But following the second shootout with wilsons partner, hipps was wound and both men were arrested. Police say they recovered two semiautomatic handguns at the scene, and letter searched the suspects home. We did find an ak47 inside of their house as well. Reporter now as we said i talked to the judge earlier today, just a few moments ago i should say. Theyre looking to do the arraignment any moment here. Here is what we can expect at the arraignment there will be no plea coming from williams according to the judge. This is nbc 10 news. He was taking rounds. He was actually being hit during exchange of gunfire. But he continued to fight, continued to shoot until the fatal wound was fired. And it brought him down. He died a hero. The Philadelphia Police department is in mourning at the murder of one of their own. Today two suspects are in custody in the killing of officer Robert Wilson. One is even this the hospital bed, wearing the handcuffs of the officer he is accused of murdering. Here is how it happened. At 4 45 yesterday afternoon, the officer was inside a gamestop in north philadelphia. Two men came in and announced that they were robbing the place. The officer drew his weapon, and a gun battle started. The officer was shot multiple times. As the suspects tried to leave, they were confronted by officer wilsons partner. Another exchange of gunfire happened. One suspect was wounded, the other tried to pretend he was a customer, but he too was arrested. At 6 25, officer wilson was pronounced dead. Today they filed murder charges against Ramone Williams and Carlton Hipps. The two brothers have prior arrests. Tim furlong is live in north philadelphia at the scene of the deadly shooting. Investigators spent hours out there looking for evidence. Reporter thats right, keith. The crime scene unit finally left here almost 24 hours exactly after officer wilson was shot. Since then a cleaning crew and a regional manager for gamestop have been in and out of the store. A van just pulled up to fix the shot out glass. There were a number of eyewitnesses. That helped the investigation. Yesterdays snow made it a lot tougher. I think its a shame. Reporter late today cleaning crews in and out of the gamestop, this just after a investigators cleared the scene they had been examining. Police actually melted the snow around the front of the store, trying to recover the 50plus shell casings that remained after the shootout. Today we also met dan, a guy who lives a few blocks from the plaza at 22nd and lehigh. He brought his niece and nephew out to the small memorial for officer wilson. Theyre out here ever day to protect us and make sure were safe in the neighborhood. Its such a tragedy. Reporter when employees heard the shots yesterday, they told me they ran to side. Some of the managers showed me their surveillance systems. They arent sure what they picked up yesterday. But theyed a their customers, they do believe wilson sacrificed his life to save others. Nobody there could speak with me about how much video from other stores helped police. I do speak on the phone with the girlfriend of the manager from the gamestop and spoke with a guy from gamestop and asked how are the employees doing, the manager doing . The girlfriend, the regional manager told me the same thing, that these guys and girls were very, very shaken up after what happened but very appreciative of officer wilsons heroic actions. Undercover officers arrested glen brennan wednesday at a business in bensalem. Investigator says brennan admitted to robbing a half dozen bensalem businesses and five more in philadelphia. He is in jail on a half million bail. Democrats investigating the deadly 2012 benghazi attacks want a republican now to withdraw subpoena for Hillary Clintons emails. In a letter they claim this has turned into a partisan controversy over clintons use of personal email while serving as secretary of state. This clinton email controversy will be a topic of discussion on this weeks meet the press. Moderator chuck todd joins us live in washington, d. C. Chuck, thank you very much for taking the time to join us here. Some are suggesting now that perhaps this could create some lasting issues for clinton. I think it does create a couple of lasting issues. Look, i dont think this is going to impact the voter right now and it certainly doesnt hurt her support among democrats. It definitely is a washington issue for now. Here is what it does. It empowers Congressional Republicans that have being going on the democrats have been trying to discredit. It gives them some credibility. We wouldnt have known about this email server without this investigation. So i think it empowers them to keep it going. And what does that mean . You will have an active congressional investigation with members of congress with subpoena power taking place in the middle of a president ial campaign. At any moment in time kit be a political ticking time bomb that impacts, maybe its a distraction for a day or two or maybe its something worse. If democrats want to call it a fishing expedition, you have to remember sometimes on fishing expeditions, you catch fish. The other thing it does i think there has always been an uneasy relationship between the clintons and the press. I think the way this has come about is only exasperating some of those disagreements. But as we go through tonight, were going to drop into the teens. So that will be a cold start to your weekend, a cold start to your saturday morning. However, we will be rebounding nicely. A big warmup after that. 10 degrees warmer even into sunday. Warmer than saturday i should say. And even into next week. We do have dry days ahead even until tuesday. Rain chance comes into the forecast. And then another dry stretch after that. Average temperature 49 degrees today. Weve been up to 26 so far. You see the 10degree jump saturday and then another 10degree jump as we go into sunday. We are going to watch a milder air mass move in and kind of hang around too. Should it be sticking around for quite a while here is look at Blue Mountain ski resort near the poconos. A lot of skiers and snowboarders taking advantage of some of the fresh snow. We saw yesterday. And as we go into tomorrow over the poconos, we could see some flurries. Ill show you the forecast if youre heading that way. Low 20s right now north and west through the Lehigh Valleys. 