Republican Lindsey Graham is the only president ial candidate who went to iowa this weekend to campaign for votes in california. Actually, he was campaigning for just one vote in california. Caitlin jenner wants to be safe and have a prosperous economy, vote for me. Im into addition. I havent walked in her shoes. I dont have all of the answers to the mysteries of life. I can only imagine the torment that bruce jenner went through. I hope he has i hope she has found peace. Im a prolife, traditional marriage kind of guy. But im running to be president of the United States. If Caitlin Jenner wants to be a republican, she is welcome in my party. Lindsey graham did not say which gender Caitlin Jenner should be banned from marrying. No candidate who wants to refight the iraq war more than Lindsey Graham, which is creating quite a challenge to other republican candidates. Some are out there like Lindsey Graham saying we should send 10,000 u. S. Ground troops right now to iraq to help with this fight. Do you favor that . I think we shouldnt rule anything out. I think thats a big mistake this president s made, saying how far we would go or how much we would invest. Would you rule out a fullblown reinvasion of iraq and syria . I dont think we should ever send a message to our foes as to how far we would go. You wouldnt rule out i wouldnt rule out boots on the ground. Would you rule out a fullblown invasion of iraq . If the National Interests of this country are at risk here or in this country or abroad, thats the standard for what we do for military engagement. Iowa senator joni ernst hosted what she hopes to be her first annual roast and road. She was on her 2009 Harley Davidson soft tail deluxe. The only president ial hopeful who joined her was scott walker on a rented 2015 Harley Davidson road king. Scott walkers home of wisconsin is the only home of Harley Davidson and where engines are manufactured. Six other candidates joined ernst for the roast part of the program, which, of course was a pig roast. The states democrats met in a 511delegate convention where the straw poll showed 50 of those delegates voting for a democrat not named clinton. Clinton got 49 of the votes. Bernie sanders got 41 . Joe biden got 3 . Omalley got 3 . Those were the only names that the delegates had on their ballots. But four delegates wrought in the name Elizabeth Warren. Joining us now kasey hunt who is just back from iowa. And so marco rubio, the loser of the harley primary saying hes actually in his life never been on a motorcycle of any kind at any time . He said hes more of a watersport guy. Hes about on a jet ski. His mother traumatized them with motorcycles. That explains why he didnt have a motorcycle until he was, like, 18. Youre going to run for the republican president ial nomination, you really need to learn to ride a motorcycle. Or at least claim that you yeah, what kind of american we have politicians, remember when mitt romney claimed that he hunted frequently . I dont understand what Lindsey Graham positioning, who is his constituency . He does seem to be taking the most unelectable positions possibly. When Caitlin Jenner was bruce jenner, bruce jenner was a republican. So he may not have to do much to sell Caitlin Jenner, because i do believe he already has that vote or the party has it in theory. And eugene, he is leaning the debate on what we do in iraq. Hes going in with a minimum of 10,000 men. Well see from there. And then you see scott walker trying to straddle this. Everybody else is trying to straddle this. God bless Lindsey Graham. I dont agree with his prescription for iraq. Hes very clear. If you think otherwise, dont vote for me. If you want to get out of iraq anytime soon, dont vote for me. I think that is an extraordinary thing. And, actually, an extraordinary addition to the debate because somebody is being honest about the option, other than what president obama is doing. Which is kind of trying to muddle through. Which of the republican campaigns is most reluctant to go into that zone which is how many troops do you want to send into iraq in. Jeb bush, i think. Obviously, weve heard him talk about whether iraq was a mistake. They had to answer that question for days before they figured out how to get it right. The moment he starts to walk down that path. One thing about Lindsey Graham, he is an extraordinarily smart politician with a very good sense of the universe that hes living in. And hes not out there on a limb saying this. He truly believes it, but he knows thats where the party s i think its a dangerous place for jeb bush as he first tries to navigate the primary and go on to an election with Hillary Clinton with a country that doesnt necessarily want to relitigate this war. You have these two candidates saying transgressive things, Lindsey Graham over here and rand paul over here. Its a fascinating time to be a republican, i imagine. When Bernie Sanders had his big announcement, i found myself comparing him to euGene Mccarthy, in this straw poll, it did. He, quote, won, if