Lamar odom is fighting for his life after he was found unconscious. 35yearold former nba star played for the Los Angeles Lakers and clippers and is a native of queens. Dray clark is live in Middle Village where odom attended high school. Lamar odom spent three years school. He once said leaving here was one of the worst decisions he made. No one can forget the sense of pride and prestige he brought the school. This morning there are many prayers for odom as he recovers in that las vegas hospital. This is video of odom arriving at the hospital yesterday afternoon. He is reportedly in very critical condition. Odom was found unconscious at the love ranch, a wellknown brothel 70 miles outside las vegas. Emts were able to stabilize him and drive him to the hospital in vegas. They planned to airlift him but he was too tall for the helicopter. Days. He was in good spirits and having a real good time until he was found unresponsive. I was not there. Horrifying. Blood was coming out of him. When they put him on his left side he started throwing up, but he definitely was alive while he was there. They put him in the ambulance. Reporter at 610 he was a forward and a starstudded player, in fact winning two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. He had a few runins with the law from time to time and was rumored to have a big problem with Substance Abuse and last played in the nba in 2013. In 2009 he married Chloe Kardashian, and she eventually filed for divorce four years later. Happening today, the demolition will begin on a vacant hospital in Staten Island following the death of a teenager there last week. Police say 16yearold Marcos Castillo was playing with friends inside the building when he fell seven stories town an elevator shaft. Eyewitness News Reporter kala rama is live now outside the building. Reporter a memorial of candles and flowers sitting outside the gate to that abandoned building. Finally today demolition will start to tear this eyesore down, something that the neighborhood has been waiting for for months. Back in february an Emergency Declaration was issued for the building to be demolished along with an order to seal the old Staten Island hospital on castleton avenue. After eight months the building is Still Standing and accessible. Police say 16yearold Marcos Castillo and four others were playing in the abandoned building right before he plunged to his death in an elevator shaft last friday. Now castillos parents are happy about the demolition but still grief stricken over the loss of their son. Hes only 16 years old. Hes beautiful. Hes lovely. I dont want it to happen with the other kids the same like us. Reporter today a gathering of castillos family and friends will take place at our lady of mount carmel benidicta church, the funeral is tomorrow at 10 a. M. This demolition will take four to six months to complete. Questions still loom on why it took more than eight months to come down after that Emergency Declaration was declared back in june. Thank you. Developing this morning, lamar odom is fighting for his life. The former nba star and High School Basketball phenom from queens was found unconscious in a nevada brothel. Eyewitness News Reporter dray clark is live now in queens where odom played high school ball. Dray. Good morning, lori. Lamar odom was born and raised right here in queens and he was a bona fide super star here because of his stellar play on the basketball court. This morning there are prayers going up for odom from across the country as he recovers from a las vegas hospital. Now this is video of lamar odom arriving at that hospital in vegas yesterday afternoon. He is said to be in very critical condition. Odom was found unconscious at the love ranch, a wellknown brothel about 70 miles outside las vegas. Emts were able to stabilize odom and eventually drive him to the hospital. They had planned to airlift him to the hospital, but he was too tall to fit into the helicopter. He says odom had been there for several days in very good spirits and all was going well until he was found unresponsive. I was not there. My staff said that it was horrifying. Blood was coming out of him. When they put him on his left side he started throwing up, but he definitely was alive while he was there. They put him in the ambulance. Now at 6 10 he a forward in the nba and odom was a bona fide super star in the nba winning two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. He last played in the nba in 2013. He had some runins with the law, and he certainly did have a struggle with Substance Abuse. In 2009 he married Chloe Kardashian, but she filed for divorce in 2013 citing irreconcilable differences. A brutal weekend in north dakota. Residents and firefighters found themselves battling a pair of fires that devastated the town of cannonball.
