The hotter its going to get. One of the volunteers for Chester Countys meals on Wheels Program and wants to make sure her elderly clients are okay. Wed like to make sure when we go in there the ventilation is proper. The airconditioning is on. If they do not, we like to have their windows open. This video in just a few hours ago is from the hard hit tourist town of wimberly. This death toll is rising from the historic floods here. New thunderstorms are are snarling traffic in houston today. After a foot of rain yesterday. Today the death toll climbed to 19 in texas and oklahoma. A dozen others missing in waverly. At least two people are missing in houston. Now, take a look. Theres video out of houston. A man found this on the side of the road. Its a casket and a body inside the casket. They believe the flood waters lifted the casket from the ground and swept it on the roadway. Its happening in our home state. And as Ted Greenberg shows us she isnt able to get back home to help out. You could see mud everywhere. From a computer more than 1,000 miles away from her hometown in texas, she feels heart broken and helpless. I cant be at ease. Im feeling so anxious that i cant be there. The historic flooding swamped her parents home in hardhit san marcus with a foot of water. Its just really sad. Along with hundreds of others. When they pulled up the carpeting they found that there were just holes everywhere. And the wood was already rotting and starting to seam. My dad was devastated. He worked so hard to have his home and now its just gone. Reporter the 27yearold is still in new jersey after earning a masters degree from Stockton University earlier this month. Rosemary connors live on the scene of this most recent attack in south philadelphia. Rosemary, this video comes out as neighbors who were nervous, by the way, hope police get their man quickly. Keith and renee, neighbors are especially alarmed because just this morning at the same house where the victim was attacked on monday, somebody allegedly came through this alley here and tried to break into the house through the back door. Very disturbing. For the second time this week week, crime scene investigators return to the 1800 block of rosewood street for a report of a possible breakin. Police are trying to determine if the wannabe burglar is the same man in this Surveillance Video. Hes suspected of stealing the car belonging to the 35yearold woman he allegedly sexually assaulted on rosewood early monday morning before taking off. According to police, he dumped the car a few blocks away. I was born on the next street over and came here when i got married. Joanna has lived on rosewood for about 50 years. She lives close to the victim who rents with another roommate. She has been alerting her neighbors as Police Believe the attacker here could be the same man seen in this sketch. Hes wanted for choking and trying to assault a 30yearold woman nearby on south chad wick street in march. In both cases, the predator was wearing red or orange gloves. This is a nice, calm terrific street. The whole neighborhood, you know, down here. We dont have this kind of problems. I spoke to another neighbor who tells me these incidents, especially the ones over the past two days on rosewood prompted him to call a surveillance Camera Company weather permitting. We can tell you that it was recorded at the panda chinese restaurant, which is located in king sessing and taken last thursday night. The man in the black hoodie is who police are looking for. He argues with the clerk, then as you can see, tosses that hot tea at her. She was burned on her face, burned on her chest, as well. And had to be hospitalized. Morgan sued walmart after one of the companys Truck Drivers crashed into his limousine last june on the new jersey turnpike. The accident killed one person and seriously injured morgan. Police are closely following this driver moving quite slowly there on the highway. You see Police Cruisers three of them there. This guys trying to escape. They dont know what he did. Well make sure you know about it when we get it back to you. This man accused of secretly recording women in a target dressing room waived his preliminary hearing today. Jugovics is charged with invasion of privacy as well as other crimes. Police say in march he used this pen with a hidden camera to record women as they tried on clothes at a target in abington township. Investigators arrested him after they say he came back to pull the same stunt a week later. Meanwhile, an elderly woman is dead after fire burned through her philadelphia home. Investigators say once again, its a case of no working smoke alarms. The fire started just before 7 00 this morning on the 2600 block of thompson street in brewery town. A neighbor was in his minivan across the street when he saw the smoke and rushed to help his 90yearold neighbor. I ran over and i banged on her door but i think it had all these dead bolt locks. And so then after i got no response, i went to the house next door and i just banged on that door and said, its a fire, its a fire. Neighbors found the woman dead by the front door. 70yearold landlord is accused of shooting one of his tenants. This happened last night in an apartment on church road in middle township. Authorities say william rice went to the apartment last night and then fired two shots. One of them hit and wounded a 62yearold woman. A man with her wasnt hurt. Well the two were staying in an apartment behind the home. Ted greenberg just got a recording of the call coming up new today on nbc 10 news at 5 00. A pair of Burlington County Police Officers were recovering after being assaulted over a fight over cab fair. Wade smith is accused of punching one of the officers and taking a swing at the other yesterday. Both officers suffered minor injuries. They were there because the cabby said smith refused to pay for a ride. Smith faces several charges, including assault on a Law Enforcement officer. In the Lehigh Valley now, jurors heard Opening Statements today in the trial of a Police Chiefs son. Hes accused of pointing a gun at county detectives. 