you use the old Gene Mccarthy versus lbj math. He won with 41 of the vote. If you add up the votes that didnt vote for hillary, its one more than didnt vote for her. That wasnt a great showing for her. Early on, the people paying the most attention are the more conservative republicans and more liberal democrats. And definitely there is a market among liberal democrats for an alternative to Hillary Clinton as hard as shes trying to win over the left. As we get to the nuts and bolts of the primary and deciding who can win a national election, youre going to see something different. But this early on, this is an opportunity for liberal democrats to make their voices heard. And if i had a nickel for every republican straw poll that rand paul i have quite a few nickels. Those delegates know were watching it. Were going to report it. And they know when they cast that vote for Bernie Sanders, is it the Clintons Campaign belief that those people are just trying to send a message . And theyre all going to eventually fall in line with the Clinton Campaign . If you look at the polling, theres demand particularly among white democrats for an alternative to Hillary Clinton. This reminds me so much of the republican primary in 2012. Both the media and the base of the republican party, really wanted somebody other than mitt romney. Anybody other than mitt romney, and i think its something similar here. At the end of the day, we all knew mitt romney was going to become the nominee. It was just a question of how long it would drag out. I think its similar on the democrat side this time. These are all real people who have real thoughts about these issues. You dont have any her man cain types in there. The former senator from rhode island comes to mind, but when you look at Bernie Sanders, he is filling a void that Elizabeth Warren is not going to fill no matter how many times people ask her. What makes it interesting is as you go into those first four important primaries. In iowa, he could have an unusually large showing. Do we think hes going to be here in a primary . The problem casey touched on is when you start to get to south carolina, Hillary Clintons constituency is also very strongly ethnic. And one of the thins about the Bernie Sanders moment is that he doesnt have a broad ethnic base beyond white, liberal democrats. So look at new hampshire. Were going to have to leave it there. That Police Officer was not tripped by anyone on the scene. He may, he may have been tripped by a root or something on the ground under him, or he may have just decide to do a flip for dramatic effect, as he began his rampage in that neighborhood. While other officers responded with calm, dealing with the situation, Corporal Eric casebolt, a tenyear veteran of the Mckinney Police force was completely out of control, screaming orders that had absolutely no Legal Authority and detaining people for no reason with no Legal Authority and beating to the ground a 15 Year Old Girl because he didnt like the sound of her voice. On, guys, appreciate. There was this guy. Get on the ground i told you to stay, get your asses down on the ground. [ bleep ]. I didnt even do anything. What, first of all, tell us what happened at the party that created a situation where the police were called. During the party, we, we were kept, the worker that worked at the pool continued to come over to our group of people, the party, and asking us about the pool passes that we had and how many people were with one pool pass, because apparently there was a rule that you could only have two people per pool pass, but we had never been told about that before. Because i had lived here for a few years and nobody abided by that rule before. So we didnt believe the worker when he said that. So after he came by the first time, we still were having fun in the pool, then he started talking to us about horseplaying, but then i told him, i said you know theres, you see these white kids horseplaying, and then he continued to just ignore that and then continued talking to us about horseplaying. Thats when we started getting upset because he was only coming to us about the pool passes and erg, then we asked him about how come he didnt ask anyone else at the pool about their pool passes because most of the other people there were caucasians. So thats when he went around and asked them about the pool passes. And thats kind of like how it all began. And then there also, then later on during the party, a group of black men were, young men, were at the gate of the pool. And they were trying to get let in, but we didnt know who they were, and we werent with them at the party and everything, so we told no one to let them in. So it went to the side of the pool. And then started hopping the fence, and thats when some of the parents started complaining about it. After we told them we werent with them they assumed that we were. So thats, like, the women that were, like the parents that were complaining, they called the cops, and then thats when the cops began coming. And jordan