Country. And i want to start with blayne alexander. She is with voters in atlanta. Blayne, what are people telling you . Well, steph, good morning. People are telling me two things. One, the voting process is going smoothly and, two, that theres no way they were going to miss today. Theyve talked about the fact theyre enthusiastic, theyre excited and made it a priority to get here today. Right now im at a polling location in south atlanta. I want to bring you along and show you. This location opened at 7 0 7 00 a. M. We saw some people lined up before the doors even opened who were ready to go inside who were waiting out here in the cold in the dark to cast their ballots. You look around inside now, you see some people who are still waiting to cast their votes but i will say, steph, that the low numbers that you see here are because a lot of the people came out early. A lot of people came out during early voting, early voting turnout. You saw more than 3 Million People already cast their ballots. At this particular location, i talked to a number of people who came in. Some told me they were in and out in as quickly as five minutes. One of woman described her experience as, quote, perfect. This is one location. We talked to some of our colleagues around the state and look at people planning on coming out, not just yesterday but today. We talked to democrats and republicans and it seems among those that weve talked to, theres not any sort of diminished enthusiasm. Even as they look at the president s claims about issues with the election. We talked to a number of republicans who say doubts or not theyre coming out anyway. Are we going to get these Election Results tonight . Thats a good question. Ive got to say, probably not likely. Remember what we saw during the president ial election. There were not once, twice but three times those results were touted. That was due in part to the fact there was a legally mandated audit. Thats not happening this time around. What could happen is we could see a candidate requested recount. Georgia state law says the margin is within 0. 5 the candidate can request a recount. There are a number of absentee ballots to be counted. That counting cant start until polls close at 7 00 tonight, steph. Why is everyone in washington paying attention to this . Because control of the senate is important to every Single Person in d. C. And its this flrace in georgia thats going to decide it. Theres one exception. The president of the United States, you would think hed be focusing on it, but heres how he started his speech in georgia last night. I want to thank you very much. Hello, georgia. By the way, there is no way we lost georgia. Theres no way. A rigged that was a rigged election. Remember, this speech was supposed to help rally voters on behalf of those republican candidates. Earlier in the day president elect joe biden came out to rally for the democrats in atlanta, and he took a shot at the president for focusing on the election he lost instead of the pandemic that is still going on and raging in this country. The president spends more time whining and complaining than doing something about the problem. I dont know why he still wants the job. He doesnt want to do the work. All right. Lets dig into this. Peter alexander at the white house. Phil rucker, pulitzer prizewin ing bureau chief for the Washington Post and Garrett Haake on capitol hill. How much does the president care about what happens in georgia today . He cares about what happens in georgia in as much as it reflects on him and his presidency. What was stunning about those remarks, though not surprising, is the moment the president walked on stage in front of thousands of his supporters where he was ostensibly at a rally that was supposed to focus attention on Kelly Loeffler and david perdue. He was more focused on november 3rd than january 5th. He said, i dont do rallies for other people. I do them for me. The president focused heavily on his own grievances, his frustrations about the election that took place two months ago. Again, falsely claiming victory. And he did it just hours after a republican Georgia Election official, you know, dismantled his claims. One by one, ticking off all the reasons the conspiracy theories the president has touted are not through and throughout the course of it. And one of the things that creates a conflict and a real contrast in all of this is that the president who is claiming the last election was the result of a rigged system, that its corrupt, now has to sort of reinforce that people should believe in the system to vote again today. And thats one of the real challenges here. It will be entertaining to witness the way the president tries to cast this if republicans do win these two seats in georgia. What does he say . Well, it worked this time but didnt work last time . In some ways thats a nail in his own argument. Steph . Phil, i want to turn to your latest reporting because you say that President Trump is effectively sabotaging the Republican Party on his way out of office. Pretty much every Business Partner hes ever had has said, yep, been there, done that. I know what thats like. But is he doing this consciously or unconsciously . Well, steph, hes being driven entirely by his personal grievances and by his desire to undo the results of the election and stay in power. He doesnt much care about the future of the Republican Party or the gop. He is fixated on his own future, his own legacy and trying to perpetuate his power. So what hes doing is hes forcing the very uncomfortable vote for these senators and house members. Republicans. They have to choose between whether to honor the votes of their own constituents to elect joe biden president or to try to subvert the vote and crusade on trumps behalf which is all but certain to fail in congress. But they risk primary challenges and what weve seen from President Trump the last few days is hes been attacking republicans left and right. He has been recruiting publicly a primary challenger, the