Roxborough and northeast philadelphia starting off in the upper 30s. We will see the temperatures come down a little bit more by 6 00, out in philadelphia 38. 41, a little warmup by 9 00. Youll feel that bright sunshine and the warming effect by noon time today. 47 degrees this afternoon. This will likely be the chilliest day of the week. We are going to go through the forecast neighborhood by neighborhood when im back. Right now Jessica Boyington has your traffic. Were on the vine street expressway. Construction there, right around 24th street, no traffic moving by in our cameras here. Westbound or eastbound. Thats because its closed between broad street and the schuylkill expressway until 5 00 this morning. Also construction but now closure on the 42 freeway. Northbound between 295 and the schuylkill expressway or 76 as it is in jersey, closing detour until about 5 00. Another hour of that. You can see drive times okay for the general stretch but we have the closure northbound. A few lanes missing southbound, still open to traffic right now. So to 55 were still at five minutes. Mass transit looking great. When i come back well have more drive times. Thanks, jessica. Police are investigating a deadly shooting that started with a man forcing his way into someones home. Nbc 10s katy zachry is live at the scene in long crest to explain. Reporter rosemary, were on the 6100 block of reed street. Its pretty residential. Theres a lot more to this. The man who died was trying to rob this home behind me and that when he walked through the front door, he actually announced there was a robbery in progress. Now, police say the intruder had a gun as he walked through the front door, but so did the homeowner and several other people in the home at the time. The intruder is a 35yearold man, he was shot in the neck and the chest. And he died on the living room floor. Police say they believe the motive was robbery or is robbery, rather, and they are questioning the people who live at this home and who were present at the time of the shooting. There is a twist to this. Coming up in the next half hour ill explain why the deadly shooting that happened here has exposed a whole other host of problems for the homeowner. Katy zachry, nbc 10 news. Police call it the ultimate betrayal. A man and his girlfriend are charged this morning with killing a neighborhood block captain they had worked with and befriended. Police say 50yearold james cheever, beat kathy wilson to death in her home on friday. Cheevers 47yearold girlfriend mastermind behind the crime. According to investigators robbery was the motive and the couple split the cash taken from the victims home. They got in under the premise of cleaning. Once inside they demanded her money. She had it hidden. Police recovered the stolen money. They discovered the victims body yesterday morning when they say johnson alerted police that her friend might be dead. Both suspects are charged with robbery and murder. Crews will be out later to fix a broken water main that flooded a philadelphia street. Sky force 10 brought you these images last night at 11 00. Nbc 10 also brought you video of the gusher at ground level. The 12inch main ruptured in the middle of the street. Crews had to pry open Manhole Covers to get to the valve and cut off the water. It wasnt until residents tried to wash dishes or shower that they realized the water was turned off. Very inconvenient. My grand children live with me so we have seven in my house, so its inconvenient. The water interruption impacted more than a dozen homes. It will stay closed until the crews fix that broken main. The fbi is investigating. Today a congressman from delaware will question Beer Industry officials about the potential anheuserbuschmiller merger that he believes could harm craft brewers.