gray, when did you leave the party . Did you leave when that situation started to get out of hand . Yes. Once the situation started to get out of hand, i started to leave the party in a quiet manner. Jordan, you were there with your mother, werent you . Yes, sir. I was there with my mother at the time at the scene. And maurice gray, your wife was there with, i think, more of your children, not just jordan, is that right . That is correct. She was with five of my kids. Ranging from 6 to 16. And you actually went to the scene once you heard what was happening there. Maurice, what did you find when you went to the scene . Yes, basically, i actually noticed that my wife, she gave me a phone call while i was proceeding to home. And she informed me that she was already at a pool party, and everything was working out fine. They had a deejay, you know, food, and they finally looked at, when i got the second phone call, she informed me that police was there breaking up the pool party, because of unruly kids. They was kind of chasing down kids and trying to, i guess get the situation in hand. And when you responded to the scene there after the fact, had you already seen video of what happened there . No, actually, i arrived at home first. And i noticed my niece informed me that she were struck by an officer, and i just told her to get in the car. And thats when we found out all the video at that time and the actually the other girl that actually was involved getting her face thrown to the ground. I met with her dad, and he was kind of a little bit distraught because this was the first that he heard about it and saw the video. Were going to take a break and when we cam back. Jahda, do you know the girl that the Police Officer grabbed and pulled to the ground and got on top of her . I know of her. I just met her then, but ive heard about her. And so what was she saying . What could you hear her say while that was going on . Well, while he was assaulting her, she was mostly telling people to call her mother, and she was saying, help me and all, like, mostly cries for help. And that, when the Police Officer went after her, that, he, the on thing we can see on the video that maybes him go after her is he doesnt like that she is speaking. Was there any other thing that you saw that made him go after her . I honestly dont believe that it was, like, i dont think there was any other reason, because he was already upset from the beginning whenever someone would say something, because he yelled at me constantly for talking as well. She was walking away, she was leaving like he told her to do, but then he ran after her because she was running her mouth, but you could hear her say someone call my mom when he grabbed her and pulled her back into the scene. And jahda, what did the Police Officer do to you . After he yanked her i was like, walking across the street, because i was standing at the scene when my, because my friend left her glasses in the pool area, and we were waiting to go get them. And the Police Officer told her to leave, told us to leave, and then she said that her glasses were there, and he said he didnt care. And he said we needed to go home. So i pointed in the direction of my house. And he said no, go the other way. So i still tried walking in the direction of my house so i could get homelike he told me to do. And then he used his baton or stick or something and hit me in the arm with it. It wasnt like a bash, but it was hard enough that i could have bruised from it. Go ahead. Go ahead, jahda. So i started walking away. And i was halfway across the street when i turned around and saw him pull her, because, like, i heard a lot of chose going on. And i turned around, and i saw him pull her onto the concrete, and thats when i ran back over, and i tried reaching for her. I didnt touch her. I reached for her to help her. And then he hit me in the face. He hit you in the face, with his hand . Or . Yes, with his hand. He punched me. Maurice gray, when you heard about this happening, and when you were collecting this information after the fact of what happened, what was your reaction . Your personal reaction to this . The first thing when i arrived home, i actually found about it, i actually put her back in the car and went around and asked for the chief once i got back on the scene. And they told me there was no chief on the scene. The officer that was there that was a supervisor, so i took her mother that came later and they talked to the t whats kind of disturbing, we showed the supervisor the video, and the supervisor said there was nothing wrong that was done in the video. Jordan gray, did you see any moment where that Police Officer was threatened by anyone . No, sir. I doesnt see where he was threatened by anybody in any case. And, you know, when im watching the video, jordan, it doesnt make sense to me how he decides to go after some people and not go after others. There are some people who he orders to sit down, and others he doesnt. Did it make any more sense when you were there . It