Republican incumbent governor tom corbett will Campaign Today in bucks county with new Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Yesterday, corbett and his wife made a number of stops, including a visit to gop headquarters in wilkesbury. There, corbett thanked the volunteers and urged them to get to the polls on thursday. Tom wolf will Campaign Today with president obama. Theyll appear together tonight at Temple University in north philadelphia. Yesterday, wolf greeted voters and posed for pictures at the mall. He urged his supporters not to become complacent and to cast their ballots on tuesday. New from overnight, Philadelphia Police are looking for the person who shot an 18yearold in the head and hand while he was sitting in a car at rising sun avenue. This happened around 2 30 this morning. Somehow, the car ended up here at temple hospital. Thats where the victim is in Critical Condition. Its unclear if he drove himself or if somebody else got him there. No word yet on a motive for this shooting. This weekend, parents in one Montgomery County community are being warned to check their kids halloween candy after one boy said that he found a razor blade inside the wrapper at a candy bar. The 13yearold made the discovery after trick or treating on friday night. He and his mother are speaking out about the incident. It just fell out of it. How did they take a sealed package . I didnt know if someone did it or if it was packaged like that or what. Fortunately, brandon was not hurt by the blade. Police are continuing to look into how it got inside the wrapper. Investigators tell nbc 10 that they are not releasing the brand of candy involved. Not yet, at least. Because they want parents to check every piece. Lets head now to atlantic county, where a Shopping Center in pleasantville had to be evacuated this weekend after a threatening note was found taped to the door of a tax preparation business. A briefcase was also spotted just inside the door. The bomb squad searched the office and determined that there was no danger. This morning, the red cross reports that some residents in West Philadelphia are now back in their apartment days after a fire ripped through their building. But some tell nbc 10 that they dont have electricity yet. They had been staying at a red cross shelter at sayer high school since thursday when the fire damaged a good portion of the building at 62nd and chestnut street. Also according to red cross, about 22 other families who live in the most heavily damaged area of the building will move to another property last night. A civil try is set to begin tomorrow against a former professor at the university of pennsylvania who beat his wife to death. Rafael robb bludgeoned his wife as she was wrapping christmas presents inside of their home in december of 2006. He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and is currently in prison. The family of his wife ellen robb is seeking to have her estate compensated and money provided to the couples daughter. The daughter, whos now in college, will testify during the civil trial. Jury selection and Opening Statements are scheduled for tomorrow. Today, the Philadelphia Police department will remember officer Chuck Cassidy who was killed in the line of duty seven years ago. Theyll hold a candle light vigil at 66th and broad streets in West Oak Lane at 7 00 tonight. Cassidy walked in on a robbery at a Dunkin Donuts there on halloween in 2007. He was shot in the head and died from his injuries the next day. John lewis was sentenced to death for the murder. He was scheduled to be put to death in june, but his execution is on hold while he pursues an appeal. Right now, you cant drive across the ben franklin bridge. Organizers tell me more than 3,500 runners are out here doing this 10k run. Another 500 people are walking. This run the bridge event has been going on since 2002. Supports a school in south jersey for children with special needs. Right now as you can tell, it is very cold, it is windy, and ive been talking with some of the runners about how they are staying warm on that bridge. Just run fast. Run as fast as i can and go back to warmth. Thats my goal. The temperature is fine. Im a little worried about the wind on the bridge. But otherwise the temperature is perfect for a run. Dozens of iraqi tribesmen are dead after isis militants lined them all up and then shot them. The terrorist group killed at least 50 men, women, and children, shooting them one by one in public. The militants also kidnap 17 others. This attack is part of an isis mass killing campaign over the last few days. In all about 150 tribesmen have been killed. Meanwhile, iraqi forces carried out air strikes against isis targets on friday in response to the tribal killings. This footage released by the Iraqi Defense ministry shows a number of vehicles belonging to isis being targeted. The militants have already captured large areas of syria and iraq. New from overnight, federal investigators believe that the Virgin Galactic spacecraft that killed one of the two test pilots broke up in flight. The ntsb started their investigation yesterday and says that the wreckage from spaceship 2 is spread out over a fivemile area of the mohave desert. Virgin galactic was performing test flights, it plans to fly tourist passengers more than 62 miles above earth. According to the ntsb, the flights were heavily documented. Thats actually a good thing that we have that much data, because its going to help us, again, do what were