we were dealing with the rain but the rain will come back tomorrow. Big question about tomorrows rain is will it clear up in time for fireworks . I think most of the area yes. Well show you in a sec. Heres a live look at cape may, pretty nice were seeing clear skies. Hazy off in the distance. Temperatures in the mid60s. It is calm as far as the winds are concerned. Nice warning along the shore with the temperatures across the fourth of july weekend. Tomorrow well be closer to 80 degrees with the clouds and showers around. Sunday were warming to near 87 with more sunshine. By monday well be closer to 90. If you have all four days off to celebrate, were looking at a nice warming trend. Locally we are dry across the area. Clouds are starting to move into parts of delaware. That ill with be the case today. Future weather, clouds move in more than this morning. We see a minimum of clouds and sun. By 2 00 in the afternoon, we have a chance of a stray shower. I do think well be mostly dry. Tomorrow, more clouds move in. Tomorrow morning, 8 00, thats when we have scattered showers moving into the area. Through the afternoon, we could have more rain moving in. Best chance for the heaviest rain, could be south of philadelphia new jersey and delaware. They say this was a robbery gone wrong. You can see the crime scene investigators have been out here since 2 00 this morning. Around that time a man in a mask walked up to a group of people and it appears ss attempted to rob them. He was hit in the exchang of gunfire. He tried to run away but collapsed about a block from here. One of the robbery victims had an Assault Rifle. He started shooting at this robbery suspect. Take another live look.