didnt make any sense at all. I come to this as a civil rights lawyer, a mama of three daughters, and i have not been able to collect myself since watching that video. Every time i see that man sitting on that baby and hear her crying for her mother and his sense that he has accomplished something, his sense that he has controlled the scene by sitting on a 14 Year Old Girl is nauseating, sickening, and youre watching somebody, a grown man out of control. Like the worst out of control School Resource officer but fully armed, running through a crowd, doing this bizarre thing like hes a television detective. The drawing of the gun moment is really important, lawrence, because a, its a testament to how out of control he is. But it shows you how close our children are to absolute pair ill because it can go so quickly. Even his colleagues rushed over to grab him because they knew it was out of control which is maybe the good news of the story, but thats the reality. If that moment hes drawn that gun, what could have happened. His colleagues come and grab him. But after they grab him, they go running off after the two men, on what charge . What lawlessness . What law did we see any of those children break . I didnt see them disturbing the peace. I dont see them fighting in public. I heard that there was a fight between an adult and a child, but i dont see those people detained. I dont see anything that constitutes an actual, you know, breaking of the law in some way even the young boys that are held on the ground. One, crowd control, what you wanted them to do was leave, not sit and detain them and hold them. You hear the boys say, sir, we just came here to a party. Sir, we dont understand whats going on, but they must sit, and they must be silent, because he says so, and he has a gun. Anyone whos concerned about big government, anyone whos concerned about lawlessness of the government should be concerned about that video. Texas. This is the state where some of the people are panicked that perhaps the United States army which has been stationed in texas since it has been a state, they dont seem to be outraged about this. But to share lynns point, its nothing but luck that has us sitting here talking about a situation where no one was shot. People were saying the sad truth is that were all thankful that he, in the active level he was at didnt just fire his weapon. I spoke with the father and the attorney of the young man that he pointed the gun, one of the two that he pointed the gun at, that is what the father said, too, that he was thankful for the other officers for one thing that they did sort of pull him back. He was their supervisor. When they took off after the two men, its because he ordered them to. The one man whos been charged, what hes charged with is evading and interfering with an officer. But no one else was arrested. Will that be the just any cation for him pulling his weapon . These are boys in swimming trunks and flipflops. As a parent whos taken my child to a lot of pool parties, the parents dont typically stay, and whos thrown a lot of parties for my kids. This is an excuse to be with other kids for four hours, and the parents leave. Theres usually one or two parents on site. There were at least two parenting there the whole time. The Police Officers dont seem to have sought out those parents. The mom who threw this party for her two daughters, one whos 18 and one whos 14 or 15 was there and said that the Police Officer did not try to talk to her. She was the adult in charge. But the Police Officers went charging at the children. And the fact that the kids are all in bathing suits makes this so much worse on every level. Theres no mystery about what they have. Its a 15 Year Old Girl in a bathing suit. Shes got nothing. Can you look at them. You know they have nothing. Theres nothing there. And then theres this horrible, pornographic component of it when you see the way hes treating her. It is cinematic. Part of it is almost comic the way he does the sort of roll on the entry, like some sort of mad inspector clouseau, you know, expert. But when has there been a pool party where too many people didnt show up . You know, on a hot day . I dont know, ive never heard of that pool party. When do you charge into a situation like that . With the attitude that he came, which was, you know, im going to crack some heads. Im going to establish some order around here. And, i guess, by myself. And shoot people if necessary. I dont know. Its just how is this guy a Police Officer . How was he trained . Part of the training means nothing. Hes a trainer. Hes a trainer. The training means nothing. Youre absolutely right. Because your job is to diffuse the situation, especially with teenagers. Hes churning up at everything the teenager are saying. Hes running after them because he doesnt like ha theyre saying. This is out of control. The preceding event was apparently there were adults unhappy with the racial composition of the party who called the police and physically fought teenagers, adults.