number two ranked Senate Republican john thune. Hes been calling on the georgia governor, also a republican, to resign at that rally last night. He even said hed be returning to georgia in 18 months to campaign against Governor Kemp as well as against the republican secretary of state. So theres a gop civil war here, and its being brought on by donald trump, President Trump because he refuses to concede. Phil, 18 months from now when he says hes going to come back to hurt brian kemp, hes just going to be a private citizen. What power is the president really going to have . Well, its actually were not sure how much power hes going to have as a private citizen, but if he continues to have the public support he has now, he will be, by far, the most potent and powerful and popular figure in the Republican Party. And so the risk for these republican elected officials is that trump can come in with 80 of republicans supporting him and say, i choose somebody else in that primary and all of those trump voters are going to go another direction. So even though hes out of office, he could have political sway. Is he the most power snful . Last i checked, he just lost an election. Kelly loeffler in georgia wants to be in Good Standing with the president so shes added her name to the list of republicans who are going to oppose the Election Results tomorrow. Take us behind closed doors on the hill. Whats actually happening . Well, look. Theres a couple of things you need to understand. Everyone involved in this and those who arent know that it will fail. This effort to block the electoral count cannot succeed on the merits. The votes arent there in either the house or the senate. So this is purely performative. Its designed to get the attention of the president and of the president s voters. Just as phil was saying, the president does still have enormous sway with these folks. He lost his election but got the second most votes of anybody ever running for president. His only problem was the guy who beat him got the most. But he still has the sway of all of those voters and thats why you see this effort. Theres some frustration in private and in public among republican elected officials that they are being forced to take this vote. Not just by people who are trump skeptics within the Republican Party. But really committed Trump Supporters like kevin cramer, senator from north dakota, who is publicly upset this becomes the litmus test. This, you know, Suicide Mission to vote for something that is destined to fail becomes the test of loyalty to a president that all of these folks on the senate side, on the republican side, have remained loyal to but now are going to be asked to do something both impossible and antidemocratic in the final weeks of his administration. Significant frustration among Senate Republicans for this effort that is destined to fail and will be part of now their legacy as well as the outgoing president s. Can we add an element that makes no sense. Phil, Kelly Loeffler will not accept the president ial Election Results, but she will accept the results of her own race. Its the same election. Steph, i dont even know how to make sense of that. Its the same election. Its also been counted and recounted twice in georgia. Those results are certified by the state, by the state republican officials there. The fraud claims that the president and his Senate Allies have been repeating are simply not true. They have been debunked. This is conspiratorial talk and clearly senator loeffler, i think, is just trying to get on the good side of President Trump ahead of todays Runoff Election to try to win that seat. All right. Peter alexander, youre getting the question i want to know the answer most. I want to share what President Trump said last night about the certification and specifically mike pence suggesting his Vice President can change the game. Watch this. I hope mike pence comes through for us. I have to tell you. I hope that our great Vice President , our great Vice President comes through for us. Hes a great guy. Of course, if he doesnt come through, i wont like him quite as much. I get it. The president is pretty powerful. You know who else is pretty pow powerful . Mitch mcconnell. And he does not support this. So who is mike pence listening to to. Its be issue of the constitution and mike pence does not have the power unilaterally to change the outcome. The New York Times this morning described it well. Effectively, his role tomorrow on wednesday is basically to open up the inenvelopes like at the academy awords, read the name which declares the winner. He cant just flip a switch and all of a sudden joe biden doesnt win, President Trump does win here. The president knows better and is doing this to fuel disinformation among his supporters or he just doesnt get the way that it works. But the times is also reporting that the president has directly pressed pence, pressed him to try to find alternatives to certifying bidens win. Basically finding a way that biden wouldnt get to the 270 electoral votes that he won. That ultimately throw this to the house. Again, to be clear, pence cant do any of this. And it puts him in this awful, untenable position where he has to decide between his boss and the constitution. His advisers have said, though not on the record, on background as they describe it, that he will follow the constitution here, but hes also trying to have it a little bit both ways by saying theyll have a chance to air their grievances and present the evidence on january 6th. Steph . Mike pence in an awkward situation. Not new news. Gentlemen, thank you. Phil, i like that new art you have. Thanks. Coming up it is not just gad georgia. The gop senators who plan to object to certifying the biden win are also targeting Election Results in pennsylvania. John fetterman joins us to talk about how he plans to carve out their baseless lies. The United States has hit another record for covid hospitalizations. More than 128,000 people as of this morning. In the state of california, hospitals in l. A. County are so overwhelmed that ambulance crews are being told not to transport patients who have little chance of survival. In new york, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the states first case of the more contagious uk variant making it the fourth state with confirmed cases of this strain. Nationwide, the total number of coronavirus cases has surpassed 20. 