The fog right now starting to get thicker. Areas north and west and allentown 2 1 2 mile visibility down to two miles in reading. Just light fog for hazeltown but dense fog in mt. Pocono and northeast philadelphia has just seen it improve to threemile visibility. Some areas of fog from the city north and west and temperatures that are in the 60s today. Much warmer this morning. Look at millville at 67 degrees right now. Were getting a warm, cloudy and somewhat foggy start this morning. The fog wont last, the clouds will break. Well see 71 degrees at 9 00 and then upper 70s by lunchtime with sunshine and the temperatures will still by climbing and go through it hour by hour and katy zachary has traffic. Good morning, katy. And new from overnight, a man in north philadelphia died after being shot 30 times. 30 times. The victim was sitting with a woman when two men approached and opened fire. The woman was also hit in the ankle, but shell be okay. Police dont know why the man was targeted, theyre still looking for the twot shooers. Police in ocean county are looking for had hit and run driver who was hit crossing a busy street. Witnesses tell police a darkcolored sedan drove away after hitting that person. The victim is in the hospital this morning. No word on his or her condition and police have not released the victims name. Police in northeast philadelphia are trying to figure out why the owner of a barbershop was gunned down last night inside his business. The victim was found around 9 00 p. M. He was shot four times and is in critical condition. The shooting happened after the shop was closed. No one has been arrested yet. Now, the latest on the Ebola Outbreak. Today, Delaware County leaders are holding the first meeting of that countys ebola and Infectious Disease task force. Their goal is to provide First Responders and the public with information about safeguards and protocols. County leaders and members of that task force will release new information for a press conference set for 4 00 today. And meantime the pennsylvania nurses union is concerned that not every hospital is ready to handle patients who may have ebola. Union leaders tell nbc 10 thorough preparations have not been consistent across the board and that could put people at risk. I think we really need to be sure that if these patients present to all of our hospitals, you know, across the state, that all of us are able to take care of them without injury or harm to anybody. To other patients, to other visitors and to ourselves for those of us who take care of patients. The nurses union is demanding basic preparedness at all hospitals in pennsylvania and also calling for a single region. A similar message for hospitals nationwide, it says they need to think ebola as they get ready to treat potential patients. This all comes after that nurse in texas was infected with the virus while treating an ebola patient there. Nina pham is her name. Currently in stable condition and last night she received a blood transfusion from the american doctor who survived ebola after being treated with that experimental vaccine. For many years people complained that crime was out of control prompting the need for more officers. The Police Department heard those complaints and took action. Jesse gary first reported on this strategy when this change happened back in april. Jesse joins us now live in mayfair to tell us what has changed and if residents are seeing the benefits. They are seeing the benefits. This district has seen the infusion of 30 new beat cops. That number of officers has never been assigned to just one district before. City Officials Say the 15th is the largest in philadelphia, stretching from Huntington Park avenue and from the Delaware River to roosevelt boulevard. Data shows much of the crime takes place on the southern end, but more than two dozen officers, many of them recently graduated from the cadet class now call the 15 home and it is making a difference. The bodies of rufous and gladys perry were found inside their home in strawberry mansion. Police say the victims had hired the suspect to clean up their property. The couple had known ballard since he was a child. A court date today for a volunteer firefighter who is charged with setting fires in Delaware County. John corcoran has a pretrial conference and investigators say he set several fires in darby borough and township. Corcoran arrived on a fire truck to help put out the fires. This morning, Delaware County detectives are trying to determine if a fire that destroyed one home and damaged two more in Clifton Heights is the work of an arsonist. Three people were hurt in that fire yesterday, including a firefighter. Now, witnesses youll see here captured the flames and smoke from the home on the 200 block of South Springfield road. The homeowner just stepped out to run an errand and returned to find his house in flames. I would have been dead. The whole upstairs fell down. He was obviously upset. The homeowner said he believes that fire was set on purpose. The red cross is helping three people displaced by the fire. A fire at a dance studio was intentionally set. We first reported this fire as breaking news yesterday after it started at 4 30 a. M. In ben salem. Also an apartment inside this building. No one was inside at the time, but a firefighter did suffer a minor injury at the scene. Investigators are still trying to figure out who set the fire. If hi. In mercer county, a Rider University student was driving under the influence when she slammed into the fine arts building. The driver and her passenger were treated for minor injuries.
