cloudy skies will give us peeks of sunshine. breezy today but dry and sunshine tomorrow, saturday, and sunday and a milder weekend as we head into the 50s. now with a look at what is happening on the roads here is candace dold with the traffic edge. candace. >> reporter: thank you, steve. as we head out and hit the roadways we need to talk about baltimore this morning. there's fire activity, a very serious fire in fact, it's near mondawmin mall and it completely shuts down liberty heights avenue and liberty heights is blocked in the area as well. you will want to use dwin park falluse gin falllanes. for the 95 approaching the notefort mchenry tunnel, is running normal is so is 895. looking at a 9-minute drive, and nice and calm 54 miles per hour. and speaking of the beltway, the outer loop lanes from 95 up toward 83, nothing to get in your way, 11 minutes nice and calm, 54 miles per hour. that's a look at the morning travels, patrice, back over to you. city firefighters are on the scene of a deadly blaze in west baltimore. so far officials say two people are confirmed dead. megan gilliland joins us live from the scene with more, good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning, patrice. a very intense feeling right now of anticipation. right now investigators are inside of the home behind me. again, two people were found dead inside but there is one person still unacte unaccountedt this hour. the fire broke out after 230 enclose this morning. when that happened there were reportedly 5 people inside. we are told that two people made it out. unfortunately two people died inside of that home. the main concern is trying to figure out if there's another person inside of this home still this morning. by the scene of some of this video earlier this morning, you can see how intense it was for firefighters searching through this building flames pouring out of roofment w roof. we talked with fire chief kevin cartright and he said they're dealing with intense heat and debris. >> at the height of the fire when the firefighters were operating some members entered the structure at the second floor level, they reported that there was a lot of debris piled up as high as the window ledge as they were going inside. that certainly poses a great hazard to our firefighters because it little rally fuels the fire -- literally the fire and it makes it that much more intense and difficult for us to extinguish. >> reporter: 35 fire companies responded and you can see the neighbors around drawing attention. a lot of them holding hands, crying and hoping that firefighters will come out of this bringing good news when they return. we will bring you a news update as this story continues to devil. megan gilliland fox 45 morning news. over in baltimore county one person was hurt in wood lawn. the flames broke out in the 3300 block of carey road. investigators believe the it started in the basement, 1 person was flown to hopkins bay view with serious burns. the bod hey o body of a mano death was found at high school. a man's body was discovered on the school's basketball court. police say that he was shot in the chest. a gun and a ski mask was found at the scene. the man's identity is not being released. a violent inmate serving a life sentence bypasses several levels of security and wawxz out owalks outof a prison. inmates won't be released without having a finger print scan to verify who they are. raymond taylor walked out of the prison downtown last tuesday after swapping id cards with his cell inmate. he was later picked up at we wet virginia. >> i was amazed at how quick it is and accurate it is and it's going to enhance our ability to do releases. >> the new finger print scanners cost $1,500 a piece. stay tuned for fox 45 morning news, for continuing coverage of this story. we will talk with former police commissioner ed norris to make sure this doesn't happen again. more than a dozen schools of the archdiocese will close for today. principals found out during a closed door meeting that 13 schools in baltimore will close at end of the academic year. that will leave 2100 students and 325 teachers, staff and administrators displaced. rising costs and declining enrollment are to blame, but many didn't think they would see this day especially at cardinal gibbins. >> i never thought they would close this historic landmark like this. if you speak to any one of them, they're shocked and heart a broken. >> mayor rawlings-blake released a statement saying that cardinal gibbins leaves a proud legacy of ak deem hacademic and academic e and will be sorely missed. a university professor fired for former adjunct professor was teaching an art class more than a week ago when he referred to himself as an inward on a corporate plantation. when a parent of one of the students in class got wind of it, they complained to the university and the professor was fired. >> i was more than willing to apologize. it becomes a question, of is it worth destroying somebody's career? >> the university said in a statement it strongly supports academic he freedom. however, such patently offensive language on the part of the university employees will not be tolerated. he taught at towson for 12 years. the maryland terp pins played one of their biggest games in years last night and they came out on top in spectacular fashion. 4th ranked duke was in town and maryland was looking for a piece of the acc regular crown. greivis vasquez, puts a shot and gets it to go. vasquez led the way with 20 points and maryland upset 4th ranked duke, 79-72. it is the terps 6th straight win and it stack snaps their 6th losing streak to duke. with this win they could clinch a share of the regular acc season title. it started with jubilation after the huge win at college park. tended with police in riot gear making arrests and shooting bean bags into a rowdy group of students. joel d smith is live in college park thrown into groups, and some folks say they were shot with bean bags. >> yes, yes. i had to close the outside window to my bar because it was overtaken by chemicals. >> reporter: compare this to when you have been around for other riots. >> i was here in 1999, so i was here for the first one. if you put it on a sale of 1 to 10, this was a 2 or a 3. >> reporter: is it because police were prepared for this one? >> they were over prepared i would say. they were here early and often. they had the horses and everything. >> reporter: let's hear what the students were saying after