9 million. 354,000 americans have lost their lives. Including more than 1800 just yesterday. And as of this morning, 4. 5 million initial doses of the two covid19 vaccines have been administered in the United States, far below the 20 million target which President Trump had for january 1st. I want to go live to dasha burns in san antonio, texas, where the vaccine roll dloout has been turbulent at best. Help us understand this. The governor there says vaccines are sitting on shelves waiting, waiting to be distributed. But hospitals there say they cant get enough doses for even their frontline workers. Yeah, stephanie. There seems to be a disconnect between the conversation at the higher level and the reality on the ground for providers and folks looking to get vaccinated. The Texas Hospital Association has pushed back on those claims that there are vaccines sitting on shelves. They say thats absolutely not the case. That hospitals are working as quickly as possible to get shots in arms even as they are dealing with record numbers of hospitalizations gh t s in the right now. Where im at right now is an example of how every dose is getting used. This is the public District Hospital here. Their vaccination site, you can take a peek in here. There are folks in line ready to get their vaccine. These are individuals in the 1b group. University health just opened up vaccinations to this group and, stephanie, get this. When they opened up registration last week, within five hours, 17,000 people filled up those slots. They have to shut down the registration portal asking folks to be patient until they get more supply. And heres where it gets complicated. At the same time this is happening here, there are other providers in this area that say they do not have enough supply to vaccinate those 1a frontline workers. And the Texas Hospital Association tells me there are 68 hospitals in the state right now, mostly rural hospitals, that have not yet given out a single dose. Not even to their frontline staff. So thats creating a lot of confusion because of this wide range of circumstances in the state, this decentralized system. So the Texas Hospital Association has come up with a few dos and donts for the public because right now a lot of people are looking to get vaccinated. And its creating some bottlenecks for hospitals. Here are a few tips. First, do your research. Talk to your hospital, look at social media, the websites and see if there is availability. Be patient and understand that there is a limited supply. Check your eligibility. See if you are actually eligible to get a vaccine if youre in one of those groups the vaccine is available to. And understand that there is a lot of variablity. Some regions may have more play than others. The thing you should not do is just show up at the hospital. Were getting hospitals are telling us there are folks who are coming in, without an appointment, without having checked and theyre not able to vaccinate them. Dont show up. Thats creating a lot of bottlenecks. Theres a lot going into this process, and hospitals are working real hard. Dasha, thank you. Not one dose. I need better explanations here. Joining us, former acting cdc director, dr. Richard besser. You say this terrible vaccine rollout is a result of the lack of federal leadership. Why would we be missing federal leadership . Even if the president wasnt empathetic to the plight of americans, this vaccine is a huge win. Its the golden ticket. Why wouldnt the president set up vaccine stations at every street and put his picture on the front door . You know, one of the big challenges, stephanie, was how long it took to get federal dollars to states and local Health Departments so that they could hire staff and do all of the planning that were necessary for a smoother rollout. We knew when vaccine came it was going to be challenging, especially with different products requiring different storage requirements. It was going to be a challenge. One of the things that concerns me here is that as were going through this winter, its clear going into this that vaccines are not what are going to save the lives we need to see protected this winter. Its following the recommendations of Public Health. Its making sure we wear masks and social distance and hand wash. Its making sure that we encourage our loved ones not to travel, not to gather with other people. Its recognizing that the resources that have come from congress for people are going to expire at the end of this month, and those are truly a lifeline for millions and millions of people in america. In particular, people of color and lower income americans who are forced every day to go to work in settings where they may not be fully protected, where they may know theyve been exposed. People want this thing over. But if the two headlines we are dealing with is poor vaccine rollout and high vaccine hesitancy, how much longer are we going to be living like this . Yeah, i mean, thats the big question. We need to address both of those. We need to increased leadership at the federal level to help with vaccine rollout. We need to learn from those states doing this well. There are states that have actually been successful at vaccinating all of their nursing home residents. States running clinics 24 7. We need to learn from that and share that information so other states can benefit. We need states to step up and say to the federal government, heres what we need to get this done. We need to see those federal resources flowing. And then we need a bigger effort to address peoples concerns. Some of the groups that have been impacted the greatest