Several families are out in the cold right now because of a sinkhole. Officials in the Lehigh Valley ordered those evacuations after the sinkhole formed because of fears of a possible gas leak. This all happened on hampton road in bethlehem. And thats where nbc 10 jesse gary joins us live from. Jesse, what is going on now . Chris, ugi crew workers are going house to house checking the individual gas connections. You see two men right there checking the individual gas connections to each home to make sure those connections are sound before they can turn on the gas. Now, this follows the sinkhole development. Now, let me update the story. There are actually two sinkholes. The first is closer to the house and off in the distance. That is what brought crews here initially due to a water main break. While they were here, parked on the street to repair that, a gas Company Truck came up on the scene and a second sinkhole, the larger one in the middle of the street dropped in. We have a picture of that hole, i believe, on the screen. We can get a better look at how big that hole is. Theyre checking to make sure the four inch natural gas line inside that hole has not been ruptured. If thats the case and all the connection to these homes are okay, they will turn the gas back on. Well update you in about 30 minutes. It is 4 33. Grief counselors will comfort grieving students today at two Burlington County schools after two children were found shot to death inside their home. A Family Member found the victims yesterday in tabernacle on holly park drive. Friends and neighbors came together for a tearful candlelight vigil last night to remember the victims. Two other Family Members survived the shooting and are in critical condition. Investigators recovered a weapon at the scene. They say there is no active manhunt for the shooter. Authorities are not saying whether this was an attempted murder suicide. Right now theyre treating it as a homicide, but they are not looking for a suspect. Happening today, a federal judge could decide if new jersey can have legalized Sports Betting. The judge heard arguments yesterday in trenton at a hearing. On one side governor Chris Christie and state lawmakers who want Sports Betting at casinos and horse racing tracks. It will help the economy. The four other sports leagues and the ncaa who say lifting that ban will harm their integrity. No matter what the judge decides, a quick appeal is expected. Schools in Chester County will take two administrators to court. At a special meeting last night they voted to File Lawsuits against former superintendent Richard Cuomo and james denato. The two men are accused of sending racist texts and stealing money from the district. They damaged the School Districts reputation. A honduranborn woman here in the middle of a deportation received a deportation order and she took refuge to avoid being forced out of the country. And she says she will stay in that church until her final deportation order is officially canceled. A police Union Official says the officer who shot and killed Michael Brown does not expect to face criminal charges. Ferguson officer Darren Wilson has stayed out of the public eye since the august shooting. Heres a live look from st. Louis where a grand jury is deciding whether wilson should be indicted. Brown attacked the officer and was trying to take his gun before the officer opened fire. Browns family said the 18yearold was surrendering.