26 in philadelphia. Low 20s through much of south jersey and delaware. And as we go through tonight, these numbers will be dropping mostly into the teens. But we will stay dry. Radar is nice and dry. It will be like this as we go through your weekend too with the exception of some flurries farther up into the poconos. So your ski forecast for that tomorrow will be below freezing 29 degrees. Clouds around. It will be cold with again chance of flurries. Sunday 36 degrees. Not as cold. But we keep on warming, even as we go into next week. And for the rest of the area were talking about temperatures warming into the mid50s. For tonight, mostly clear and cold. 13 for the low in philadelphia. 8 degrees areas north and west. This will lead to a cold start tomorrow morning of course. And through the day tomorrow mostly sunny. It will still be cold but its all relative compared to today. Were going to be 10 degrees warmer tomorrow. Some of you may not think this is very cold. But at least the sunshine and everything will be helping to at least soften and break up some of that snow and ice that is around. Then we go into sunday. Milder. Temperatures in the mid40s. Dont forget to spring your clock forward one hour sunday morning. We do lose an hour of sleep but we do have the later sunset time because of the time change. Some more afternoon sunlight now. Temperatures stay int the upper 40s as we go into tuesday. Its going to be mild. But thats the next change for rain in the forecast. After that mid50s wednesday. And thursday in the 50s. Even friday. His highend seafood business is growing so much he needs more help. Like many of the restaurants he sells to. Job growth has been consistently high for the last i think 16 months in a row. Reporter and you say youre ready to hire . Im ready to hire too. I have a new employee coming on board in two weeks. Reporter 295,000 americans got jobs last month. Unemployment down to 5. 5 . President obama celebrated the record job growth. More than 200,000 jobs a month for the past year. And we have not seen a streak like that in 37 years. Reporter its an explosion ofan health care. Even in construction, proof the recovery is strong. Because last months weather was so bad in much of america. No one is spiking the football here there, but is an undeniable tailwind in this economy. Reporter the downside is wages. The average rose just 3 cents to 24. 78. And just 63 of americans have a job and are looking, a near record low. But those with jobs are buying so much more of the fish that jim chambers sells, he says he will hire a helper and boost the march jobs number. Now the challenge is boosting paycheck. This Philadelphia Police officer and father fought to the very end. It was absolutely incredible what this officer was able to do. Now two brothers are charged with murdering one of philadelphias best in blue. He is cuffed now with wilsons handcuffs. Tonight, nbc 10s team of reporters is Digging Deeper for details about the suspects, their criminal past, and the officer who died protecting the community. Tonight two brother, both with criminal records face murder charges in the death of officer Robert Wilson iii. Within the last hour Ramone Williams was arraigned. He and his brother Carlton Hipps also face attempted robbery and attempted murder charges. We sent a team of reporters into the Community Today to gather the latest information. We begin with nbc 10 investigator Harry Hairston who just left court. Harry, tell us about it. Reporter well, this was a video arraignment. Inside the judge looked at a tv and she formally charged the man police say killed a hero cop. When he stepped away from the counter. There were civilians there. I counted four behind the counter, a couple in line. He stepped away so that there was no the shots werent going directly at him. They were going toward him. Reporter investigators tell us officer Robert Wilson redefined what a rear hoe roe is as he fought to stop a robbery and protect shoppers. The officer was an out and out hero and a warrior. We fought to the very, very end, firing at both of them. Reporter Ramone Williams and his brother Carlton Hipps are suspected of gunning down officer wilson just before 5 00 last night at this gamestop store in north philadelphia. Police say the suspects saw the store as an easy target and went in to rob it. The officer was there to purchase a gift for his 8yearold son. Officer wilson drew his Service Weapon and became engaged in a fierce and violent gun battle. Both firing at him. He was taking rounds. He was actually being hit during the exchange of gunfire. But he continued to fight, continued to shoot until the fatal wound was fired. And it brought him down. Reporter wilsons partner who was outside responded and confronted the suspects as they try to leave the store. This time, wilsons partner wounded one of the suspect, and both men were
