baltimore county man was shot to death in his front yard. this morning, police are still looking for the gun man. >> happened in the 7000 block of railway avenue in dundalk. >> i saw the helicopter, and i saw the spotlight. it was moving over every street in the shining a light. i was scared. >> people in this neighborhood found out -- or around 2:30 saturday morning, a 40-year-old man was shot and killed and his own front yard and the 7000 block of railway avenue. >> i am shocked. there were break-ins and things, but that is the worst so far. >> usually everything happens on the other side. this neighborhood has been quiet since we lived here. we moved in 12 years ago. >> he has been identified as the owner of the hops inn. >> it is scary. >> police say they have no motive for the murder or suspects, except for two men seen running away from the area after the murder. neighbors say that concerned them and they will take extra precautions. >> we lock everything out. you cannot leave a car -- to have to double check everything out. we let our kids played pretty much up and down this street. maybe on the next one, even. we will make sure they stay in front of the house know, even in daylight. -- the house now, even in daylight. >> if you have information please contact baltimore county police. detectives are dealing with another deadly detective -- deadly shooting and the lansdowne area. he was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead shortly after. no word on the suspect or a possible motive in that case. >> two florida men are charged with the shooting death of a baltimore man and are behind bars this morning. 25-year-old langsford ran into a hotel lobby, and he was taken to a hospital where he later died. they believe that the suspects were attempting to take -- to make a drug deal. an officer was responding to a car alarm when he found a suspect in sight of his off-duty vehicle. happened around midnight saturday on chase street. he confronted the suspect a a and opened fire when he noticed a knife. >> once the individual approached the officer, he fired a defensive shot, incapacitating him by shooting him in the right the officer involved is a 10- year veteran. >> anne arundel county police are investigating the death of a six-month old boy. it happened shortly after 9:00 saturday morning. homicide detectives were notified. at this time, cause of death has not been determined. a community is mourning the loss of three children killed last week in the same fire that severely burned their mother. today, friends and family are hosting a fund raiser to cover funeral expenses. >> been through one of the worst tragedies you could ever imagine. we are trying to get through this. >>mirand johnson -- miranda j ohnson talked about losing her nieces and nephew. all killed in a fire at his home in northeast. saturday afternoon, they invited neighbors to a fund-raiser in the same neighborhood where a memorial sit in front of a charter home that destroyed the family. >> it was a quick moving fire. there responded it 3:30. >> the fire started in the living room. all three children died from breathing in too much smoke. family members say even though the fire took three let -- three young lives, they will live on for ever in their memory. >> i have a picture of shana from my wedding. she is in a pink cowboy boots. i am going to buy 70's later on today. there could be a few showers left on monday, but high pressure will move in behind that and take control through the middle of the week, which means quiet conditions. a lot of computer models are developing a tropical low off the southeast coast during the middle of next week. then the forecast will change. we will keep an eye on it. for today, a chance for rainshowers, otherwise, a mixture of clouds and sunshine. the high temperature about 75 degrees this afternoon. tonight, partly cloudy, still a chance of showers, temperatures near 60. there could be fog developing late tonight after midnight. just a slight chance for a couple of showers to start the work we with a high near 76. sunshine comes back tuesday, wednesday, thursday. temperatures in the low to mid 80's. for now, we will stay quiet weather, maybe a few thunderstorms going into next week and, memorial day weekend. it is just around the corner. >> it has been more than a month since an oil there is a true emergency. there is a hospital in detroit that does it guarantee the wait time for 29 minutes or less, and if they do not need that, they tear out baseball tickets. >> are you being nice fragrance. >> are we crowding this pot? >> we may be. you can keep cutting them back. lavender. it is great for popery -- potpourri. it is the curve of relaxation. you need a nice little ball of fragrant herbs -- it is the urban of relaxation. -- the herb of relaxation. >> it is kind of pretty. if it is going to be indoors, how much fertilizer to you need? >> arkansas best just need a tiny bit. the more you fertilized -- herbs just need a tiny bit. >> last week, we talked about hanging baskets. you could do the same thing with this. this is a, what would you call it, a strawberry plan in reverse? >> very similar. you can grow them in a small space. you can grow 10 herbs in a plot like this. most of them that can handle oregano,iddry, rosemary, and lavender can cohabit in a plot not, the weather has improved since early this morning. there was heavy rain and western suburbs. in widely scattered light rain showers -- that should be the case for the rest of the afternoon. the forecast goes like this. a mixture of clouds, maybe a little sunshine through the afternoon. we will put about 40% chance that you'll run into rain. we will take a look at the 7 day forecast in a few minutes. >> time now, for our sunday morning q and a. joining us is maryland's attorney general, doug gansler. there is a lot happening with the chesapeake bay and the environment. i have heard you say in the past it can be difficult to go after the offender's polluting the bay. why is that? >> the condition of the chesapeake bay is worse than we might say. we say it has improved. we're we want to go is 50 years ago and tried to clean it up. the oysters, the crabs, the water industry. you have to look at it from the enforcement side. you go in state and other state. we have to be creative in terms of education for people and bigger things, like we are trying to give up power plan to burn it chicken menu or so we can take half a billion pounds of chicken manure from ever going into the water in the first place. >> it sounds as though manpower is a problem. how many investigators do you have? >> there is a resource issue. for example, there are 13,000 farms in maryland and there are six people that are supposed to keep them in compliance. resources are very weak. you have to pray or tories who you go after. -- prioritize who you go after. everybody has to do their part. there is no panacea for this. there is a lot of different ways we need to go after them. >> do you have the at the ready to go after people who pollute in another state? >> we do. we went after a plan in western maryland that was putting mercury -- west virginia, and all of our waterways are mercury-infested. we went after american electric power in the ohio river valley. it was the biggest environmental case in the history of the u.s. we had a $4.6 billion settlement case. that is the kind of thing we are doing. our next thing we need to do is address the situation in the susquehanna in pennsylvania. half of the water comes from the susquehanna. they flush their pollution from pennsylvania into our day. >> moving on into same-sex marriage. how does that translate now and to state benefits for employees? >> in terms of the law, it was not controversy. the question is whether or not you recognize same-sex marriages, the question is do we you recognize a of valid contracts. we do. it has less to do with same-sex marriage and more to do with states' rights. for example, we honored driver's licenses. how does that get implemented withere, if you have a legal marriage from another state? it will not have much effect. two people cannot just say we have lived together for 12 months, we are partners. you have to go to one of these states, get married, have a valid contract and come back to maryland. >> i know your office spends a lot of time prosecuting, but there is a new trend were copiers can be used to store and steal personal information. >> it seems like everything has a computer chip in it. that includes copiers. it is a computer. they store the information that they had just copied into a computer and that is put into a computer bank. the issue is we want people to know that that is out there, particularly businesses. you have to be mindful of the fact that if you take it to a different place, stables, that information can and will be stored. we have not had any -- had any specific complaints, but we are looking for people to be aware of its. >> i would on the edge in those cases could be tricky to prosecute, the -- i would imagine those cases would be tricky to prosecute. >> that's right. it is not dissimilar from a computer. the whole idea is people take identities of a computer. the idea of a computer is that you are shrouded in