by this pandemic, black, latino, native americans, are groups that have some of the greatest skepticism in terms of our Health Care System. So how do we how do we reach out to trusted leaders in each community so they can listen respectfully to peoples concerns and address those. I think that what were going to see is as more and more people know people who have been vaccinated, they are going to want the vaccine as well because theyre going to recognize the side effects from this are sore arms, you may feel lousy for a couple of days but this is a safe and effective vaccine. Were going to see demand increase and hopefully well see at the federal level increased effort to increase supply of vaccine, increase flow so that those who truly need the vaccine first are can get it. Doctor, i mentioned it earlier, but i have to ask you about it because i cant get it out of my mind. The situation in Los Angeles County is so bad that ambulance crews are being told not to bring patients with little chance of survival, even to the hospital. This is the United States of america. Did you ever think we would be in this position . Well, this greatly concerns me. And its a consequence of the disconnected messaging weve seen at the federal level where political leaders have said theres nothing to worry about and Public Health has been gravely concerned. But im really worried, stephanie, about that approach in los angeles. We know that our Health Care System discriminates by race. Its something thats been shown in study after study. And i worry that ambulance drivers who are doing their best, who are being asked to make these critical decisions in the field will be influenced by implicit bias and that the care people receive will vary by income, by class, by race, and thats something that we cannot allow to have happen in america. We need to make sure that these decisions are being made fairly and equitably in as calmly a setting as possible but not in the field someone someone is pulling into an apartment and trying to decide if this someone whose life is worth saving. That is something that cannot happen in america. Id like to believe every life is worth saving. Dr. Besser, thank you. For anyone who believes this is just the flu, i pray that that is never you or your family member. Someone who calls an ambulance because you are so sick and that ambulance decides youre too sick to even bring to the hospital. Covid is serious. Please realize it. Weve got to move on because right now georgia voters are heading to the polls to decide the fate of the entire senate. Well take you to one gop stronghold to see how the president s claim of voter fraud, baseless claim, is impacting turnout there. And could it shift this election . On can it help with snoring . Right now, polls are open for georgias Critical Senate runoffs with control of the entire senate at stake. And participation in the state has been very high. Early voting ended with a record of more than 3 million votes ahead of today. I want to go to nbcs Shaquille Brewster outside of a polling location in canton, georgia. Shaq, when we talk turnout, we assume its among democrats, but canton, where you are, this is a republican stronghold. Whats turnout looking like there . Thats right. A Large Population county that we know that back in november, President Trump and senator david perdue who is on the ballot, both earned about 69 of the vote here. The republicans are really looking to drive up those numbers. Ill let you look at the line behind me. This has been the line thats fairly consistent. We saw extremely long in the Morning Hours at 7 00 am when polls opened and this line has been fairly consistent throughout the day. And in my conversations with voters here, they say they saw this as an important race. They wanted to come out. They were going to participate. They realize how significant it is. I want you to listen to a couple of xhanexchanges i had with foln line this morning. Im in a tough spot. Im a fiscal conservative, but im a social liberal. I believe in making sureerva tre sure everybody is treated equally. At the end of the day, the finances probably outweighed the social aspects. Did you feel a lot of pressure coming into the voting booth today . No. Why not . It was everybody was just here to do their civic duty and everybody was getting along. We talked about the big names in georgia yesterday. We saw Vice President pence. President elect biden. Last night, of course, President Trump. The reason why these big names are coming is because they know that this race is all about turnout. Its important. It has National Implications but its about getting their voters back out to the polls trying to have a similar level of voting they had two months ago for the general election. Its all about voter turnout for both parties. Shaq, thank you. I want to bring in someone who truly understands the state of georgia. The ceo of the new georgia project, a group dedicated to registering and engaging georgia residents. You have been very, very busy over the last few months, and today is the day. We learned that president from president elect biden where he said georgia suburbs could change this race. They could boost democrats in a big way. What counties are you going to be watching close . The counties were going to be watching close are cobb, gwinnett, clayton because these are the suburban counties that make the inner ring, the inner suburban counties that surround Metro Atlanta or that make up Metro Atlanta. But they also are significant in terms of their size. So if turnout is high, if turnout is strong, it will tell us two things. One, it will tell us that this is a competitive election. That, you know, that it is the nature of battleground state politics that you are fighting for every vote. Every vote counts. So if turnout is elevated in those counties then we know its going to be close. Or well know whether or not perdue and loeffler pulled this thing out. I think the second thing that it will tell us is whether or not the