This is the address where a woman and her five children died in a horrific fire 30 years ago. Three men were arrested and convicted for set that fire but tonight, those convictions have been thrown out. Two served just over 33 years in prison. A third man, their friend, died in prison. Prosecutors here many brooklyn admitted today that the men were innocent all along, that they had been framed by the billings drug thedealing landlord who later made a death bed retraction. Reporters that the men were also victims of the Fire Investigation itself, that marshalls declared the cause of arson based on theories of arson in the 1980s that are now widely discredited and the fire is now believed to have started accidentally. The fact that two of the men today spent 33 years in prison because they were wrongfully convicted is not what we should be about here in brooklyn. And so with took the steps today as prosecutors to do the right thing and to give them back their good name. Those years, nothing in the world could give them back, no money, no nothing. Just like i lost myself in prison. I lost 33. 5 years of my life. I went in at 30 and come out at 65. Reporter 65 years old. We are at the scene. And what can you tell us about the situation there . Reporter liz, david, this is an ugly scene and its very much an active investigation. You can see the truck is still on the scene. It has not moved. It is still spinning. The cement truck. From what we have learned, three people were hit by the truck as it was turning on to 55th avenue from junction boulevard. And as you of them were children. All three of them were taken to elmhurst hospital. But as you can imagine, the busy intersection is gridlocked. 55th avenue is closed off. So cars having to turn off. Its creating quite a scene over here as Police Continue to investigate. And i just have to tell you, upon closer inspection of this scene, getting closer to that truck, sadly you can see a pair of sneaker, one of them underneath the tire and unfortunately, you also see some blood. Again, we do not know the extent of the injuries but three people were hurt and two were children. They were taken to the hospital after they were hit by the cement truck. Also in queen, police are searching for the man behind a brutal attack on a teen as she walked to school. The 16yearold Exchange Student slashed in the face and stone. This at about 8 30. Up behind the teen and cut her twice. Now authorities plan to release a photo of the man who is described as wearing a surgical mask, hooded sweatshirt and white gloves. The victim is in the hospital in stable condition and people in the community are horrified by what they have seen. Her brother and sister are with her at the hospital. Well police on long island today are searching for a hit andrun driver who killed a 32 yearold man last night. He is a father of three, and he was on his way to have din we are his family but to have dinner with his family but he never showed up. Reporter the father of three never made it to his mothers house. Someone driving this trailblazer hit his car, killing him. The driver of the trailblazer ditched the car and ran away. Im not mad.