this happened. >> they were approaching and trying to get us to move back. i was standing there and they pointed their guns at someone. they fired a bullet near the crowd and got me. this is absolutely -- this wouldn't be happening if the police weren't here. the only reason we're doing this is because the police are here. >> reporter: you hear what some the students are saying about all of this one more time here with jay. did the police, you know, were successful though? there doesn't seem to be a lot of damage here. >> absolutely successful. they did their job well. >> reporter: that is coming from someone and seasonable and sunny but for a look at the full forecast today, let's head to steve in the sky watch center. he looks so happy, cureiouss -- curious goerge, he must have heard the forecast for the weekend. we might see sunshine today, but mostly cloudy skies for the majority of it, but some periods of time when we should see some sun, too as low pressure starts to move out of area. take a look at things in motion as we move toward the northeast. that's is where we see more activity with regard to snow moving out of connecticut and massachusetts but not for us. we are going to get the winds picking up around 20 miles per hour around the low as high pressure builds from the south and west. breezy conditions for now will subside as we get through the weekend some. that will bring us a really nice change which will show you in a moment. meanwhile, breezy day today. here comes high pressure building in, though. that will bring warmer temperatures as we get toward the weekend. the next low pressure center moves out of the north out of way, but this one could be bringing us rain but not until the middle of next week. until then stay dry, and the jet stream shows that we have mild air on the weekend as we climb into the 50s. this morning, we begin at -- and with the winds at 10-15 miles per hour it's going to feel like the temperatures are in the 20s. it will be a chilly day starting out. even later on in the day it will be chillier than average day. normal high for it time of year, 49. today, the eastern shore with a 10-20-mile-an-hour wind, it will feel like in the 30s. the 10-20-mile-an-hour winds will feel chillier. a chilly wind, and back to the west feeling more so, getting to and tonight 28 degrees, and getting to a 10-20-mile-an-hour wind. 41 by noon and 39 at 6:00 p.m. and remaining breezy throughout. 49 tomorrow, nice weekend into the 50s, 50 for saturday, 54 sunday, and 53 for monday with a mix of sun and clouds, and the next chance of rain on wednesday with a high of 49 degrees. now looking at what is happening on the roadways with candace dold with the traffic edge. >> reporter: it's a great morning for many terps out there and we're checking in on the roadways and not a bad morning there, either. checking in on the west side of the beltway at 57 miltz pe 57 mr at security boulevard and 60 miles per hour traveling through the catonsville region. all in all not a bad ride there. we do have serious incident to talk about, though, inside of baltimore. there's fire activity and it completely shuts down woo woodwk avenue at liberty road. you will want to use wind falls parkway as an alternate route. there's a disabled vehicle at the fort mchenry tunnel, it's on the northbound lanes. we can show what the scene looks like. you can see it's not causing any delays. there's the activity that doesn't empty that traffic there. as for the southbound lanes, it's getting busy especially approaching the toll plaza and making the get a kick out of it. the faa called the matter totally unacceptable and suspended the father and his supervisor with pay. but some say it's just all being blown out of proportion. samantha hayes joins us live from washington with more on this story. good morning, samantha. >> reporter: you can't mistake that sounds kind of cute and perhaps like a take your child to workday, but the consequences in this case could really be severe. listen a little more to some of transmissions with the children's voices and the pilots and what a former ntsb chairman has to say about this. >> departure, 71, awesome job. >> contact departure. >> contact departure, adios. >> reporter: so the former ntsb chairman mr. gold says that this is basically unacceptable. you have to be careful in a situation like this, because even though it may seem fun to let your child have a chance to do this, if something comes up all of a sudden, you don't want to be distracted. the air traffic controllers association criticized the incident, and the faa calls a lapse in judgment that violated policies. this didn't just happen once but twice. the air traffic controller brought a second child into the control tower and he was able to radio two more planes. you can see why perhaps in this case, the air traffic controller and his supervisor were temporarily suspended. in washington i'm samantha hayes. patrice, back to you. i understand so many people have concerns about it, but who is saying that this is blown out of proportion? >> reporter: the faa and the ntsb who both have policies, who think that is being blown out of proportion, people who listen to this and say, maybe it's really not as bad as these government organization right side making it out to be. perhaps, the father was standing next to the child and perhaps the conditions were such that it wasn't that dangerous, but of course if you're the government agency and you have policies against this sort of thing. if something happens, apparently there was a case with a plane i don't know how many years ago thises was, the pilot allowed a child to come into the cockpit. that can't happen anymore, but the consequences to that incident were fatal. the government organizations are saying, if this for some reason, you know ended up turning for the worst, it could certainly come back and reflect very negatively on the faa. >> you're right and yes, it sounded cute but it's better to err on the side of caution especially with all of those lives up there. samantha hayes reporting live from fire. i'm megan gilliland, who welcome to back to fox 45 morning news. let's check in with meteorologist steve fertig to see what we can expect if we're heading out today and more importantly into the weekend. >> reporter: clouds out there after the light rain moved out of here. look at the hd radar, and no rain over us now and sn no snow. 10-15-mile-an-hour winds out of the northwest and