23yearold Christopher Fitzgerald and Allentown Police chief Joel Fitzgerald inentered court together today. Pointed a gun at two undercover detectives following an alleged road rage incident. We have new information about the Corruption Case involving senator robert menendez. Federal prosecutors say theyre opposed to moving his trial from new jersey to washington. Attorneys for menendez and codefendants filed the request earlier this month. Menendez is charged with accepting about 1 million in gifts and donations from the florida doctor in exchange for political favors. Well were talking about washington former pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum is making another run at the white house. The spokesperson confirmed santorum will enter the republican race. Hell make an official announcement in about an hour. This is near his home in butler county. The 57yearold scored a second place finish in the race for the gop president ial nomination four years ago. Santorum is expected to make his announcement live at 5 00. Hillary clinton and bernie santd sanders are the only declared democrats. Now to a scandal that has rocked the world of soccer. Talking about some of the games top executives under arrest. American prosecutors call it a generations long scheme to corrupt the most popular sport in the world. During a raid in switzerland this morning, Police Arrested seven officials from the International Governing Body of soccer known as fifa. The seven are among 14 people indicted in the u. S. In an investigation into fifa. The investigation involves bribes totally more than 150 million over more than two decades. Federal agents also served a search warrant at the headquarters of a soccer soegs in miami. In the alleged scheme they took bribes in exchange for the right to sell tv and marketing contracts for soccer tournaments around the world. U. S. Attorney general Loretta Lynch calls the corruption rampant. They were expected to uphold the rules that keep soccer honest and protect the integrity of the game. Instead, they corrupted the business of worldwide soccer to serve their interests and enrich themselves. Four men have already pleaded guilty. 194 million in new tax revenue. Thats how much money the city controller says a proposed gallery renovation would generate. The plan would transform the gallery at market east into the fashion outlets. A public hearing of the renovation is scheduled for tomorrow. Heres how city controller says the city would benefit. According to his analysis, the plan would generate 96 million for city schools and create nearly 4,000 permanent jobs. All of the revenue would be generated over 20 years. He is a reggae legend. We have a first alert out for the possibility of severe storms in parts of the area. Reports of damaging winds are possible. Isolated, and heavy downpours. There is a lot of moisture in these storms as youll see in a little bit. Theres also a tremendous temperature contrast here. Were near 90 degrees in northeast philly, down through trenton, wilmington, 70 degrees in redding after getting that rain. And at the shore, it is cool. 67 in avalon 68 in beach haven. Thats why i dont think any severe storms will quite make it to the coast. The atmosphere is too stable when its that cold. The severe thunderstorm watch affects the entire area until 7 00 for the possibility that some of these storms would be severe. And you can see, most of the action is right in this one line that is coming through the poconos, approaching allentown and now just about entering Chester County. It is past redding, thats why the temperature dropped. And these storms are fairly strong. Weve got others that have popped up west and south of philadelphia. Now, the northern portion of this about to hit allentown at 4 30 bethlehem, 4 37 easton, around 4 52. And some of this rain has been on the heavy side over 3 inches per hour. Rainfall rate in some of the heaviest storms. If they would happen to stay over one spot, that could cause flood threat as well. So we have one shower developing drexel hill, other ones near the pennsylvania turnpike near norristown right now. Continuing to move to the northeast. Heres the forecast hour by hour as we go toward the dinner hour. Heres that line of storms according to the computer model. And just kind of slowly creeping eastward. Generally, weakening a little bit. But theres still a lot of heavy rain in this as it goes into new jersey. And, of course the slower it moves, the more rain accumulates, and the greater the threat of some of that localized flooding. See, we eventually dry out here as we head toward midnight. Now, whats going to happen tomorrow, we start off very warm. Its going to be a warm humid start to the day. Were going to get up near 90 degrees. Nothing like today with the widespread storms few showers and thunderstorms forming. This model has it near the coastline tomorrow while we get up near 90 degrees and just a few showers around. Compared to today. But, again, we need the rain. Showers and thunderstorms early tonight, very humid evening. 70 for the low, philadelphia 66 north and west. During the day tomorrow partly sunny, its going to be hot up near 90 degrees and just scattered afternoon thunderstorms. Not as widespread and less likely to be severe. Less humid on friday but still a chance of a shower or storm. Generally dry, but warm on saturday, and then the rain starts. Sunday looks cooler with at least some showers, then much cooler with an east wind and some rain that might really help this drought coming in monday and tuesday. All right, thank you glenn. Well no good news here. Americans are fatter than ever. A new gallup poll finds obesity rates on the rise. Delaware and pennsylvania fall in the middle of the pack ranking 31st and 33rd respectively. New jersey is closer to the top of the list and not in a good way. The garden state is the 16th fattest state. The National Obesity rate rose to 27. 7 last year. Thats up from 27. 