elevated and historic turnout that we saw on during early voting, whether or not that cannibalized election day turnout or if there are still more voted. Like theres still more water in that well. How long do you think its going to take to get the Election Results . We know back in november we saw democrats come out and vote early. Republicans voted on election day and that led to the president launching in to conspiracy theories that the election was rigged when it wasnt. We just needed to wait for the results to come in. Yeah, well, this president traffics in conspiracy theories so i think we would have that those regardless of now he lost in georgia. I want to be clear about that. But i think that it might take some time. I think that they need to count. We have almost a million vote by mail ballots. And it will take time for those to get counted. And so its not clear to me. The thing that weve been telling people is not to panic, right . If its coldplay or fresh montana is more of your speed then the theme for today is dont panic. And reminding people that its election day and not necessarily results day. And so we want to make sure that every vote gets counted and that the county officials and board of Election Officials have the time they need in order to make sure we have an accurate count. Speaking of Election Officials, one dropped a hammer on the president s misinformation just yesterday. Georgia election official gabe sterling went after the president s claims one by one and knocked them down. Watch this. Ive had to argue with people whom ive known for 20 years. We feel like our election was stolen, our votes dont count. I said, okay, im not acknowledging the election was stolen because it wasnt. Do not selfsuppress your own vote. Do not make a selffulfilling prophecy out of doing this. A, that sign Language Interpreter already won this election. He was xrooextraordinary, but g sterling, he is a republican. He is defending his state from attacks from his own party. How much has all this noise impacted the election and your state . I think its going to have a profound impact on this election. You know, you have Party Leaders telling folks not to show up and vote. That makes no sense to me. But what is clear is that there is an ideological split within todays Republican Party that there are folks who are leaning into misinformation and disinformation, that there are people who have taken what i can only describe as donald trump and republican fan fiction or fever dream and are using that to build campaigns on. And there are some folks who have not abandoned fact and reason and are trying to sort of fight for sanity within their party. And i personally thought that i would enjoy watching that much more than i actually do. Its painful and difficult to watch, but this seems to be the type of sort of shedding of skin that needs to happen so that we you know, we can have conservative ideology to debate with and not like wild speculation and, you know, just not were in crazy town. I am concerned about this. But todays Republican Party, the president berating the governor and the secretary of state, forcing them or trying to get them in engage in a criminal conspiracy to steal the election, to participate in his another failed coup attempt. This is not normal. This is not okay. It has to be criminal. And, you know, shout out to the gabe sterlings of the Republican Party who are fighting for sanity within their party. Ideology is one thing but facts have got to come first. Thank you so much for joining me. I want to get out of crazy town and take you to another state. A state that has also been at the center of misinformation and baseless voter fraud claims. The state of pennsylvania. Its also at the center of this fight which shouldnt even be happening to certify the Election Results. It just should be ceremonial. Joining us to weigh in, a man who knows this state best. Lieutenant governor of pennsylvania, john fetterman. I want to start right there. What is your response to senator josh hawley and others who are singling out pennsylvania specifically . I think just like i did yesterday, i laugh at him. Oh, no, please, dont say those things. Its like, everyone knows this is going down in a big, hot flaming pile of garbage. And its just a matter of when. And i encourage all of them to vote for it. And they are setting themselves up for a moment decades from now w where its like, grand pa, what did you do during 2020 . Well, i told people not to wear a mask during a pandemic and told to sit for a president through seditious meaningless art on the floor of the senate. And youll be able to say you fought this in a dayglow turtleneck on tv. Its a neck gator, but your point well taken. We saw gabe sterling who just showed a clip holding that press conference where he debunked every single claim coming from President Trump. Do you think officials in your state should be doing the same thing . Well, i have been doing that on social media. Point for point. There is no validity to any of these claims. And they know it. Thats what makes it so vulgar is that no one knows how disingenuous it is better than they do. They know they dont have a case. They are immune to the facts. They dont want to hear the facts. And thats what happened when you have the ted show. Its bad performance art. Its going to end in a supernova of supreme humiliation for them and thats going to be a stain on their record for the rest of the time theyre in public service. What im wondering is other phone call the president could be making. Even if he was successful and got georgias secretary of state to find the votes, and lets say he flipped the state, thats not enough to get him to 270. Do you believe the president is making similar calls to officials in your state . I know hes made similar calls to Republican Leadership in pennsylvania. And it doesnt matter. Nothing is going to change it. Thats the thing. This is mathematical. All this sound and fury is going to end with joe biden being inaugurated on