this is what we're looking at, temperatures climbing to 41 by noon. cloudy skies, with breaks of sun here and there. it will be breezy throughout the day as the temperatures drop off to 39 degrees at 6:00 p.m. after hitting the high of 43. again, the 10-20-mile-an-hour wind will make it feel breezier. here is candace dold with the traffic edge. candace. >> reporter: thank you, steve. it is starting to get a bit busy there. we're checking in on the outer loop lanes of the beltway at liberty road and look at the cars coming down the pike. that is the same deal all the way down toward 70. now from 795 down toward 95, well, we're already looking at a slow go there. pretty forma normal but we're dg with a 1 minute-delay, 30 minutes for the actual time, 49 miles per hour. on the top end from 83 up excruciating waiting game here. we're on the 3500 of westbrook avenue. if you take a look at -- wood brook avenue, a lot of crews are on the scene this morning. right now they're trying to search this home to see if there's one more person still inside of the home. when the flames broke out at 2:30 there were reportedly 5 people inside of the home. two of them were able to escape on their own. unfortunately two others were found dead inside of the home but still one person unaccounted for at this hour. investigators ar are searching inside of the home, and meanwhile neighbors are waiting wondering what they're going to find. >> i think he is dead. i can't deal with it. i can't deal with it. >> reporter: now debora who you heard from now, is gathered with her family and friends across the street. they are waiting now for the two bodies to be brought out of that home, and of course, waiting on word to see what is he going to happen to the 5th person still unaccounted for. we talked did have our camera man here last night and based on the history of other duke games we knew it was possible, that's the things police knew this as well. they showed up with the riot gear. and the thing is students were here to celebrate. it was the riot gear and the police added to escalated to something more than just a celebration. take a look at this. amazing stuff last night. we saw tear gas being shot into groups, bean bags being shot at students and it one point even a tree was set on fire here at route 1. now police were seen making many arrests, some say students, they were to blame, they were the ones taunting police. others say police were the ones that were being very aggressive and they were going innocent people that were just standing around and watching what was happening. who is really to blame for the escalation, of course it depends on which side of the police side you are. >> it started in 1999 with fires, damage to property, and injuries and so forth. we're here to try to keep the streets clear and injuries from happening and people safe. >> they were taking videos and pictures with my camera, you know, just to remember it. i got shot at and hit with a beanbag. i asked why? they pointed the gun at he mee n anat me, andthreatened to shoot. >> reporter: the bean bags left welts on the bodies. you can see those now. these people saying they weren't doing anything wrong. prince george's police campus police department, and public safety were here on route 1 ready after the game in case anything did escalate. in years this has ended with burning couches and things spilling over into the community. that did not happen this time and many say it's because of the police had such a big presence here, patrice. >> and the students say it was because the police were there that they acted the way they did. it sounds like the police were needed to keep it from escalating as it did in years past. >> reporter: it's hard to tell. when you get a situation when two diedz ar sides against eachr like that. police have the ammunition to calm it down, whether they need to use it, that is to be debated. >> let's not loose sight of the good news, snow for the northeastern part of new england. it moves out and the high pressure moves in. the and high departing in and on the backside of high pressure we're going to see the warmer temperatures headed in our grex direction for the weekend. all the way to the west coast, that low pressure center, not this one, this one moves north that could be bringing us rain for the middle of next week but the warmer temperatures will be here for next weekend so enjoy that as the temperature rises to the north. right out in temperatures are in the mid-30s throughout the area but we have a 10-15-mile-an-hour wind out of the northwest. that is making temperatures feel instead like they're in the mid 20s. cool start this morning and a chilly afternoon as temperatures only get into the 40s, 44 for the high, for the eastern shore, but with the 10-20-mile-an-hour wind gusting to 30, mostly cloudy skies. it looks to be, again, a cooler than average day but a quiet day. not a whole lot more happening than breezy conditions in the clouds. the we may get peeks of sunshine through the day as well. back to the west we go and here it's a little cooler, 39 for the high, mostly cloudy skies, though with a 10-15-mile-an-hour wind out of the northwest. tonight cloudy skies with 28 degrees for the overnight low. that 10-20-mile-an-hour wind of the northeast making it for a breezy one tonight and making it feel chillier. as we move through the day today, look at temperatures to get to 41 by noon. drop back to 49 at 6:00 p.m. -- 39 at 6:00 p.m. after getting to the high of 41. more whitemarsh. on the west side of the beltway we're at 54 but 46 moving through catonsville. we do have to talk about trouble on 95 this morning. there's a accident. it's on the northbound lanes right near that 895 area. it is actually right at the patapsco river bridge. so if you're traveling through the area, just be aware that we will start to see a slow down. on 95 farther up at 195 near the airport, let's check in. that traffic is flowing freely so we're loving this ride, southbound and northbound stretch up toward the beltway. on 95 traveling through baltimore at 395, let's show you that region and so far we have been seeing favorable conditions, the same deal on the northbound and southbound stretch. just be aware that at the fort marc henry tunnel -- mc10lyhenry tunnel there's an inmate accidentally released from prison, what the police commissioner says should be done so it doesn't happen again. you don't make it by taking more debt on or juggling money