days since flight 370 disappeared. now, search teams are still chasing the leads to the missing plane's location. crews are searching a new area. some 700 miles northeast of the previously announced target zone for debris. this is based off new data suggesting the aircraft was moving faster than previously thought, meaning it would have run out of fuel faster. nbc's ian williams joins you from perth. what does this mean for the old search area? >> well, it means, thomas, that for now, they are moving out of that old search area. they had appeared to be honing in on an area in the southern part of the indian ocean, aided by multiple satellite images. it now appears that they were false leads and, in fact, those satellite images might not have been the aircraft at all. the new search is based on an examination, a re-examination of radar data which suggests the aircraft was flying faster and may have crashed sooner. now, that puts it in the water about 1100, 1200 miles off the coast of australia. that's a good 400 miles closer to australia than the previous search area. so planes can get there more speedily? the weather is said to be better. it is still deep, 6,000 to 12,000 feet in depth. on top of that, it is an area the size of new mexico or poland. they are only moving their assets up. there are planes today, ships getting there over the weekend and repositioning satellites. in many respects, they are back to square one. >> ian williams reporting from perth. the affordable care act has reached a key new milestone. president obama announcing yesterday that more than 6 million americans enrolled for coverage. that exceeds the government's revised goal but falls short of the initial target of 7 million by monday's march 31st deadline. white house saying that there has been a significant surge in interest in recent weeks. more than 1.8 million enrolled in march. on wednesday alone, 1.5 visited healthcare.gov. call centers receiving more than 430,000 calls. the total number does not include more than 3 million people who are able to stay on their parent's insurance plans until 26. the figure excludes enrollees for medicare and mid okayed. organ is in such bad shape they are enrolling on paper. officials are offering to help other states out. the governor of connecticut, dannel malloy, is going to be a guest on "morning joe" to talk about why their state is doing so well. the report commission by governor chris christie concludes he had no involvement in the closure in the lanes on the george washington bridge. >> we found that governor christie had no knowledge beforehand of this george washington bridge realignment idea. governor christie had no involvement in the decision to close the lanes and no prior knowledge of it, not a shred of evidence of it. so, yes, our findings today are a vindication of governor christie and what he said all along. >> but 340 pages $1 million later, questions surrounding the governor are far from settled. the focuses on david wildstein and bridget anne kelly. it says that wildstein seemed to be the instigator of this plan comparing it to so many other crazy ones that never got off the ground. it says that bill sptep eyen wa aware of the screen. it says the governor's version of the event rings true. wildstein says he discussed the lane closures with christie during a september 11th event which christie denies. >> david wildstein has said at a 9/11 event, he talked to you about traffic, a little ambiguous. did he? >> i don't have any recollection of that, diane. david was one of hundreds of people i spoke to. we stood around and spoke briefly i don't have a recollection of him saying anything. he didn't say, hey, by the way, governor, i'm closing down some lanes in the george washington bridge to stick it to the mayor. is that okay? that, i would remember. >> even if wildstein did bring it up, it would not have been meaningful or memborable to the governor. christie is described over and over as being emotional with these meetings trying to get to the bottom of what happened. the document tackles another scandal, that dawn zimmer was denied hurricane sandy relief funds. during a town hall meeting, she says a commissioner pressured her to go forward. this disputes the claims. photos show her smiling and yawning. the report concludes a person does not normally yawn when being threatened, coerced or spoken to improperly. top republicans are touting their credentials this weekend. many meeting with casino billionaire, sheldon adelson. he fund ld more than 90 million into the 2012 cycle. he can play a large role in helping to fund the candidate. jeb bush has top rating. he spent yesterday challenging the school system to raise expectations for students. rand paul is busy advancing his ground game.
