New report by the Washington Post finds President Trump frequently crafted Financial Statements that exaggerated his assets and hid his debts while a businessman. According to the post when trump wanted to make a good impression he sometimes sent them official looking documents called statements of financial condition. The post reviewed several of these documents laying out trumps Properties Debt and net worth. Newspaper notes if someone was trying to get a true picture of trumps net worth the documents were deeply flawed. Some simply omitted properties that carried big debts. Some assets were overvalued. Some key numbers were wrong. Now investigators on capitol hill and in new york are looking into these documents in an apparent attempt to determine whether trumps familiar habit about bragging about his wealth ever crossed a line into fraud. Statements were the center of at least two inquiries that continue to follow trump unaffected by the end of special counsel Robert Muellers probe. In terms of this, this is a responsibility we have to uphold the constitution. I have said and ill say again, no thank you, mr. Attorney general. We do not need your interpretation. We got 54 words from the press secretary yesterday outlining, i guess, what the plan might be as of yet still no plan. Well, it was interesting when he was making those remarks that first day, i think it was tuesday when he sort of broke this to republicans. Guess what . You got to come up with another health care plan. Remember the ones that didnt fail. Thats okay. Forget about that. Move on. He said he knew how complex the Health Care System was. And that may be the case. He may know how complex the Health Care System is but it seems like in talking to some lawmakers on the hill it seems he still doesnt understand how complex the reality of getting something passed through the senate and house will be, especially given that democrats are in control of the house. And if this law goes away all together, then republicans are left number one without a plan that theyve passed. Keep in mind they couldnt pass anything. There were four iterations back in 2017 and they werent able to pass any of them. So its unclear how they will move forward. Keep in mind there are several senators who have been working on producing a plan because, again, this is what republicans ran on and won during the tea party movement, back in 2010. Even a majority in the senate will be very difficult. Interesting because this could have been their moment. They knew the Mueller Report of coming out. They could have made a plan with whatever comes out with regard to the Mueller Report or barr letter lets change the march negative, go in on health care, have a plan to go out to the public. People can concentrate on health care and not the Mueller Report. Thats not what happened. Instead the president announced the republicans will become the party of health care but not having a plan to back that up and losing that momentum and losing that moment that the Trump Administration could have taken ahold of. I want to quickly turn, molly, back to the Mueller Report here and the dojs reasoning behind having a four page i mean this is like, its like writing a bad paper for, like a book report based on a really long book and i just got two pages out of it. I wouldnt get a good grade. We have a four page summary on 300 plus pages of the Mueller Report. Whats the reasoning behind this . Thats a good question. Thats what democrats in the house want to know. Thats why they are pushing for the Mueller Report to be released by april 2nd. Again, those Key Committee chairmen of the six committees in house that are investigating aspects of the Trump Administration have demanded the special counsel office, office of the special counsel release the full report by april 2nd. Now granted thats not going to happen. Likely thats not going to happen as weve seen in the reporting. What they are doing they are setting up, getting the ball rolling towards subpoena, you know, towards trying to subpoena the report, the release of the full report. Maybe all but the classified portions of it because keep in mind part of this was a Counter Intelligence investigation. So Intel Committee will get that. Again they are trying to get that timeline moving up. It takes a while to get these subpoenas through the house and then the court system. They are working on it. Again, its unclear. Interesting because if you tick through some of the major investigations in our history, most of those reports were released publicly. Sensitive information and intelligence redacted from those reports but nonetheless most released publicly. Why is it this hasnt come out . Because its under this new special counsel law which is different. The independent counsel law which republicans and democrats learned from. They said maybe we did to do something to rein this in a little bit. When you do that youre also kind of making it more difficult to have the entire report releas released. Thank you very much. The 1 big thing is beto showing trends and shifts that show over the last several years, not just 2018 with beto orourke, that the state is more willing to vote for Democratic Candidates up and down the ticket and 2020 could be the first time that the state votes for a democratic nominee for president since 1976. And all these folks that i talked to said that beto orourke certainly brought a lot of attention to the state and provided a lot of tv and air coverage, but hes not the sole reason the state has been shifting this way. They pointed to things like voter turnout in the 2018 midterms which increased by 18 Percentage Points in 2014, they talked about racial demographics shifting, more latino and younger people in the states and also looked at trends across the country and how that was reflected in texas. Theyre looking at it as a way to make texas more competitive in the next election cycle. Beto orourke announcing his campaign this week. You talk about this blue wave in texas. Break it down for us. President trump decided to go against his own people and override his own cabinet member but saying hes going to decide unilaterally that hell fund the Special Olympics. Hes the tormenter because this is a clear pattern of behavior with President Trump. He did this with jim mattis who resigned after President Trump tweeted he was removing troops from syria.