around. >> next marylanders rally at the state house. why they say a proposed bill will only make the huge budget a rally in annapolis yesterday took aim at how lawmakers are managing the state budget. the group of americans for prosperity opposites a bill in consideration that would money from the state special fund into the general budget. maryland shouldn't rob peter to pay paul and in the end marylanders are hurt. >> i'm good. >> you had a long day in annapolis yesterday. what are your concerns with this bill? >> well, two. we opposite this bill for two reasons. one is on principle. this is not how you balance the budget. this would be the equivalent of you or taking money out of our social security account to pay for our monthly budget. we can't do that, so why should the government be allowed to do that? number 2, this is bad for business. a lot of funds that the governor is stealing from are funds that you and i and small businesses pay into. when those funds get drained, when they get lower, what happens is taxes get raised and fees go up and premiums go higher. that is going to hurt the state of maryland and any chance of an economic come back that we have. >> some people say these are unprecedented times. we have to do something now and deal with the future when that comes. right now we need to make shoule changes unless we start cutting into the programs, people don't want the education cut and the less money to go to the counties. what do you say to those folks? >> i say that the governor needs to do what families and small businesses across maryland have been doing for the last two years, when revenues are down, we cut spending and change our lifestyle. again, the governor has not done that. he has bragged about preserving this lifestyle of 3, 4, 5, 10 that is good. here is what we're looking at as the rain moves off to east. drier air moves in. 36 for the current temperature in baltimore and d.c. 32 in hagerstown. we expect the temperatures to climb into the 40s, but cooler than average, average being 49. before we get to the milder weekend, we do have to deal with cooler temperatures. with the 10-20-mile-an-hour wind it will feel chillier still. we will talk about temperatures motmoderating as we head towarde weekend with more sunshine coming. we will look at what is happening on the roadways with candace dold. >> reporter: thank you, steve. we're check you on exactly what- we're showing you exactly what is happening out there. you can see it's going to be a slow go on the outer loop lanes and even that ramp from southbound 795 down toward the outer loop direction as well. so we will continue to monitor this situation, but unfortunately, not looking too good for that morning rush. now on the outer loop lanes from 83 up toward 795, that volume continues to build there. looking at a 10 minute clip at 45 miles per hour. and then farther back, from 95 up toward 83 a 12-minute ride there at 50 miles per hour. all in all, that part is looking good so far. that's a look at the morning travels, patrice, back over to you. city firefighters are still on the scene of a deadly blaze in west baltimore. so far officials say two people are confirmed dead. megan gilliland has been live at the scene all morning long. megan, what is happening there now. >> reporter: patrice, a while ago the state medical examiner brought two of the bodies that were found dead inside. i was just talking with the family members this morning. while they didn't want to go on camera, they say they are tiewly speciaspeechless and in shock wh what happened. the search is still continuing for one more person that could be in this home. investigators have been searching for hours for one more person. the flames broke out at 2:30, the 3500 block of wood brook avenue. they were allegedly 5 people inside when these flames broke out. two of them were able to escape on their own. again, two others were unfortunately found dead inside finding that other person has proved to be very difficult. >> during the height of the fire, while firefighters were performing operations, some members intertd structur enteret the second floor level. they reported that there was a lot of debris piled up as high as the windy ledge as they -- window ledge as they were going inside and it poses great hazard to our firefighters because it literally fuels the fire and makes it more intense and difficult for us to extinguish. >> reporter: we talked with chief kevin cartright a few minutes ago and they are continuing to search the home until they have searched every room and every home. these are very large, three story homes and with that debris it makes even harder. now the main concern is for the family and the one person still in search of it this morning. a lot of thoughts and a lot of prayers for these families here on this block. live in northwest baltimore, megan gilliland, fox 45 morning news. a teenager found guilty of a racial beating will be sentenced. 16-year-old manuel miller beat james privot as he was fishing. privot testified that he played dead hoping that the three men attacking him would stop. the two others watson and kevin lockner have not been tried yet. a young man was murdered. officials say the couple who lives in the 1100 block o broke the law by charging entrance to a party. they are charged with operating the home as a nightclub and violating county, zoning and fire violation. a 19-year-old man from silver spring was killed, another victim paralyzed. more than a dozen schools in the archdiocese of baltimore will close for good at the end of the school year. principals found out during a closed door meeting last night that 13 catholic schools in baltimore will close at the end this academic year. that will leave 2100 students and teachers displaced. many not never thought they would see this place especially at cardinal gibbins. >> i never thought they would close this historic landmark like this. if you speak to anyone of them, they're pretty shocked and heartbroken. >> mayor rowlings released a statement saying that cardinal gibbins will be sorely missed as part of the history, the cardinal will hold a news conference to offer more details. the maryland terrapins played one of their biggest games in years last night. they came out on top in spectacular fashion. 