1 2013. The survey finds higher rates are linked to lower well being among americans. We know that we can decide to create environments that create healthier people people of low rates of obesity, and therefore statistically speaking people with higher levels of well being. As for the best and the worst worst mississippi has the highest obesity rates while hawaii has the lowest. Well heres new information about how this cow ended up on 295 near trenton last week. Animal control officers ticketed the slaughter house where it came from. The cow escaped from the Packing Company last friday. Yeah they are renegade showers that are over our area now. But allentown is just about to get hit. Pretty hard with a thunderstorm. Weve got a first alert weather day out for the showers and storms. Some of them could be severe. And especially with some very heavy downpours. Some localized damaging winds are possible, as well. And the threat tracker shows the higher threats of the heavy rain and lightning and some gusty winds, much lower threats of hail and, of course, extremely low for tornado. We have a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for the entire area until 7 00. Most of the threat is associated with this line of storms is right near allentown right now as you can see. Moving to the east, hit beth let beth let him, and other storms coming into Chester County, as well. More on the timing and how this will evolve with the 7day in a few minutes. All right. Very annoying and Officials Say it could take until next week to get the parts to fix this problem. Right now, that storm moving in its starting to rain. Thats going to cause it to cool down for a little bit. But in the meantime, inside city hall temperatures reached up to 86 degrees in some rooms. Anybody hoping to conduct business at city hall was greeted today by a small sign. City hall shut down after the buildings central airconditioning suddenly failed. We need to try to do something. Lopez was hoping to apply for a city permit but learned the temperatures inside hovered above 80 degrees. Oh, my god. And some people in there, 80 degrees . No, everybody left. Most staffers cleared out of the building but the Police Department was also affected by the outage. Detectives stuck it out sweating through their shirts. And across the street the courthouse had ac issues amid a hot week with temperatures hitting close to 90. It gets hot fast. And it does cost a lot more money after the fact to fix it. Hvac repair techs say large buildings and Office Complexes need routine maintenance every summer. Theres cleaning, theres changing filters making sure theres no leaks in the systems. Four bullets flew into a first floor West Oak Lane home with a mom and two children asleep upstairs. Now, they werent hurt at least 12 shots wither fired around 11 30 last night on 66th avenue. Three men outside were shot one right now in critical condition. So far, Philadelphia Police there are surveillance cameras in that neighborhood. Speed is blamed for a deadly car crash in vineland this morning. Police say the driver hit several pylons and a tree before flipping the roof of the car on to its roof i should say. The crash happened along elm road and the car ended up in a wooded area. The driver brian hardy jr. Died. The turnpike reopened after an accident shut down one lane all morning long. A diesel tanker overturned in a construction zone. The tanker damaged the guardrail on the westbound lanes and it took several hours to get that truck upright and then the guardrail fixed. Charges arent expected to be filed in the case of a woman who fell from a moving car. Sky force 10 flew over the accident yesterday just after it happened. Police believe colleen carr jumped on her own during an argument during the driver. The red truck struck car after she jumped on to the fire lane of route 70. She suffered serious head injuries and is in critical condition. Paying for plastic. Governor wolfs budget proposes spending 225 million on Renewable Energy and efficiency programs. The solar power advocates in town today also released a new report. Now, that report ranks philadelphia 26th nationally when it comes to solar installations. Wilmington ranks in the top ten. Were not talking about credit cards, though were talking plastic bags. Members of a state Advisory Panel are considering legislation that would impose a fee on grocery bags across the state. Delaware already encourages the recycling of Plastic Grocery bags by requiring stories to provide bins where customers can return the bags. Damaging winds in some spots and heavy downpours in a lot of other spots. Wait until you see some of those reports. The temperature contrast is helping to fuel this. Temperatures ranging from 90 down into the low 70s across the front that is moving through the area. Severe thunderstorm watch for the entire area until 7 00 tonight and now a Severe Thunderstorm Warning just as a few minutes ago. For much of Chester County. Coatesville, west chester, and, like i said, most of the county. Its all related to this main line of storms moving through the area. Overall, there are some places where its stronger than others. With strong coming through allentown and now the other strong spot is down in Chester County. Theres the cell in allentown moving to the east. Its why downtown allentown, the visibility was Getting Better the storm headed into bethlehem and easton. This storm south of coatesville, this one is really strong. And this one will be moving into at 5 54 west goshen around 5 00. And this one has heavy rain with it. And the rainfall rate approaching 3 1 2 inches per hour. That means if it stayed on the same spot for an hour you get 3 1 2 inches of rain. Thats a lot of rain. Now, towards philadelphia these are smaller cells, but kind of intense here. The area in red, north of shelton sheltonham, abington moving toward the northeast. The future hour by hour, out of the computer showing that line coming through. Right around 6 00 to 7 00 tonight. And then some areas of heavier rain move along it. So we have some muchneeded rain along with some not so much needed wind that is going to come with some of these. We saw a little bit of wind damage in parts of burkes county a little bit earlier this afternoon. Now, tomorrow we may see some thunderstorms farther to the south. The first alert is for the possibility of some severe storms. Again, one of them in Chester County right now that could produce some damaging wind.
