They are just moving into southern delaware. Just a few spotty showers right now. More impressive is what is on the way during the morning hours. Well see snow in southern and central delaware and into southern jersey. 21 in philadelphia. Teens for pottstown. Trenton is 16 degrees. Wildwood is cold enough for snow at 28 degrees. Sunshine we had yesterday takes a break today. A cold one with snow to the south and east this morning. At 9 00 28 degrees by noontime. Lets go to jillian mele standing by with a look at the morning commute. Good morning, jillian. Good morning. Its pretty quiet on the majors near 76 and Spring Garden street. No accidents or delays. This is what a lot of the majors around philadelphia look like. Well look at the cameras in up new jersey and have them for you throughout the morning. The area bridges, nothing to report. All of them are clear, the walt the ben, the burlington and the palmyra. We are on the scene now of a house fire that has left at least one person dead. This is happening in Delaware County. Jesse gary is there for us live on the scene on west providence road near lands down avenue. What is the situation there now . Reporter firefighters are hosing down the hot spots on the exterior and interior of the porch area. The chief says this is where the victim was found. They are not sure how the fire started at this point, but the medical examiner and police crime units are coming here to the scene to investigate. They do not call this fire suspicious at this time as one elderly woman was found in the porch of the home dead and they dont know how she died or why. They also say there were no signs of smoke detectors. We are cutting video for you and comments from the deputy chief to bring to you in the next 30 minutesle. Live in Delaware County jesse gary nbc 10 news. And police have a man in custody and they are looking for another after a chase and crash in bensalem. This happened at 2 00 this morning. Officers saw a bigscreen tv sticking out of the trunk of the car. Thats why they tried to pull it over. The driver took off, though. Police chased the car and it crashed into a ditch. It looks like its sticking out of the rear passenger side of the car, doesnt it . Two men ran and Police Caught up with one of them. A Chester County teacher is out of jail on bond charged with having an affair with one of her students. The relationship between 35yearold sarah u o neill and her student began a relationship last january on campus. A janitor said she walked in on the pair in a locked classroom three different times. In may a staff member found a love note from the teacher to the student left on a printer. Nbc 10 talked to one of oneills neighbors. Its a lapse in judgment it seem, and seems to be more frequent as time goes on. We are hearing more and more about these sorts of ordeals. Oneill resigned from the school and continued to see the teen driving him to the hotel on four other occasions. Friends are depending a guidance counselor after she was fired last night for making an online threat. Marykate blankenburg posted last month she would shoot protesters if they prevented her child from seeing an eagles game. Thats when police were outside demonstrating on the Police Shootings in new york. We got reaction from one of her friends. Its a sad day that she has been advised to keep quiet, dont comment. Shes taking the high road. Blankenburgs friend said shes remorseful and apologetic. Authorities say they wont file criminal charges. Police are trying to track down the man who opened fire at a philadelphia barbershop that happened around 8 00 last night at the International Barber foundation in germantown. One person was shot in the leg and is in stable condition. Murdered at her bus stop. Philadelphia police are trying to figure out why a Child Advocacy worker was targeted. Someone shot kim jones in the back of the head waiting on the bus yesterday afternoon. Sky force 10 was over the murder scene at 12th and jefferson in north philadelphia yesterday. Investigators dont believe motive was robbery. Joan jones wallet was not taken. A Burlington County man is now charged with his wifes murder though detectives still have not found her body. Police arrested 28yearold kyle crosby monday night in brooklaurean and charged him with the murder of erica crosby who vanished new years eve. Crosby left the area for five days after police questioned him. His wifes family says crosby is a drug addict and went on a binge with another woman after his wife went missing. Did not find her body. Im just hoping kyle softens his heart to tell us where she is. Like this is a sad, sick situation. Detectives say crosby was driving his wifes car when they arrested him. They say they found enough evidence in the trunk of the car to charge him with murder. 4 06 now. We have new information on the ncaas effort to keep the 60 million in fines paid by penn state after the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Yesterday the judge declined to throw out the state law requiring the money to be spent on child abuse awareness in pennsylvania. The ncaa says its part of the agreement with penn state following the sex abuse scandal. Two state officials filed a lawsuit challenging the agreement in state court. That trial was set to begin next month. Happening today, a philadelphia lawyer accused of paying for underaged sex will face charges in court. Authorities say he paid two clients to have a 14yearold girl brought to his law office in center city for sex nearly two dozen times. Police arrested the clients in november who live at this home in germantown. Authorities say the man and woman ran a sex trafficking ring involving at least five teenager girls. His lawyer says his client is innocent. And another former judge will learn his sentence today in the philadelphia ticket scandal. A federal jury convicted Michael Lowry of lying about the ticket fixing scheme. Lowry heckled lawyers at the end of his trial last summer after the jury found him and six others not guilty of conspiracy and fraud. He could be convicted for lying to the fbi. There are new threats against a french newspaper as it releases its first issue since the deadly attack last week. Charlie hibdo had a picture of mohommad on the front cover. But several Muslim Leaders demand it will not be printed and several websites are now calling for more attacks against the paper. One week ago two brothers gunned down 12 people at the newspaper offices in paris. This is video showing the two suspects in the street next to the getaway car after the attack. The brothers are heard to say, we have to avenge the prophet mohommad before driving off. Happening today, philadelphia will celebrate a new highrise. Officials will hold a toppingoff ceremony this afternoon. The 110 Million Building