4th ranked duke was in town and maryland was looking for a piece of the acc regular season crown. with under a minute to go, greivis vasquez puts up a shot and gets it to go. vasquez led the show you in a second. it was a great game and the students after they rushed the correspondent decidecourt they t rushing for route 1. police were here in riot gear, and it escalated to that. who is to blame? it depends on who you ask. we see tear gas being shot into group of people and bean bags were shot from across the street into a group of people. and at one point the tree caught on fire here on route 1, sheet on fire by stud -- set on fire by the students. i talked to them and they don't have exact numbers or what the kids were actually arrested for. one says that route 1 was shutdown and it was done to stop students from damaging property and get a repeat of past problems over the years. there's a history of riots after duke games t goes back to 1999. students injured by all of these actions, they obviously disagree with what happened. >> they were approaching. they were trying to get people to move back. i was standing there and they fired a bullet near the crowd and they got me. this is absolutely -- this would not be happening if the police weren't here. the only reason we're doing this is because the police are here. >> reporter: prince george's county police were there and campus police and the department of public safety all on route 1 and ready just after the game ended. unlike some other years the action by the fans did not spill over to the local community. we talked to a bartender here. he said that it was because they came out in force why that did not happen. other years, there were couches set on fire and minimal reports of damage and minimal reports of people being injured. you did see kids had welts on their bodies from being hit. in all some are crediting the police for their actions. some were taunting, they say, others really pressure center moving north and east and the high pressure center building in behind it. we will get a northwesterly flow that will bring us winds at 10-20 miles per hour. it will be a chilly wind, it will be a cool breeze, the high pressure center on the backside of it is going to bring the southerly flow. that should warm us nicely. you see the low pressure center that could bringing us rain by next weekend. not concerned about this one as this moves more toward the north as it moves east. as far as the jet stream goes, it will be well to the north and na is another reason for the warm up wind. further points west a high temperature of 39 degrees, could be cooler in the higher elevations certainly but a 10-15-mile-an-hour wind will keep everybody cool through the western part of the slow go there, we are looking at an 18 minute clip at 35 miles per hour, but then much better news farther back from 83 up toward the 795 exit. only looking at a 10-minute drive at 46 miles per hour. and from 95 up toward the 83, 13 minutes right now at 44 miles per hour there. that's a look at your morning travels, patrice, back over to you. city firefighters are on the scene of a deadly blaze in west baltimore. megan gilliland has been live there all morning as she joins us this morning with updated information. good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning, patrice. we have somber news to report to you this morning. at one point there were two people found inside but there was one person unaccounted for. minutes ago investigators found that person dead inside. threethere's 3 people who have n victims to this fire. there's crews trying to wrap up this investigation and figuring out what might have started the fire. the flames broke out at 2:30 this morning. at the time there were 5 people inside 2 of whom were able to escape. among the three victims that pass add way in this fire, we are told that one of them is an amputee. there's no more word on the names of these people and whether or not they're children or adults. that information is not being released at this hour. as the search continued for the final person it was a difficult situation for the families and neighbors in this neighborhood. we talked with some of them. >> i think he is dead. i think he is dead. i can't deal with it. i can't deal with it. >> reporter: now debora who you just heard from there and the rest of her family are playing an intrigue alpart at this point and helping the situation and trying to map the names with unfortunately the bodies. the state medical examiner took the bodies away a while ago to determine the exact cause of death. as to the scene it's unclear what might have caused the fire and it's unclear if they had a smoke detector. that will become available as this investigation continues throughout the day. live in west baltimore, i'm megan gilliland. fox 45 morning news. over in baltimore county one person was hurt during a fire last night in wood lawn. the flames out around 9:00 in the 3300 block of carey road. investigators believe it started in the basement. one person was flown to hopkins bayview with serious burns. a pasadena couple is filing a lawsuit saying that their toyota e cho caused a crash that left the husband partly paralyzed. they were approaching a stop when it suddenly accelerated. applying the brakes did not stop the car and they hit an suv. after the crash he was in a coma for a month. the couple's lawsuit seeks unspecified general and punitive damages. the maryland terrapins play one their biggest games in years last court ended with confrontation. iroute 1 was shutdown after the game as police in riot gear were ready for everything. since 1999 there's been a lot of these especially after duke games. but students say it was the composure or lack thereby by police that accelerated. the police took tear gas and shot that into the crowds at times. bean bags were shot at certain students, too, at one point the tree was set on fire bit students. police put out that quickly. police made many arrests. we contacted them at prince george's county they don't have not ace accoun exact number. we saw many students taken away. we saw that some of the students were taunting police. first it was police being so aggressive with the innocent people that were just watching that took it to the next level. who is to blame for the escalation? it depends on which side of the police line you're on. >> we have a history in '99 with damage an to property and fires. we are here to prevent damage to property and keeping people safe. >> we were here taking video and pictures of my camera just to remember it and i got shot at and hit with a beanbag. i asked why and they