here to do, which is to find out what went wrong and figure out what to do, make recommendations to prevent it from happening again. The injured test pilot Peter Siebold is alert and talking with family and doctors. The pilot who was killed, michael alsbury, has 15 years of experience and had flown a spacecraft on multiple missions. The full investigation into exactly what happened to spaceship 2 could take up to a year. The ntsb is also continuing to investigate a Small Plane Crash in kansas that happened earlier this week, and were hearing from authorities today that the bodies of all four victims have now been removed from the building that was hit by the plane on thursday. According to a wichita newspaper, the body of the pilot was removed from the roof yesterday. The other victims bodies were taken out of the building at wichita midcontinental airport the day before. In california, police are still looking for two people in connection to the hitandrun crash that killed three teenage girls who were out trick or treating on halloween night. Yesterday, investigators tried to track down the owner of an suv that was abandoned near the scene. They went to the house where the vehicle was registered, but the owner had already moved. Police are also looking for another man whom witnesses saw running from the scene of the accident. Meanwhile, family and friends are mourning the victims who include twin 13yearold girls. Came into the world together and they left together again. Its hard. I knew them since i was 6. And now theyre gone. Police are checking for Surveillance Video from the time of the hitandrun, and theyre also analyzing evidence taken from the suv. That includes finger prinprints dna samples. In chicago, an entire building crumbled to the gruoun injuring four construction workers. Two of the victims are in Critical Condition right now and theres no word yet on what caused the building to fall down. This morning, were learning that that worker is getting treatment in highsecurity isolation at a hospital in paris. Meanwhile, the new york city doctor infected with ebola is doing better. Some good news here. Dr. Craig spencers condition was upgraded from serious but stable to stable. Officials at Bellevue Hospital say spencer is receiving therapies that have been effective in treating ebola patients at hospitals in atlanta and nebraska. Dr. Spencer developed symptoms of the virus last month after he returned from guinea where he was helping people with the deadly illness. Some more good news. Dallas nurse nina pham who was cured of ebola, she now is back with her dog. They were reunited yesterday. The animal had been in quarantine since pham got stick while treating thomas duncan. Hes the liberian man who died of ebola. Officials feared that the dog would also get sick, but he has tested negative for the virus. A Philadelphia Group with ties to one of the west african countries hit hardest by ebola is sending some muchneeded supplies overseas. The federation of liberian mandingos in the usa is shipping these boxes to liberia. Theyre filled with pretty much everything from medical and cleaning products to books and toys. Im a liberian, of course, residing in the u. S. And im very much happy to see people, you know, liberians especially lone liberians to help for the cause of the human being. Its going to take about three weeks for the packages to arrive in monrovia. Once they do arrive, the supplies will be distributed free of charge to any liberians in need. She and her father are due in court on 18th. Now to an update on an Apartment Building fire in West Philadelphia that displaced dozens of residents late thursday night. According to the red cross, some residents were able to return to their apartments last night, though several tell nbc 10 that they dont have any electricity yet. They had been staying at a red cross shelter at sayer high school. Since thursday, thats when the fire damaged part of the Apartment Building at 66nd and chestnut street. The red cross also tells us that about 22 other families who live in the most heavily damaged area of the building, they were able to move to another property last evening. Meanwhile, the red cross continues to work with those families. Youre doing case work with each and every family, looking to see what they need in terms of clothing. Its cold now, so we have to do seasonal clothing. The families who were moved to the other property are working with social services and the buildings management to find longerterm housing. The mother is speaking out about the capture of his alleged killer. Eric frein was taken into custody on thursday night at an abandoned airport hangar in monroe county. He had been on the run for 48 days after he allegedly shot and killed corporal brian dixon. Dixons mother says she never had a doubt that his sons fellow troopers would bring frein in. She admits the capture was an emotional moment for her. I cried. It was the end for me. They honored brian as their brother. And he would be very proud of them. Investigators are now looking into freins past for a motive. Police believe he did have a grudge against law enforcement, but Authorities Say they dont yet understand exactly why. Cleanup continues in california after this massive mudslide caused major damage in one neighborhood. Nearly two dozen people had to be evacuated friday night. Lets head now to hawaiis big island where lava from the kilauea volcano has stalled just 500 feet from the towns main road. Thats it. 500 feet.