features an apartment tower and an office complex. The new highrise caters to graduate students and professionals. Tracking some snow this morning that is not going to be affecting everyone. Its to the south and east parts of delaware and south jersey will see some light snowfall this morning tapering off this afternoon. Very cold air is in place at the shore, inland with temperatures 10 to 20 degrees colder than yesterday. It will stay cold throughout the day today. A cold night tonight. But were still on track for a weekend warming with temperatures significantly warmer for the weekend. Right now, 8 degrees in mount pocano. Clouds over trenton, 16 degrees. Dover is waiting for some light snow this morning, its 25 degrees. Certainly cold enough for snow. And even cape may will likely see some snow. Temperatures have dropped into the 20s at the shore. Satellite shows the clouds quickly moving in. Delaware south jersey completely covered. In fact, they extend to areas north and west of philadelphia. But as far as the winds, that has settled down some. A little bit of a breeze blowing is not as strong as yesterday. No big gusts. Its not a big strong storm that is coming through the area. It will come through and keep on going. The wet weather just really spotty so far moving through Sussex County into delaware bay and moving towards cape may. The first snowflakes we see so often during the wintertime will evaporate before hitting the ground. But the steadier precipitation is to the south that is accumulating lightly in southern delaware and south jersey this morning. The hourbyhour future weather showing at 7 00 this morning, the snow is just barely making it to dover. Louis, 33 degrees. Cape may will see temperatures coming up a bit at 36 degrees. Snow possible at 9 00. But look how it stays at the shore and in central delaware. Youll see a few scattered snow showers while just cloudy skies for philadelphia. Still a spotty shower is possible during the late morning to early afternoon hours, but most of it is going to be coming through this morning. What precipitation does move into this area i can guarantee you it will be somewhat slick driving conditions for people later this morning because it will freeze if it is not snow. If its rain coming down the surfaces here are frozen. So that rain will freeze when it sticks to the surface. Well be monitoring the conditions headed south as soon as i leave you. A contractor agreed to pay the childrens 5 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit. That contractor was dating the girls mother. Authorities say he did not install smoke detectors in the home he was renovating and left ashes in the fireplace that started the fire. And domestic charge against hope solo the goalkeeper for the u. Much of the rest of the area is getting ready for snow. That is locations to the south and east are certainly cold enough for it this morning. The temperatures have dropped into the teens and 20s. Right now 16 degrees in pottstown, coatsville look at the teens for doylestown. The trend in northeast philadelphia and at the shore where we are getting ready to see the snow its cold there, too. 20s for cape may. 27 degrees in north wildwood. Sea isle city 27. Along with ocean city. And in Atlantic County temperatures are in the 20s for most locations. The marina is hucking the coastline right by the warmer ocean at 35 degrees. But, snow is on the way with the temperatures that will be climbing into the 30s during the day. Cold enough this morning to support some light snow. Just a few snowflakes scattered across delaware bay right now. The heavier, steadier snow is to the south. And its going to be taking some time to move in. But the future snow shows that there will be some accumulation by 9 00. Could see a third of an inch on the ground in the dover area and closing in on an inch in cape may and a spotty snow shower is possible this afternoon. Notice no snow for philadelphia. So keep an eye out for light snow developing this morning and then disappearing this afternoon in delaware and south jersey. At 4 21 time to get another check of traffic. Pretty dry out there, so were not dealing with issues so far in delaware. Our issue as chris mentioned is one accident in the somerton section of philadelphia. Bustleton pike between philmont avenue and street road. Take philmont avenue to avoid this accident. And today the Transit Agency will hold a pair of Public Meetings in center city this afternoon. Septa wants your input on a number of projects including bridge replacements and new vehicles. The agency will hold hearings on the budget and its programs in april after a proposal is drafted. Also today, Montgomery County officials are holding a controlled hunt for antlerless deer at the park. The oneday hunt runs from 7 00 a. M. To 3 00 p. M. This afternoon. Hunters must be registered and follow strict wildlife rules. This Management Program began in 2005. Pay it forward. Thats what a philadelphia pizza shop is doing when it comes to helping the homeless. The ellen show yesterday featured rosa fresh pizza in center city. And its pizza for 1 a slice. The opener jason wartman holds the concept so that the homeless dont go hungry. You pay a dollar and the homeless can redeem the slice by asking for a note on rosas wall. If someone comes in and says they dont have a dollar and they are hungry we give them a slice of pizza. You may not see the individuals face but it gives you a sense of humanity that people care. Wortman says is his believes his humanitarian belief can spread across philadelphia and the country. Its the modern version of the face on a milk carton. How facebook is helping to find missing children. And a woman falls between two buildings. Well show you the rescue that followed. Look at this. A rescue in the tightest of quarters. A new york city firefighter helps this woman stuck between two buildings. So how did she get here in the first place . The womans roommate went to the roof to smoke and fell off the building. They did get her out but shes hospitalized with several broken bones. Several local hospitals are seeing an increase in the highly contagious respiratory disease highly dangerous for children and infants. It is called rsv. We are hearing there are tons of sick kids with rsv. Federal officials report a spike in cases in this area from last week. And adult and older kids can catch rsv but they have mild coldlike symptoms. Facebook is going to start pushing amber alerts on your news feed when children go missing in your area. Each alert has the childs picture and other details as well as updates when new information comes in. Facebook says police will set the targeted area where the amber alert appears and they hope users will share those with their friends. Clouds moving into the city.
