The president of the union says in her 38 year career never seen so many patients assigned to one nurse. In the maternity nurse, there has been an incident where theyve had nine patients and they are caring for an infant and the mother. So in the icu, youre supposed to be two to one. You can have three patients. In the recovery ec room, there e two nurses that recovered 11 patients the other day. Though her son is in the medical center, blackwell says she sides with the nurses but another parent with a son also hospitalized has mixed reaction to nurses walking off the job.
