ready to walk out the door and he'd be like this up the wall and i'd say no one can see this but he would say, we have to get this off. get the magic eraser, it is magic, gets rid of everything but dirty underwear. >> it works in the tub and shower, too. >> it works on shoes. >> it is an obsession. you say know the movie schedule for the local theaters. >> we were so motivated, we had to sell our first house in order to buy the dream home so we had -- now, i don't necessarily recommend this, we had eight open houses in 10 weeks which meant every sunday we had to be out of the house but you have to be out of the house on saturday because people want to see it. know what movies are everywhere. we saw 10 movies in eight weeks. my husband would say, what are we seeg and i said, i don't know, it's got this person in it, we will just see it, because this is happening during the winter so we couldn't go out and do people watching or picnic, no, no. >> pick up the carry-out menus from everywhere because good to cook, right? >> if you cook too many things, you have to clean up and you don't want to make fish. your real estate agent can call and say, someone's -- literally, someone's right outside your door and would like to see the house. well, great. >> and you're in your underwear. >> you get carry-out menus because you're going to be eating and running all the time. >> let the real estate agent stage your home. we hear about that all the time. our. >> our house wasn't getting offers and this was when the market was turning for the worst and what happened, our agent said, let me stage the dining room and i said ok, which meantime getting rid of the dining room table and she put a chair and a plant stand and a lamp and i said, who's going to dine there? this is ridiculous. she said, trust me and i trusted sandy and would you believe the first open house after that, people walked into the dining room, looked up at the chandelier and said, do you know what we could do? we could put a dining room table there. well, duh, it's the dining room. so let them stage your home. you'll think it looks insane, just do it because within a week we had an offer on our house. >> and they were probably thinking, you poor lady, you don't have a dining room. >> you poor, stupid woman, you didn't realize this was the dining room. you had a chair and a plant stand in here. >> pets? >> we had three dogs at the time. when you sell your home, nobody wants to know -- first of all, they don't want to know you lived there much less that you have animals. we boarded our three dogs every weekend for 2 1/2 months and every day, one of the dogs was black and shed the most. black fur everywhere, i was vacuuming every day, all the time. to clean up, hide their toys, their bowls. you want no smells because -- i'm serious. we walked in when we were looking at houses, the person had three cats and they were all there. i don't want to know that. we boarded our dogs and our vet is still in the caribbean. >> you're right. you really don't want to see the people who live there. i don't know why. what is that? >> i really didn't care if they had like personal pictures but we were told, nothing personal, so all the personal pictures get taken away, any awards, anything. and that's where it becomes, it has to look livable like what a cozy, nice house, but they don't want to know you brushed your teeth in the sink that morning. i would have to clean the bathroom like martha stewart. >> that is wild. i think part of it is people want to imagine themselves there but don't want to think of anybody else having been there. >> what they should do is take a picture of my house, take a picture of themselves and glue it and there, they can see themselves in the house. it was ridiculous. it's why we are never moving again besides the fact that we are in our dream home. we are never moving, ever, ever. >> are you sure? >> no, yes, never. >> you have a big benefit coming up. you're going to be with mickey and the comedy improv and fund-raising event tonight at 8:00, 2800 edison highway, how much are the tickets? >> the tickets are $20. all the proceeds benefit catholic high. they're going to revamp their science department with it. and everyone should come. >> you should go. again, the name of the book is, "next time i move they'll carry me out in a box," by michelle wojciechowski. you should go even though it's catholic high. i'm an archbishop seal girl. stay with us, 11 fitness is coming up next. here's a look at last night's winning lottery numbers. do that. the time of year where it's actually -- i think it was a time of new beginnings, don't you? school's back and even though our kids are grown, i'm going to be a grandmother soon. >> congratulations. >> thank you. but you think about new beginnings, kids are back at school. a fresh time, you think about getting back into shape but it also brings with it the holidays and crazy back-to-school nights so you to do it but how do you fit it all in? so what i do with one of my clients this week, beautiful weather now so to do it outside, wrap tubings around your waist, walking out, a power walk for eight minutes. >> adds twice your waist. >> you say from here to the next mailbox it's going to be maybe a minute, you really pick up your pace and stop. untie the tubing from the waist and do your first exercise. right on the side of the street, get over to the side, the sidewalk, right, and pick, like, several muscle groups you can go through and as often as you can combine two different body groups -- squats and shoulders, ok, the better, so that you're hitting as much as you can at once, take it off, put it back on your waist and then again, maybe jog if you're a jogger from there to the next lamppost, pull it out, wrap it around the lamppost -- you're my lamppost. and just, at the lamppost here, a lunge as you're doing it. do that for another minute or so and then wrap it back on your waist. >> take your tools and travel. >> take your tools and travel and people sometimes stop and go, what are you dismoog it's a cool idea. if you don't want to take it outside, if the weather gets cooler, you don't need treadmills and stair masters in your house. all you snead maybe something like a bosu but if you want to get that sophisticated, what did we have here? >> a jumprope. >> adults are terrified by jumpropes, have you ever noticed? >> scared of jumpropes. >> when you were kids, your parents used to tell you to stop jumping and come eat but now it's the opposite. you get going. jump roping is difficult to sustain for a few minutes so that's all you need is maybe a minute. >> do that and away you go. >> put it down. >> quickly, we have to wrap up.
