Victim right between the two ambulances that you see right out here on jf kennedy boulevard has it was described, the incident taking place around 2 15 this afternoon. We understand once again the victim is a 43yearold man killed after being struck by a pickup truck right here in bay on. The victim was getting into the suv when he was struck by the pickup truck which kept traveling northbound on kennedy boulevard before the parked car and ended up on the sidewalk. The 43yearold victim has been pronounced dead on the scene. This entire area around jfk boulevard, we can tell you theres no traffic on the box that parallel jfk boulevard. A lot of traffic and a lot of people off the block. Pedestrian are standing along the side. Obviously still concerned by what theyre seeing on the ground this afternoon. Police out here in force and a lot of responders out here and a lot of police and ambulance responder getting to the scene to see this tragedy which occurred outside of a School Across the street from the school. A doctor, pa die trift is in the hospital after he was shot in the foot. It happened when a gun accidentally went off in that Doctors Office in ocean side. Reporter police are saying this was definitely an accident, but what a big mistake. The 77yearold retired nypd officer fired this weapon by accident. Theres a lot of questions about why someone would bring a loaded gun into a Doctors Office. The unidentified 77yearold retired officer was in dr. Nelsons office when he fired the gun, according to police by accident. He was pulling it out of his he shot himself through the left and dr. Michelle, thank you. A man who claims a Police Officer stomped on his head is demanding justice. Cell phone shows officer joel stomping on cuffys head while he was handcuffed and on the ground. Cuffy admits he was resisting arrest, but says the officer over reacted. Cuffy claims he was kicked in the head and hit the concrete so hard he blacked out. He had something something was wrong with him that day. I dont know what caused him to did. Charges against cuffy were eventually dropped. He says hes worked sporadically since that incident. The officer is face hes facing misdemeanor charges and cuffy hopes the officer loses his job. One day after trump swept five states by wide margins, its ted cruz who is making headlines in a desperate move to alter the primary direction. What we know at this point is the vehicle actually broke down on the green lane Railroad Crossing, but the driver was out of harms way and the train traveling northbound on the tracks came through that Railroad Crossing and collided with the car. The driver of the car not in harms way and none of the passengers onboard the train were injured. The northbound train is stopped at this Railroad Crossing and well bring the shot out to give you the cooned of well give you the kind of response. We want show you the northbound side coming into your picture. Exit 38, 43 lane is shut down and thats causing the traffic nightmare there as well as delays because of this accident. After trumps victory last night, he only needs about 50 of he needs 50 of the delegates. Hes hoping fiorina will give him the bust he needs. A major heroin bust. Police arrested several people who they say are linked to nearly a dozen overdoses. Five of them ended in death. Long island reporter christian thorn live in river head with more on this story. Christian. Reporter prosecutors say two overdoses was a mother and her son. They say they died only hours after buying some of this heroin. Prosecutors say this man 21yearold dunn is the person who sold it to them at their home. Hes accused of being in at heat one other heroin related death. He was arraigned this morning in river head. Youre seeing here. Prosecutors say his major supplier was almonte. When police raided her home, they found 200 grams of heroin, also in her home at the time when they raided the home, her 2yearold daughter. Four other people including a navy veteran were arrested as part of this drug investigation. That investigation involved wiretapping and lots ever undercover work. Prosecutors say they sold drugs in the shirley area. They were able to determine this drug net by speaking with survivors. Those who overdosed and those who survived have told repeatedly, the Police Officers and the prosecutors that dunn was their supplier. Coming up on Eyewitness News at 6 00, judge gave a high bail to one of these defendants because she is six months pregnant. Live in river head, im Eyewitness News. An agreement to have Belmont Police to patrol officials disband his 10member force to save it will last ten years. Lake coma will pay authorities arrested five cargo workers for scheming to steal foreign currency carried onto international flights. The conspiracy span over four years says the police. They say the Cargo Handlers targeted mail they believe contained foreign currency. Investigators say a manager where they could steal the mail. 12,000 in violations was pulled over at the holland tunnel. Police noticed a black mercedes had no front license plate as it pulled up to the toll booth yesterday afternoon. Then the easy pass reader flashed toll unpaid. I wanted to know why all of a sudden im allergic to key weeds when i was able to eat it . This is a great question. This is theres a lot we dont know about Food Allergies in adults. Heres the thing. If you ask a group of adults about whether theyre allergic to food, a quarter of all adults are going to say they are. But when studied, a small portion is allergic. Allergy is an immune reaction to a food other than lactose intolerance where bodies arent making enough enzymes. Food allergies develop in the first two years of life. Were seeing more in adults as people get older and their immune system changes. If you think you have a food allergy, see an allergist because they can test you and develop a plan. If you have a food allergy, you have to take seriously and be ready to respond to. It happened to me with fruit, but it was pollen. I thought it was fruit, but it was my allergy to pollen. Michelle has questions about diet. Id like to know from all the preservatives in our diet worse, the sugars or the fats. I love this question. It lets me talk about the natural verses the unnatural thing. So preservatives are naturally in our food theyre added to prevent contamination. Reporter a High Speed Police pursuit through a half dozen towns ends with a fireball. The events unfolded on live local tv. Viewers glued to their screens wondering what would happen next. Officers approached a toyota camry stopped near a dam about 30 miles south of boston. They tried to talk to the driver but said his answers made no sense. He took off and dragged one of the officers about 100 yards. Fortunately that officer is okay. Watch as he treats the sedan like a race car. He weaves in and out of traffic for several minutes before he spins out in the middle of the highway. It doesnt end here. Burning rubber. The car speeds in to the town and cuts it much too close for one driver who pulled on road. I didnt see him at all. He runs but what you dont see here, the guy darts in to an Apartment Building and reportedly tries to bribe a man to let him in to his place. Police catch up to that dangerous driver and arrest him. Weve learned in the past 20 years there have been seven accidents at this very crossing. Back in 2008 there were changes made in this area but today was the first accident at that lets get to shannon sohn above the scene in newscopter7. We can tell you that the accident that happened this time around happened because a car broke down on the Railroad Crossing at green lane. Well bring the picture out to show you where that car is. The driver of the vehicle was able to get out in to safetys way before the train came through, hitting the vehicle. The train was loaded with passengers. None of the passengers were injured. They brought a rescue train up on the other side of the tracks. They put a ladder in between those two trains and a plank on it. I think weve got tape to show you from just a few minutes ago. Captain randy and i have been over the scene when they first brought the plank out in between the two trains and they had about 80 passengers transferred from one train to the other. Theyve got workers on the ground, firefighters on either need help as they cross the plank. So far about 80 passengers have been transferred from one train to the other. This is two tracks that go through this area. Both tracks were taken up, the accident train as well as the rescue train. Right now no trains moving on Metro North Harlem line. At this point theyre telling us it is a 70minute delay on the harlem line. The right side of your screen, thats the Sawmill River exit.