pointed the gun at he me and threatened to arrest me and shoot gas at me. >> reporter: the bean bags shot into the crowd did cause welts on the bodies of those that hit. one student was talking and hanging out and all of a sudden a beanbag from across the street shot by police hit him. there was no major damage in terms of all of this to damage to property and there were minimal injuries as well. that has been the positive when you consider that sometime damage in the past couches lit on fire and a lot of trees being uprooted and set on fire. those are the problems from past. it looks like the police were on top of it this time but that take a sky watch hd radar a dry scan. that's a good start to the day. there's showers out there but not over us. any showers have left us and it's up to the north and east and light rain and snow mixed in as can you see around rhode island and parts of massachusetts and connecticut, too even long island. that low pressure center, however in combination with the low pressure center -- the high pressure center off the to the south and west is creating a pressure gradient. therefore we are going to get breezy conditions out there. that is going to make for a chilly day and get a northerly flow, too. expect the temperatures below average and just a a chilly day for today before we start to see moderation. the winds may be up around 10-20 miles per hour. they may even gust higher until the low moves far away where we start to see the high pressure build in. on the west side of the high pressure we are going to get milder pressure to come our way. this is going to move to the north and stay out of our way the north part. and ththat comes with a little f rain but that is about it, the only glifn ou glitch out there. the temperatures will warm up as a result and we will get into the 50s. for some of you it's going to feel like we're past spring almost into the summer, not quite. it's going to feel comfortable and pretty with all of the sunshine coming. 36 degrees right now not feeling so hot with the winds making it feel chillier. 36 degrees in salisbury, and 32 in hagerstown. and when you tack fo factor the 10-20-mile-an-hour winds it will make the temperatures feel like they're in chillier. at 1:00 it will feel cool as we climb to 44 for the eastern shore but the 10-20-mile-an-hour wind gusting to 30 it will make it feel like we're in the 30s. the winds up to 10-20 gusting higher it will feel like the temperatures are in the 30s here. back to the west it will get into the upper 30s, 35 degrees for the high but feeling chillier with the 10-15-mile-an-hour wind. we have cool air out there for another day but the temperatures moderate for tomorrow. a 10-20-mile-an-hour wind. a cool night and 49 degrees for tomorrow's high with cloudy skies to start and turning partly cloudy for the afternoon. mostly clear for saturday and sunday a lot of sunshine. 50 for saturday and 54 for sunday and 53, partly cloudy on monday a nice stretch. 49 cooler on wednesday with a chance of some rainshowers returning at that point. we do want to see what is happening on the roads as always, candace dold is here with the track edge. candace. >> reporter: thank you, steve. we're smack in the middle of the morning rush and checking in on the speeds, you can definitely tell it's busy out there, 39 miles per hour on 95 traveling through whitemarsh and 18 on the beltway at harford road. as for the jfx the 48 miles per hour so even that is getting in on the action. as for what is happening, there's a crash on the southbound lanes of 795 that will cost you time. it's right near owings mills boulevard and it does take out the left lane there. you will want to use reisterstown road as the alternate route. once you finally approach the beltway on that west area, let's check in right at libbe liberty. here is the outer loop lanes. it has been packed and that continues through 70 as well. near the triple bridges, let's check in on the scene at 695, the outer loop continues, the delays stacked up big time toward catonsville and eventually toward wilkins avenue. there's an accident in the area. it's partially blocking the ramp from eastbound security with social networking is that -- i say that lightly that there's a problem, it comes with privacy features. some people rest on those and assume that they're going to protect them and they don't. what i advice people is if you wouldn't feel comfortable mailing it to the mob, don't put it online because it's not private, not secure and not safe. >> people do even something that they may think it's not serious, don't put their social security. put it on the stat on my way out to dinner. that gives everybody your whereabouts, what you're doing, that you're not home? >> yeah. that's true. you have to strike a balance between how nervous you're going to be how paranoid you're going to to be and what is important to share. so necessarily that you're leaving the house might not be critical, but statement, that might not be something -- you know you're taking a risk. you have to understand that it's a risk. you have to understand that for most people that is a minimal risk but it's a i'm not a legal expert but basically my assumption is that is public information, you're sharing something public. in this case my advice to you, if you wouldn't be comfortable mailing that to the other attorney, then i wouldn't post it on pace book. -- facebook. if other people are posting things on facebook that are not true, you should be -- again my advice not as a legal expert if other people are saying things, i would keep documentation off of facebook to try to support your side. >> we actually had an attorney in here and part of his case what was on facebook. he was able to use that in court. >> it's absolutely public and available. law enforcement has shown in many cases that it's not against the rules for them to use that information. i would imagine the same rules would show for an attorney. >> gerald says how often do you employers use social networking sites to hire or check-up on their employees or feature employees. >> i don't have a statistic of how often it happens. it does happen and i know it's growing. so again, this goes back to the advice that i give to students a lot if you wouldn't mail it to your mother, it doesn't go online. anything you say or do or any image you present, can and will be used against you in a court of your job interview. so you definitely want to be careful. if