january 20th. Weve rebutted this line by line. Theyve been shredded from every court from the Supreme Court on down. And they dont just shred them. They pile on unanimously. Like, what team in American History has ever been 1 in 59 and still try to strap it up and act like theyre not the biggest running joke since the new york jets. Going after the new york jets. A guy who is probably an eagles fan. No, no, no, steelers, come on. Okay. Steelers, fine, fine. Okay. I mean pat toomey, hes retiring next year. Thats one of the reasons hes able to speak out. Were going to miss him. Are you going to run for his seat . Oh, i dont know. I dont know, but let me just say that, you know, pats backbone arrived four years too late and everyone thats standing up now its like, where were you four years ago . Your frankenstein has been out there doing the damage and youve got to own your part and the fact youre just doing your job now, standing up to sedition really, you know, you dont get a merit badge for that, but four years too late. Four years too late. Lieutenant governor, always good to speak with you. Thank you for joining us this morning. Thank you. When we come back, newly elected senator, former governor, John Hickenlooper joins us on how he plans to fight back against republicans who are trying to overturn the election, and they know they cant. Late last night, one of those candidates who was on the ballot, Kelly Loeffler, became the 13th Senate Republican who plans to object to bidens win when Congress Votes to certify the Election Results tomorrow. Joining me to weigh in on all of this, brandnew democratic senator from the state of colorado, who was sworn in on sunday, John Hickenlooper. Senator, you are starting this gig while at least 13 members of the senate are not even accepting the Election Results. Thats going to happen on wednesday. Come thursday, how do you expect to work with these people . Well, you know, were going to have to step beyond it, and i think each one of these Senate Republicans has their own reasons. But i think the one consistent thing is that they are putting their shortterm political benefit ahead of what is clearly better for the country. The election is over. Every state is certified. Joe biden will be our president on january 20th. Weve got important stuff. In colorado theyre worried about getting more vaccinations faster. Theyre worried about reopening businesses. Making sure people can pay their rent. Lets focus on what we need to focus on. Like what . What do you believe you can work with republicans on if democrats dont win in georgia. Do you actually think you have a snowballs chance in you know where of working with them . If they are willing to do this, which is a violation of our constitution, you really think everybody is going to get in a jamboree to work on infrastructure and health care . Well, i might be naive, although my son teddy says that youre only naive until you do it, and then youre a visionary. But i think we have to push forward. The challenges facing us are much larger than this shortterm political calculation that some of these republican senators are making. And weve got to step together. We should be defining the United States as the greatest country on earth in terms of how rapidly we can get people vaccinated. How well we can distribute those vaccines. That kind of success is going to take everyone working together. The governors, the senators, the new administration. We dont have time for this craziness. So lets stay on that. You are a former governor. Youre now a senator. Youre a businessman. How do you do it . When you look at other countries, they are making it happen, and the United States, we have failed at testing, and were failing at the vaccination rollout. What do we node to do besides this sort of pie in the sky work together. Literally, how do we fix this . Well, it starts at the top. And i you know, i know that joe biden as president is going to have a staff around him and a team i mean from ron mcclane all the way down, were going to get a best practices vision of what every state has to do. And were not going to have states competing against each other anymore. Were not going to have heres one way you might want to do it. Heres another way. Good luck. Go to it. Were going to have a real focus on, how do we get more vaccines to the states, more efficiently and how do we set up a system by which the partnerships look at all the different pharmacies, right. Walgreens and rite aid and all these different enterprises. They have all got to be organized and coordinated to get this Inoculation Program up to scale immediately. And we can be the best country and i think that comes from the top and once the president the new administration and President Biden really make that the priority, i think the states will i think youll see a remarkable transformation on how much more successful the states are. Do you have any reason to believe that republicans will work with you . While we are talking about ted cruz and josh hawley who are opposing these Election Results, were not hearing from Mitch Mcconnell who has a whole lot more power than not hearing fro mcconnell. Do you believe the likes of Mitch Mcconnell is going to look to work with republicans, Democratic Senators like you . Well, i think that i have to give Mitch Mcconnell the benefit of the doubt that we are obviously disagree on many, many things. But at this moment in time, these key issues of not only how do we get the vaccinations out there and really begin to work our way out of the pandemic, but how do we rebuild our economy in a way thats more equitable for everyone . How do we invest in infrastructure or get broad band corrodes th across the country. Those shouldnt be partisan issues. Theyre Building Blocks of how to make this country what it could be. Amen to that. I look forward to covering those issues as our top stories of the day, not the ridiculous circus we are covering right now. Always good to see you. Congratulations, senator. Thanks.
