Light snow falling in smyrna and rain is falling in dover. Temperatures are still on the warm side. This is really going to limit the snow totals in our area during the day. Not expecting a lot. Temperatures, heres the cold. Pottstown, down to 29 degrees. 29 in trenton. This is where youll find icing this morning, allentown and reading. Right at the freezing mark, it has been damp in wilmington and philadelphia, dover is at 35 degrees. Well go through the forecast neighborhood by neighborhood when im back in ten minutes. Jessica boyington is watching your first alert traffic. We have two straight reports of minor flooding in new jersey. Brook lawn, one over here, route 130 around 551. All lanes closed because of that and one out in Logan Township around route 30 and 322 with possibly one lane closed there. Vine street expressway is open through center city. No problems around 24th street. As you can see, lanes looking dry here, westbound to the schuylkill expressway, no problems and no problems if youre headed eastbound to 95 right now. The rest of our drive times are doing okay. No problems, delays on the schuylkill, 95 to center city and the blue route headed southbound is only a 15minute trip. Nbc 10s matt delucia is live in newark, New Castle County. What are the conditions like there, matt . Tracy, a little snow fell in newark overnight. You can see that by the parking meters, a light coating on there right now, the trash cans as well. If you look at the roads, east main street and you dont see snow, that has accumulated out here on the surfaces. It is a little wet out here because of the precipitation that fell overnight. That of course can be an issue with the temperatures dipping below the freezing mark. We did see slick spots out there, especially bridges and overpasses. But as far as deldot is concerned, they say theyve been working overnight to make sure the roads and highways are indeed safe. The crews put down the brine solution yesterday. D. A. R. T. Is operating on a normal schedule. Expect minor delays when that snow returns. Coming up at 4 30, well tell you county by county what is going on when that snow returns. In pennsylvania, hundreds of trucks and plows are ready to go as the snow comes down across our region. Pen dot tells us its ready for salt. Last months brittney dug into a third of the normal amount used. Penndot says theyre taking nothing for granted with this storm. We could be dealing with storm well into wednesday, slow down, leave plenty of space between the vehicle in front of you. Give our plow trucks ample room to operate. Each plow truck takes upc t three hours to complete its cycle. So if you dont see a truck immediately, chances are its on its way. If you live in philadelphia, you have to hold on to your trash because of the storm. There will be no trash or recyclables today. Pickup will resume next tuesday. We are hearing that north and west of the city, those icy conditions could exist throughout the morning and for the morning rush. Thats why were traveling north on 611 through horsham. Well head up to doylestown and head north and west of that. Just to show you the icy conditions. On the main roads right now, 611, its wet. There are no icy patches that weve encountered. We have seen salt on the roads, especially on those exit highway exit ramps and on ramps, just because we know those surfaces tend to freeze faster than the pavement. I can tell you the schuylkill expressway, that seemed pretty good. Northeast 476, rather, the blue route seemed good as well and we were on the pennsylvania turnpike for a bit. The cruise ship started saturday in bayonne, Hudson County and was headed for the bahamas. Over the weekend, the ship encountered 30foot seas with winds matching a category 2 hurricane. My dad says this ship could crack in half. Reporter no injuries are reported and damage is said to be minor. The ship is scheduled to return to cape liberty in bayonne tomorrow. Royal caribbean is promising full refunds to passengers. Its 4 16. Today a school board in Montgomery County will meet for the First Time Since a series of fights involving students. Today pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf will present his budget plan for next year even though the state has gone seven months without a budget for this year. His spokesperson says the democratic governor will talk about two paths the state can take, one where Education Funding is a priority or another where money for education and services is cut. At the shore, more rain moving into cape may and were watching today for another round of coastal cflooding. That is likely to occur later this morning as the wind is still blowing onshore, winds at 8 miles an hour in atlantic city, 9 miles an hour in wildwood. High tide just after 8 00 this morning for rehoboth, cape may, 8 15ish. For atlantic city, 7 42. Between 8 00 and 9 00 this morning, we saw flooding yesterday and the tides will be running high again today. More moderate flooding is a possibility today. Satellite shows the clouds overhead behind these clouds is a mix of rain and snow. It lines up to the south. Its going to be moving into our area this morning. The steadiest snow and rain will be to the south for most of the important. This is 6 00 this morning. Some light snow and rain in delaware and south jersey. And then by noontime, it kind of falls apart in south jersey and in dover, the warming continues. See light snowfall into extreme southeastern pennsylvania. As we go into the afternoon and evening hours, thats our best chance of seeing some snow showers in the area. Periods of snow but temperatures will be above freezing for much of the day today. Slippery spots, the temperatures have dropped below freezing for many western suburbs andc coasl flooding is an issue again this morning and possibly later today. Radar shows just a little bit of snow. Its really falling apart in northern kent county and into New Castle County. Warm air arriving with rain to the south. Its going to be pretty quiet to start with this afternoon, thats when its going to start accelerating. 32 degrees in philadelphia. 38 for cape may with rain just moving into the area. But heres where you could run into icy spots, just a little bit of precipitation overnight, just enough to wet things up. If it hasnt been treated you could run into the ice this morning. Clouds are over the city. The wind has died down a little bit. Occasional showers, light showers possible this morning. Especially to the south. 35 degrees at 9 00, even if we do get scattered snow showers, the temperatures will be climbing to near 40 this afternoon.