you're a current employee, remember that you're especially in a public facing way if you state that you're an employee of this company which most people do on facebook. where do you work? you put that in there. you're representing a company in some fashion. >> let's go to tiffany, she wrote on facebook. what clues are to know what you're about to be scammed? how can you tell the difference between a real thing and a scam on facebook. >> is this tallly a great question -- actually a great question. for the most part you will see a link that isn't quite right. it will be somebody telling you thayouthat you were in somethin. didn't click on the link, highlight it and google it. google will let you know, you will see where you're about to go. if you don't see it's a video or a picture don't go there. the other piece of that is you shouldn't be morning. it's thursday, march 4th. i'm patrice harris. we're getting closer and closer to the weekend and nice weather. meteorologist steve fertig is here to fill us in on the details and can't wait. >> is it should be nice as you said into the weekend. until we get there, cool, breezy but no snow, we can say that and that is good news. >> that is. >> take a look at the hd radar. we have cloud cover to deal with and breezy conditions too, making it feel chillier. it will be a chilly day but all in all not bad. when you say there's a day without snow, it's not bad at all. 37 degrees the temperature in baltimore the same in d.c. and this time around we get to say no rain as well which is nice. cool out in oakland. you saw 19 degrees. we should see the temperatures climb some up to 43 degrees, but that is well shy of where we should be. typical temperature this time of year is 49 degrees, but today with a 10-20-mile-an-hour wind it will make it feel like the temperatures are in the 30s. still cool for a little bit but we will be talking about the nice weekend forecast in a little bit. right now we want to see how things are looking on the roadways so we turn to candace dold, candace. >> reporter: thank you, steve. we check on the roadways to see what it looks like on liberty road. you can see the drivers trapping their brakes on the entire stretch down to 70. looking at a 9 minute-delay, 21 minutes to get there traveling at 30 miles per hour. now the good news is there are no accidents on the corridor. it's just simply that sheer volume that we to deal with. on the outer loop lanes from 83 up toward 795, the volume continues to build there. 10 minutes at 45 miles per hour and check this out from 95 up toward 83, 27 minutes, 22 miles per hour there. that's a look at your morning travels, patrice, over to you. city firefighters are on the scene of a deadly blaze in west baltimore. so far officials say three people are confirmed dead. megan gilliland is live at the scene and she joins us with more and megan that number has changed over the course of the morning. >> reporter: right, patrice. over a half an hour ago they found a 3rd person dead. this was the person that had been unaccounted for the entire morning. a somber feel in the block that was filled with neighbors and family members. it's quiet this morning. the medical examiner came in and took the bodies out of this home a little bit ago. and just a quiet morning here this morning as people are dealing with what has happened. when the fire broke out at 2:30 this morning. there were reportedly five people inside of this tall brick home. we are told of them were able to escape on their own and initially two of them unfortunately found dead inside. that was one unaccounted for body that took hours and hours before they were able to find him. >> during the height of the fire while firefighters were pe performing operations, members intertd structurentered the stre second store level. they reported ta ther that thers debris piled up to the window ledge. it pose a danger to the firefighters because it fuels the fire and makes it more intense and more difficult for us to extinguish. >> reporter: firefighters were able to find three people dead inside of this home. one of them is amputee. they are not releasing other information. we don't know whether they are adults or children and any other conditions they may have or not have had. no word on what caused this fire and even if they had smoke detectors. i will bring you more information as soon as it becomes available. megan gilliland, fox 45 morning news. more than a dozen schools in the archdiocese of baltimore will close for good at end of the school year. principals found out during a closed door meeting yesterday that 13 catholic schools in bale baltimore will close at end of the academic year. that will leave 2100 students and with 300 teachers displaced. many thought they would never see this day especially at cardinal gibbins. >> i never thought they would close this landmark here. >> mayor rawlings-blake released a statement saying that carnal gibbins leaves a legacy of academic set. the archbishop will hold a news conference this morning to offer more details. the maryland terps played one of their biggest games in years last night and they came out on top in spectacular fashion. with under a pi minute to go, te terps up by 2. and vasquez led the way with 20 points and maryland upsets 4th ranked duke, 79-72. it's the terps 6th straight win and it snaps their 6 game losing streak to duke of the even better for the terps they could win -- -- with this win they could possibly clench a share the acc regular season title. quite happy right there. what started with jubilation and rushing court at college park ended with police in riot gear making arrest and shooting bean bags into a rudy grou rude rowdf students on route 1. joel d smith is live with the video you will only see on fox 45. >> reporter: we're back to the a regular morning at college park. this is knox road and route 1 a very busy intersection. imagine last night, no one was alload here. and -- allowed here and the school was completely shutdown. police were lined up with riot gear. the pleas based on the history after duke games were ready in riot gear. that is what students say escalated this to the next level. we see pictures of the police shooting tear gas into the group into a crowd right here. bean bags were shot at students and at one point a tree was at thseton fire by students. that was put out quickly. police spokesperson says it was done to stop students from damaging property and making a repeat of other