The next high tide is scheduled for around 10 00 tonight up and down our coastline. That will be critical as we wait to see what kind of flooding we can expect. And within the past hour, we got a new updated storm track which were watching carefully. We have Team Coverage with reporters stretched up and down the shoreline. Were at the delaware beaches, the jersey shore and in center city, philadelphia, to show you the conditions in your neighborhood. But we start with first alert chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz with the newest information about the track of hermine. Glenn . Yeah, denise, it is centered offshore. Its very close to hurricane strength but its not really tropical system. The center of it as you can see offshore, moved off the North Carolina coast earlier. Now starting to move more to the northeast. And the rain area is close to the jersey shore but it has not reached it. Its 45 miles offshore. And if anything, the rain is moving away. For now. Thats a temporary thing as youll see. 70mileanhour maximum winds moving eastnortheast at 12 miles an hour. Continuing to move in that direction overnight tonight and into tomorrow. But the key is when and if it makes that left turn. It is expected. The question also is, how far west does it go once it does turn. We very often see storms intensify once they do make these kind of turns. It is expected to go up toward hurricane force, and this is a slow movement. Sunday, monday, tuesday. Its still there right off the new jersey coast. So the general trend is still going to be happening. The on shore wind continues to pile up the water. And were going to continue to see this flood threat, coastal flood threat for the most part. Mild coastal flooding for tonights high tide.  tomorrow nights high tide at least moderate coastal flooding in parts of the south jersey shore and the delaware beaches as the wind increases to 30 to 40 and the rain moves in later tomorrow, tomorrow night. The rain lingers on monday as the winds pick up even more as that left turn brings hermine closer and closer to the coast. A very critical tricky forecast. Well see what effect its going to have on different parts of the area in just a few minutes. And skyforce10 flying live over rough surf over avalon. North to sea isles, you can see the waves beginning to kick up. As glenn mentioned, the shoreline is at the greatest risk. You can see a number of people right down here, this guy behind me, a number of people down here on the boardwalk, a lot of businesses are open right now. A spokesman everyone Sussex County said their biggest concern so far is beach erosion and coastal flooding. Theyre going to keep an eye on that for the next 24 to 48 hours. Again, you see beach patrol driving behind us just to make sure people are at a safe distance from the water. They also Emergency Operation centers. Cape may traffic up and around beach avenue. First when everybody started coming home, there was a lot of different areas with parts of volume and hours and hours of delays going onto the Atlantic City expressway. Parts of the garden state parkway, parts of 55 and 42 heading back into new jersey and the surrounding areas. What it looked like there. Lets look at what the parkway looks like now. Pretty much empty. We saw most of the rush that was going to occur already happen this morning. The parkway looks like this now. Same goes for 42, parts of the Atlantic City expressway. Just a couple of cars. The biggest thing we have to worry about is that played in america concert. And now police are asking that everyone out there take a close look at Surveillance Video of two groups of men they say it will lead them to who pulled the trigger and why. As many as 14 evidence markers pinpoint where shell casings landed on arkansas avenue knew besides the szczurs parking garage when two atlantic at the Police Officers responding to a group of men involved in criminal activity got out of their car, one of the officers was shot. Reporter the other officer fired back striking one of the gunmen as the group took off running. That suspect was found about a black and a half away on missouri and pacific avenues. The biggest threat sunday from possible showers and increasing wind. Tomorrow its supposed to rain, but hopefully it will still be fun. Reporter you can party either way . Of course, of course. Rain doesnt stop me. Reporter and if those rain bands done affect philadelphia tomorrow, it could impact the coldplay concert sunday night. If the winds pick up, there is the threat of debris blowing around with thousands of people on the parkway. Randy gyllenhaal, nbc10 news. Back to the track of hermine and its impact on our area. Heres skyforce10 with a live look over a man in the waters in strath mere. He appears to be kite surfing at this hour taking advantage of the waves which i dont know fun its advisable. Thats what hes doing. High surf right now is a concern as we track the path and glenn hurricane schwartz is here with the latest on the track of the storm. Glenn . The more hours we have of this on shore wind, the more the water builds up and creates greater flooding down the road. The center of the storm is about 250 miles southeast of cape may right now. Its continuing to move away from land at the moment. You can see the center of it right around there. And the edge of the precipitation is about 45, 50 miles away from Atlantic City. And as you can see, its not really getting any closer as we go through the afternoon. So were okay tonight. Weve sent storm ranger to louis, delaware, one of the places likely to be hardest hit. The leading edge of the rain at ocean city now. So as the rain gets closer during the day tomorrow, tomorrow night, storm ranger will be there be to check that out and measure just where that leading edge of the rain is. Right now, weve got a 70mileanhour storm moving eastnortheast at 12. And continuing to move to the northeast, overnight tonight. But its going to make a left turn. According to most of the computer models. Left turns can be trouble. It can lead to intensification and once it makes that left turn, its hard to tell when that is going to stop and start going back. So the closer it gets to the coast, the worse the weather conditions are going to get. The farther inland the rain will get, its obviously not going to move much this wednesday. Wednesday, its still not that far away. So its going to be in the picture. And picking up it the winds and the waves. Philadelphias flooding expected to be minor. Atlantic city moderate to major. This would be sunday night and monday morning high tides which will be the worst. Cape may moderate to major and major flooding, lewes beach and Rehoboth Beach a chance some of that would be record levels. Heres some of the high tides. Atlantic city it, 10 00 p. M. And then 10 45 a. M. Monday. Those are the big ones. And Rehoboth Beach 10 30 tomorrow tonight, 11 00 a. M. On monday. And its going to get higher each time. We continue to monitor the buoys out offshore at 17 foot waves and 56mileanhour wind gusts. We have seen 70 plusmileanhour wind gusts with this storm already. You can see the computer models pretty much all confirming that movement. And we see wind gusts about 30 miles an hour right now. And well continue to see them increase as the storm gets closer. 76 degrees on sunday. But just a 30 chance of rain. Monday, 40 chance of rain and tuesday is dry. P. A. Suburbs, no rain. Lehigh valley no rain. Thats why we have neighborhood forecasts. New jersey, yeah, some rain sunday afternoon and night. The jersey shore heavy rain. Moving in sunday afternoon, into monday, even tuesday. And delaware starting to get some rain, too. Especially toward the beaches. Northern part of delaware, the wilmington area is going to be in a lot better shape than Rehoboth Beach. This is a beach thing and water is very dangerous and at high tide, theres going to be flooding near the ocean. Flooding at the back bay. And you dont want to drive through flooded streets. And the storm when it goes out to sea, the biggest concern is when it whips back around. Yeah, if it would continue moving in its current direction, wed be fine. And most storms do. At this time of the year in that area. But not this one. All right. Some people might be considering at this point to leave the shore areas if thats going to happen. Jessica has a look at traffic and its light right now. Thats exactly right. Most of that rush of traffic home happened a little bit earlier this morning and into the afternoon. Right now, good to go. If you want to head out the door and get back home and away from the jersey shore area, now would be a good time to go. The 42 freeway around the Atlantic City expressway. This is headed northbound towards philadelphia. Southbound still fine. It looks like a little bit of sunshine out there. But the biggest parts were dealing with that made america concert with all the closures around the fairmount area. Were also watching ramp closures over the wine street and 22nd street and the ben franklin parkway causing traffic and parts of the schuylkil in the area, as well. In myrtle beach, people stood along the shore taking pictures on the choppy sea. The winds kicked up the waves and rolled the tide high along the sand.
