In chester county, an attack on a Police Officer is caught on dashcam video. You can see a man to the right of the screen who appears to wait for the Police Officer who driveby on ease lincoln highway. He then launched a rock into the officers windshield shattering it. Hes right there on him. Did pick the rock back up. Initially hit the police car with. An officer who responded as backup, broke his sternum. Hes charged with aggravated assault on a Police Officer and resisting arrest. In Delaware County, strong storms brought down trees and damaged homes leaving several people without power even into this morning. Havertown was one of the hardest hit areas. Swiss farms on eagle road, it was a team effort to clean up after a silo collapse. The 40yearold landmark fell in about 20 seconds. We had another big lightning bolt and the wind was picking up. An interesting view of roof repairs from inside the house being fixed. Strong winds blew away piece was that roof at a home in white hall township, lehigh county. Philadelphia names the first Nine Community schools, they are dobbins high, edmonds elementary, gideon elementary, Kensington Health sciences academy, logan elementary, south mark philadelphia, south philadelphia, till den middle and the mayor made the announcement yesterday. Each will have a fulltime coordinator who will work with parents, students, teachers and the neighborhood to identify certain needs. Those needs could include things like job training, language classes and medical and police services. Its a place where kids go and they leave. Now it can be so much more. We can have evening programs where parents can do resume writing, family dinners, things like that. Over the next five years, the city will invest nearly 40 million to transform 25 Public Schools into community schools. Its 4 17 now.