years. students disagree. >> i was standing there and they were pointing their guns at someone. they fired into the crowd and got me. this is absolutely -- this would not be happening if the police weren't here. the only reason we're doing this is because the police are here. >> reporter: the police over there, prince george's county police, campus police, and the department of public safety all on hand and shutdown route 1 just after the game ended as the people came out here to celebrate. some were you know, crawling up light poles and some say neighbors instigating police. some say because police came in the riot gear it took it to the next level. >> police were trying to be proactive. we talked to the university of maryland glad grads that were ae station, that is common. there were all rights after stuff like this. >> reporter: that means it's property damage. that means people can get hurt and because there was the potential for that to happen again, is why the police came out in force in the riot gear. and the bartender gave police credit [ laughter ] it's our fund raider for the spring because we're not -- fundraiser for the spring. this is one of them. we used to have it a while ago and it was wildly popular. right now we're having our general curator mike mcclure talk about the bee the birds ans anthe,bees and how they find ma. >> is that a mating call. >> it is, they liv he lives wits brother and little ritz that doesn't have a gill friend. if he was a girl, he could layup to 300 eggs. farmers really like them. he likes my necklace and he is going to go after the mic next. farmers liked them because they lay so many eggs. they wrote that they were penguin ducks because they stand straight up. they don't fly well at all if they fly at all. they look like penguins and have the same appearance. >> don't need to fly. >> for more information log on to foxbaltimore.com/morning. coming up next, the girls hit the stage on american idol. i just heard the news today >> what the judges thought of michelle's performance last night. you are watc lcome back to fox 45 morning news. 8:30 is the time. i'm patrice harris. let's get a check of the forecast. our meteorologist steve fertig is here. >> the duck was making his at home. >> yes. >> he was spreading his wings. >> he with excited about the weekend for other reasons. we have a lot of sunshine and the temperatures that will be getting into the 50s. right now 37 degrees in baltimore, 34 degrees in hagerstown, salisbury 36. it's feeling like 20s out there with the winds at 10-15 miles per hour. we have mostly cloudy skies but we're seeing breaks in the clouds and a little bit of sun, too, so that is good news. the system in the northeast is going to move out of here. what it will do is take the winds with it. it will be breezy and dry so that is good. tomorrow, saturday and sunday lots of sunshine. it looks like we got milder temperatures coming this weekend as we head into the 50s. it will be feeling really good and that will get you in the mood to get you outside and have you do whatever it is you want to. here is candace dold with the traffic edge. >> reporter: thank you, steve. i'm going to leave that one there and move on to the traffic report. all right, we're checking in on the beltway here and things are looking much better right now traveling through the towson region all the way up toward the jfx. we don't have any incidents just a lot of volume at this time. the outer loop lanes from 95 up toward 83 looking at a slow go, 8 minute-delay, 20 minutes to get there, traveling at 35 miles per hour at the average. the trouble spot is around the harford road region. as for what is happening farther down from 83 toward 95, we're looking at a normal clip. 34 miles per hour. look at the west side from 795 toward 95, 33 miles per hour with a 19-minute drive. that's a look at your morning travels. patrice, over to you. city firefighters are still on the scene of a deadly blaze in west baltimore. and now we know that officials are confirming three people dead in that fire. megan gilliland is joining us life with the latest, good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning, patrice. definitely a somber feeling along the 3550 block of wood brook avenue. you can see firefighters are still on the scene. throughout the morning there were so many neighbors and so many family members of the victims watching as the fire sparked at 2:30 this morning. initially there were worts thate reports that there were 5 people inside. one of them much unaccounted for for much the morning. an hour ago fire officials found the 3rd victim inside of the home. of those two victims one of them is an amputee. whether they're adults or children or ages that information has not been released. the bodies were taken to the medical examiner to see what is the cause of death. at this point they're going to go in and see what started this fire and whether there was smoke detectors something else we are still waiting to hear word on. live in west baltimore, megan gilliland fox 45 morning news. the maryland terp pins terrs played one of their biggest games in years last night. they came out in spectacular fashion. with under a minute to he go, terps up by 2, and maryland greivis vasquez puts up a fight. he led the way with 20 points and maryland upsets duke 79-72. it's the terps 6th straight win and it snaps the 6th game losing streak to duke. even better for terps, with the win they could clinch a share of the regular a acc season title. after the game our cameras were rolling as the students slipped on to route 1 only to prevent rioting of years past. what resulted is bean bags being shot into the crowds with many students being arrested. quiet scene there this morning, much different last night. >> reporter: definitely the route 1 behind me pop uloor u-- popular route to come. police were ready and were in riot gear. angela, what did you see? >> i saw a bunch of students rioting and police all of a sudden came out on horses, on mounted horses and behind them they had the shields and started coming toward us and tell us to get and run away. >> reporter: we have people hit with been bags and tear gas came into the scene. what did you experience. >> tear gas did come to the scene. when students were told to go that way and horses got there, they started rallying again. i got some not directly in my face but i got it in my throat. >> reporter: this morning your still feeling something?
