The firstdegree murder charge carries with it up to life in prison and the prosecutors, the district attorney, say they are not pursuing capital murder which could carry with it the death penalty. They also wouldnt say whether any deal had been made between the defendant and prosecutors in this case. Matthew has also been charged in the 2005 attempted murder of a 26yearold young woman. He has pled not guilty to all of those charges. That case has forensic evidence linking it to the 2009 murder of a young woman named morgan harrington, a student at Virginia Tech university who had, at the time been here in charlottesville in the area for a rock concert but disappeared and her body under similar circumstances to that of Hannah Graham was found many miles away basically deposited in a field. She agreed to basically expand the lawsuit to bring in additional parties, people who tried to get a license in Mobile County and couldnt and add a defendant and add a hearing about whether he should be ordered to grant the license. So i think once we see that play out, if the judge does decide to order the if the federal judge decides to order the state judge to issue the license, we may see more judges fall into line as they realize that they are under this directly under the federal judges authority.
